one ton or more of that
material per week.

Elementary and Secondary Schools
◦ Students dispose an average of 0.5 lbs of food waste per
week.
◦ If you have 4,000 students enrolled:
◦ 0.5lbs/student/week * 4,000 students = 2,000 lbs/week = 1 ton of food
waste/week
