Defining Bullying
 Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among
school aged children that involves a real or perceived
power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the
potential to be repeated, over time.
 Bullying can involve overt, physical, verbal, emotional,
or social behaviors
 Exclusion, Defamation, Destruction of Property
 Ranges from blatant to subtle actions.

What is Social Emotional Learning
 S.E.L is a process for learning life skills, including how
to deal with oneself, others, relationships and work in
an effective manner.
 S.E.L helps in recognizing our emotions and helps us
learn how to manage those feelings.
 In dealing with others S.E.L helps with developing,
sympathy and empathy for others, and maintaining
positive relationships.
 S.E.L focuses on dealing with a variety of situations in
a constructive and ethical manner.

Benefits of Social Emotional
Learning
 According to CASEL (Collaborative for Academic,
Social and Emotional Learning) the KEY findings
linking social and emotional learning include;
 Improved ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE and educational
outcomes including a increase on
standardized test.
 Increased student engagement in school
 Decreased behaviors that interfere with learning
 Decreased conduct problems and emotional distress.
