3. Joy Division- Best Of The best of album cover is a very plain but very effective album cover. With the band being so far away in the album represents that they wanted to be far away from fame. The fence is very dark compared to the white snow and sky.
4. Word Gets Around- Stereophonics This album “word gets around” is one of Stereophonics later albums and the artwork is very relevance to the album name. Its’ called word gets around and on the album it has picture of an ear, eye and mouth. These are different ways words can be spread. Also at the top it has pictures of hands doing sign language, this to is how words get spread around. Finally the writing at the bottom saying the album name is another way how words are spread around.
5. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace- Foo Fighters The album artwork for this album cover is a political message because it is a bomb at the top and at the bottom is an amplifier tube which is used in amps. This is saying that the album is going to be a powerful political message even though the songs in the album don’t give the same affect as the album cover.
6. Recovery- Eminem The image used in this album cover, I think, is a very strong message Eminem is saying to his fans. The image of Eminem walking down a road and the album is called Recovery with the O is a medical sign. This is used because he is walking don the road to recovery. In his songs he talks about recovery from using the accent in his previous albums. Also with only Eminem being in picture means that he’s by himself recovering. From the artwork you can’t really tell that is a rap CD because you don’t actually know its Eminem walking down the road. Its not like your average rap CD artwork. The text fits well with the album artwork because it is put in the top right and the colours don’t clash and it looks good there.
7. Recovery- Eminem The back cover of the album doesn’t look anything like the front because the back looks more like a rap album and it has EMINEM welcomes you to Detroit. This is where Eminem lives and it could link in with his recovery because it could mean that he’s welcoming you back to a changed person.
