  6. 6. Spinning is the twisting together of drawn-out strands of fibers to form yarn, and is a major part of the textile industry. The yarn is then used to create textiles, which are then used to make clothing and many other products.
  7. 7. Operation in Blow Room
  8. 8.  Blow room is the starting of the spinning operation where the fiber is opened, cleaned, mixed,  micro dust removed and evened thus passed to carding machine without increasing fiber rupture,   fiber neps, broken seed particles and without removing more good fibers.  The basic functions of blow room are opening, cleaning, dust removal, blending and evenly feeding
  9. 9.  To open the compressed layer of bale of cotton or any staple fiber.  To blend different varieties of cotton in the desired proportion to prepare the raw material of spinning process.  To extract the impurities like: broken seeds, seeds, short fibers, husks, immature fibers,
  10. 10.  Opening ◦ Opening is the first operation within the blow room in which the cottons are opened ◦ Opening is also related to cleaning as where is opening there is also cleaning.  Cleaning ◦ Cotton contains up to 18% trash in most cases. To clean the material it is unavoidable to remove as much fiber as much waste. ◦ Therefore it is necessary to measure the amount of the waste removed and its composition. As it is of high importance also called cleaning efficiency. .
  11. 11.  Dust removal  It has to be kept in mind that impurities can only be eliminated from surfaces of tufts.  Lap forming
  12. 12. Blending & Mixing  Mixing:  It is generally meant as the intermingling of different classes of fibers of the same grade  Blending:  It is meant as the intermingling of different kinds of fibers or different grade of same fibers

  17. 17. Model: UNIFLEX B-60 Brand : RIETER Work : PORCOFINE OPENER Origin : SWITZERLAND
  18. 18. Operation in Carding Machine
  19. 19.  Carding is a mechanical process that disentangles, cleans and intermixes fibers to produce a continuous web or sliver suitable for subsequent processing. This is achieved by passing the fibers between differentially moving surfaces cover  Features Carding plays a crucial role in all spinning cycles, and its role is never more central than in the woolen spinning cycle, in which it incorporates different functions, all essential in order to obtain the level of quality required of the product.
  20. 20. Removing Neps Removing Short fibers Removing Dust Separate Good Quality Fibers
  21. 21. RIETER CARDING MACHINE
  22. 22. Draw frame is a machine for combining and drawing slivers of a textile fiber (as of hemp for rope manufacture or cotton for spinning). Drawing is the operation by which slivers are blended, doubled and leveled. In short staple spinning the term is only applied to the process at a draw frame.
  23. 23. Drafting: It is the process of increasing length per unit weight of sliver. Doubling: The process of combing two or more carded sliver into a single form is called doubling. Drawing: In the cotton industry the term is applied exclusively to processing on the draw frame, where the operation is one of doubling and drafting. Drawing= Drafting + Doubling.  
  24. 24. Lap forming: •To transfer the opened & cleaned fibers into a sheet form of definite width and uniform unit length which is called Lap •To roll the lap of predetermined length in a cylindrical shape around a lap pin
  25. 25.  This is the last step of blowing section
  26. 26. It is the process of separation of long desirable fibre of same length from the short fibres, neps and all remaining foreign materials of the fibre stuck. The fibres also become straight and parallel.
  27. 27.  Reduce Hairiness of yarn  Improve yarn smoothness  Improve uniformity and strength
  28. 28.  Combing is a method for preparing carded fiber for spinning
  29. 29.  Simplex is an intermediate process in which fibers are converted into low twist sliver called roving.  Objects  To draft the sliver to reduce weight per unit length  To insert small amount of twist to strengthen the roving to prevent breakage during next processing.
  30. 30. Operation in RING FRAME
  31. 31. Ring Frame The ring spinning machine is used in the textile industry to simultaneously twist staple fibers into yarn and then wind it onto bobbins for storage. The yarn loop rotating rapidly about a fixed axis generates a surface referred to as “balloon”
  32. 32. Idealized twisting system Higher yarn strength can be achieved Any type of fiber can be spun
  33. 33. Low production Machine generates more heat
  34. 34. OPERATION IN RING FRAM
  35. 35.  Textile testing is the term for a whole series of tests that examine the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of textiles. These tests are sometimes done before a textile goes into widespread use, or they're done on textiles arriving from other countries for sale in US markets. Countries like the United States have established standards for what should and should not be in textile products. Tests can show whether companies making textiles are in compliance or not.
  36. 36. Our journey was awesome and it was a great opportunity for us to visit a spinning mill . It helps us to know about spinning sector of textile . The managing director was helpful and friendly too. He offered us to join his company after finishing our B.Sc . But there was lack of fans and lights . If it can be possible to recover the problem then it would be a great help for the workers as long as the company .
