10. Selection in Three Steps
• Written examination by UPSC, New Delhi
• Interview by Services Selection Board
• Medical by Army / Air Force / Navy Hospitals
11. NDA Examination
• Paper I: Mathematics: (Arithmetic, Mensuration,
Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics).
• Paper II: General Ability Test:
Part A—English
Part B—General Knowledge (Physics,
Chemistry, General Science, History, Freedom
Movement, Geography, Current Events etc.).
12. Interview and Medical
• Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews at
Bhopal ,Bangalore or Allahabad.
• Duration - five days
• Psychological Tests ; Group Tests and
interviews.
• Successful candidates undergo medical tests
lasting 3 to 5 days
• Candidates recommended by the SSB and
declared medically fit, will be nominated for
training in order of merit.
13. Training Duration
4 years for Army ; 5 years for Navy & AF
Training is totally free
( Stipend is paid for one year)
14. ARMY 10+2 (PCM) Technical
• Permanent commission in the Technical Branch.
• Age Limit: Above 16 .5 years & below 19 .5 years
• Physical Standards : Height min 157 cm, Wt as per
chart
• Eligibility: Candidates who have 10+2 (PCM) certificate
with minimum 70% aggregates marks in PCM shall be
eligible for this entry. ( 88 % is usually cut off)
• SELECTION: By SSB - No written exam
• COMMISSION: in technical branches i.e., EME, Signals,
Engineers as Lieutenant (Rs 70,000 pm) + perks
15. 10 +2 Technical Entry
• Training duration : 5 years. ( 4 + 1 )
• Basic Military Training : 1 year at IMA, Dehradun.
• Technical Training:
– Phase 1- 3 years at Army Technical Colleges
– Phase 1(a) – Passing out Parade at IMA
– Phase 2 - 1 year after PoP
– ALL cadets are given a B Tech Degree – all expenses
are paid by the Government
17. 10 +2 Technical Entry
• Award of Degree: The candidates will be
awarded B Tech Engineering degree after
successful completion of Phase 2 of Training.

19. AFMC
• Armed Forces Medical College provides training
to under-graduate and post-graduate medical
and nursing students with assured career
prospects in the defence services.
• The institute was set up on 01 May 1948 on the
recommendations of the BC Roy Committee.
• Provides a sustainable and steady intake of
medical officers for the Indian Armed Forces.
• The institute is affiliated to the Maharashtra
University of Health Sciences and is recognized

26. Selection
