how does the living system evolve from disorder to order? how does it evolve from compromised health and disease (i.e., disrupted ease of flow of information and energy) to optimal health, orderedness, and ease of flow? we know, from the second law of thermodynamics (entropy), that closed systems will tend to "run down" over time, devolving from order to disorder but the living system is an open system and therefore ever receptive to regulatory input from the outside, which input will prompt ongoing mobilization of the system's adaptive (homeostatic) mechanisms, thereby enabling the system to evolve, over time, from less order to more order, from disorder to order, from chaos to coherence
