4. Endemic Species
• Mugger:
Marsh crocodile is in danger partially due to
over hunting. The species is now nearly extinct and only
occur in small numbers in Sindh and a few areas in
Baluchistan.
• Gharial:
It is seen in small numbers between the Sukkur
and Guddu barrages.

Reptile of Pakistan
1.Kirthar National park:
Some of the reptiles found in the park are the Rock python, Sind cobra,
Russell's viper, Sawscaled viper, Sind krait, Royal rat snake, tortoises,
monitor lizards, Sind crocodile (possibly extinct) and different species of
lizard and chameleon.
8. 2.Hingol National Park:
Covering about 610,043 ha, Hingol National Park, the largest National Park
in Pakistan, lies on the Makran coast approximately 190 km from Karachi.
The area was for the first time declared reserved in 1988.
9. Wildlife Conservation
Wildlife conservation is the practice of protective wild plants and wild
animals and their habitat.
Methods
• Protection by law:
Laws should be enacted to protect wildlife species of reptiles.
• Restoration of original habitat:
Restoration of original habitat to be build in the deforested areas.
• Banned on hunting:
Hunting should be banned to protect the species of reptiles.
• Training of wildlife management:
Training of wildlife forest officers, wildlife ecologist is essential for
conservation of wildlife.
10. Conservation Project For Reptiles
Marine Turtle Conservation Project
• Sindh Wildlife Department started this Project in 1980
• To protect turtles that come to nest to Karachi’s beaches
• Staff collects turtle’s eggs and transfer to secure places
• Hatchling then counted ,weighed , measured and released into Sea
• Project managed to release 430,000 hatchlings into Sea
• Tagged 2000 mother turtles
