Editor's Notes

  1. This update is a technical update that compiles and summaries work conducted to date on the Violin 2 project. The objective of this review is to present and summarize the results of exploration to date and to draw conclusions regarding the mineral potential of the Violin 2 project as well as outlining a way forward for continued exploration of the project.
  2. Investigate before you invest! Get qualified professional investment advice.
  3. General Property location.
  4. Soil Sampling The soil sampled area on the Violin 2 project was divided into 5 "grids" on the basis of differing bedrock geology in each of the grids. The grids have tested approximately 4650 hectares of the 11,190 hectare project area or 41% of the ground. From north to south, the grids are: 1. Coaxtlahuacan Norte 2. Coaxtlahuacan 3. Mezcaltapec 4. San Isidro 5. Piedra Iman The grids are named after local villages or in the case of one grid a known mineral occurrence. Sampling of the grids was conducted under the supervision of Minera Camargo S.A. de C. V. during the period June 19 to August 7, 2007. Samples were collected at intervals varying from 25 to 50 metres along lines either 100 or 200 metres apart. Samples were collected at a depth averaging from 15 to 20 centimetres. Sample sites were marked with wood pickets to which were affixed aluminum sample number tags. A total of 10,649 soil samples were collected during the campaign. All of the soil samples were shipped to Pioneer Laboratories in Richmond, B.C. for sample preparation and analysis. Initially, Pioneer analysed alternate samples for Ag, Cu, Pb and Zn using traditional aqua regia digestion followed by atomic absorption finish. Later, the remainder of the samples were analyzed for a 30 element suite (Ag, Al, As, B, Ba, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, S, Sb, Sn, Sr, Te, Ti, Tl, V and Zn) using inductively coupled argon plasma technique (ICP). Gold, for all samples was analysed using an MIBK extraction followed by an atomic absorption finish on a 20 gram sample split. A summary of the geological and geochemical character of each grid is tabulated below. The analytical data generated from the soil sample analyses was examined using tradition geostatistical techniques such as cumulative frequency distribution, stem-leaf plots in order to estimate if there were multiple populations in the sample data and what the parameters of the populations were. It was assumed, most cases, that there are anomalous populations caused by mineralization in bedrock and a background population reflecting the distribution of the general range of values for a given element in unmineralized bedrock. Summaries of the basic statistics of the data from each grid are tabulated on a separate attachment.
  5. This slide illustrates the geological setting of the Violin 2 project area according to Servicio Geologico Mexicano published 1:50,000 geological maps.
  6. Overlain on the property geology are areas anomalous in copper.
  7. This slide illustrates gold anomalies in soils in relation to property geology.
  8. Lead + silver soils anomalies are illustrated on this slide in relation to property geology.
  9. The Coaxtlahuacan Norte soil grid was initially described as having "an annular or donut-shaped copper-in-soils anomaly, defined by copper values greater than 210 ppm, is 720 by 820 metres in size (~50 hectares) and is open to the north and west. The copper anomaly coincides with anomalous gold and silver. A distinct lead-arsenic-antimony soil anomaly is situated on the periphery of the copper-gold-silver anomaly, suggesting that there is a zonal relationship to the distribution of these elements which may be related to initial deposition of these metals. The area is underlain by a Late Cretaceous to Tertiary age quartz-biotite-feldspar porphyritic intrusive stock. Grab samples of surface mineralization consisting of copper and iron oxides have assayed up to 2.8% copper, 54.8 grams/tonne silver and 0.31 gm/t gold. Field examination of the area in April found evidence that the "annular zones" are likely attributable to copper in skarn at the contact of two lenticular limestone roof pendants. The area examined to the north of the grid was found in part to be underlain by a biotite-feldspar-quartz porphyry stock that locally is intensely altered to a quartz-sericite-pyrite assemblage with quartz stockwork development. Preliminary NITON analyses of rock and soil in the field indicate that the area is strongly anomalous in copper and as such represents a new and significant copper discovery in this area. It is recommended that the existing soil grid be extended over the favourable geology to the north and to follow-up with induced polarization surveys in order to target the best locations for drill testing of what appears to be a very significant porphyry copper-gold prospect. In addition to the above, a distinct gold-antimony soil anomaly is situated on the south side of the grid and is open to the south. This anomaly may be contiguous with a similar anomaly situated on the Coaxtlahuacan grid. It is therefore recommended that soil sampling be extended between the two grids in order to close off this anomalous zone.
  10. The Coaxtlahuacan grid is underlain by intrusive that appears to be part of the same intrusive suite found immediately to the north on the Coaxtlahuacan Norte grid. The geochemical response is slightly different. In general, the grid is strongly anomalous in both copper and gold (up to 3,810 ppm Cu and 2,160 ppb Au). The anomalous area, as defined by the 210 ppm copper contour, is 49 hectares in area and is open to the south. Zones anomalous in gold, as defined by areas within the 120 ppb gold contour, coincide in part with the copper anomaly, but are also situated immediately to the north of the copper anomaly in what appears to be a fault bounded block of the intrusive. Anomalous gold zones within the copper anomaly total 18 hectares in area; the gold zone to the north totals 30 hectares in area. A distinct lead-arsenic-antimony soil anomaly is situated peripheral to the copper and gold anomaly. The gold anomaly is clearly complex as it in part correlates with copper, but also correlates with the lead-arsenic-antimony zone. A low-order molybdenum anomaly is situated between the copper and lead-arsenic-antimony zone. Ground magnetic surveys demonstrate that the copper zone is situated in a magnetically high zone that is surrounded by magnetic lows, which coincide, in part, with the gold zone. Magnetite has been located in the field in copper mineralized exposures. A distinct induced polarization (IP) chargeability anomaly is associated with the gold zone and another larger IP chargeability anomaly is situated at depth underlying the south east part of the grid. This anomaly is open to the east and south and is interpreted to be caused by disseminated sulphides associated with an underlying intrusive. A series of four drill holes have been recommended as an initial test of the chargeability anomalies. Grab samples from surface exposures and road cuts in the copper anomalous zone have assayed up to 1.37% copper, 5.56 g/t gold and 13.5 g/t silver. These results further highlight the significance of this area that has strong similarities to Goldcorp’s Los Filos – El Bermejal gold mine 68 kilometres to the northwest.
