A computer is an electronic device
that processes data, converting it
into information that is useful to
people. Any computer regardless of
its type that is controlled by
programmed instructions, which
gives the
machine a purpose and tell it what
to do

11. Hardware-electric, electronic and mechanical equipment that makes up the computer. It is
tangible and visible. Example: CPU (Central Processing Unit, Mouse, Keyborad,
Speaker, Camera, Printer and etc.

12. COMPUTER COMPONENTS-SOFTWARE
Software-is the series of instruction that tells the hardware how to perform
the task. Without a software the computer is useless because it needs
instruction to process data.

14. CATEGORY OF SOFTWARE
System Software-consist of programs that controls the operations of
the computer and it’s devices, serve as the interface between user and
computer’s hardware.
1.Operating System-contains the instruction that coordinates all of
the activities of hardware devices. Ex. Windows 8, Windows 7
2.Utility Programs- a type of system software that performs a
specific task to manage computer and it’s devices.
3. User Interface- controls how data and
instructions are entered and how information is
presented. It is known as GUI( Graphical User
Interface).

15. Application Software
consist of programs designed to perform specific task for
users.

16. COMPUTER COMPONENTS-PEOPLEWARE
Peopleware- any human being that pertains the communication towards the computer.
It could be in the form of using the computer by their own free will-(user) and job
description (personnel).Example: User-students, public, government employee.
Personnel-IT Teacher, Computer technician, Computer Trouble-shooter and etc.
