1. What would happen if The
Francoist Regimn was
presented nowadays?
By Marcos Garcia 3D
2. Historical context
• During the Francoist government in Spain (1939-1975), various
policies and measures were implemented that characterized the
regime. Some of the main features of the Francoist government were
and’d be the following:
3. Main points
• As a right sided extremist ideologies, Francoist propoursals’d be based in 5 main points: -----------
Authoritarianism and represion
• -Spanish nationalism
• - Economic autarky
• -Authoritarianism and repression
• - International isolation
• - Catholicism
4. 1. Spanish nationalism
The use of languages such as Catalan, Basque,
or Galician in public institutions was
prohibited, and those who used them’d be
persecuted.
1. The Francoist government promoted strong Spanish
nationalism, emphasizing the unity of Spain and the superiority of
Castilian culture and language over other regional languages and
cultures such as the muslim one.
5. 3. Economic autarky
3. Economic autarky: For much of Franco's rule, Spain
adopted an economic policy of autarky, which involved
isolation from international trade and a good state
intervention in the economy. Tariff barriers’d be established,
modern and new ways of industrialization would be
promoted, and sectoral autarkies, such as food autarky’d be
encouraged.
New lakes will be made to amount
water and make energy from the
waterfallings
6. Authoritarianism and repression
• The Franco regime’d be based on an authoritarian and repressive political system. Civil liberties and
democratic guarantees’d be suppressed, censorship’d be implemented, and those considered political
dissidents’d be persecuted.
• Extra-lenguajes such as Catalan, Basque… would be banned and prersecuted.
• For example, Carles Puigdemont will finally be arrested and probably executed.
7. International isolation
• The Francoist regime’d face extensive international rejection due to its dictatorial and repressive nature
• During the early years, Spain’d be lighly isolated from the international community and excluded from
international organizations, uniting with other right sided nations.
• Can happen that but the thing is that shurely’d happen as in Italia, almost nothing.
8. Catholicism
Catholicism as the official religion: Francoism established
Catholicism as the official religion of the State.
A close relationship between the Church and the regimn’d be
promoted, and a privileged role’d be granted to the Catholic
Church in society, which’d reflect aspects such as education,
marriage, or moral censorship.
9. +
-First of all I think that thoose right extremist ideologies are difficult to be presented nowadays.
-Personally I think that this last point’d be imposible because nowadays the faith in religions has been
loosed a lot.
I think that:
• Spanish society level would get lower in some aspects such as inclusión, but also’d won in objective
clarity. Also the level of immigration would get lower a lot, which’d have it’s hight and lows.
• Spanish economy’d maintain more or les equal.
• Spanish politics level would get lower as the number of posible thought’d get dissapear unless
revolution.
