There are many who I would like to thank for their help and support as I worked on this
book. Some helped directly, some merely inspired me by the work they have done before
me. My journey probably began with the first Tarot deck I was given, which was Aleister
Crowley’s “Book of Thoth.” I received it because of my obsession with art, mythology and
symbolism. Crowley had persuaded Lady Frieda Harris to paint a tarot deck according to
his magical philosophy. I wonder if she anticipated that it would take her four years to ac-
complish this tour de force. I certainly didn’t think it would take me five years to create the
art and text for “The Galactic SuperWave tarot.” Manley P. Hall’s, “Analysis of Tarot Cards,”
relates that after the destruction of the Serapeum in Alexandria, the priests saved the Book
of Thoth, (the Tarot) from the burning library. The priests used large images of the 22 ma-
jor arcana as a way to teach the secrets of life and death to the spiritual aspirant. Although
some dispute this as a fact it inspired me to create large paintings of the Tarot with the same
intention.

If Rachel Pollack, author, artist, teacher, lecturer, poet, and leader of workshops in the Tarot
field had not seen my art I would not have even considered creating another Tarot deck. But
it was Faith Javane and Dusty Bunker’s book, “Numerology and the Divine Triangle” that
gave me my ‘divine’ inspiration to continue. It was a great relief to find a synthesis of eso-
teric numerology, astrology and the Tarot in one book. Each of the numbers from 1 to 78
is explained as a temporary number vibration, in terms of its astrological correspondence
and in terms of its Tarot symbolism. “Numerology and the Divine Triangle” is the book to
which all books on the subject will be compared from now on. I am thankful to Rosemary
Ellen Guiley’s “The Mystical Tarot,” which introduced me to all the possible theories of the
origins of the Tarot for she, like me, enjoys solving any mystery. Just when things became
really tough my sci-fi scriptwriter cousin (Godz Garden epic) JJ Diambrini-Palazzii helped
me keep the text lean and mean. I’m deeply grateful to Olive Fadda for guiding me through
those dark days when I felt like giving up. What a pleasure it was to see five years of my work
finally take form under her editorial guidance. The final imprimatur came from Timothy
Freke who, while writing to a tight deadline, took the time to let me know that he really
appreciated the wonderful detail in the images and would very much endorse the cards.
And last but not least my wife Carol was divinely guided to expose me to the latest message
from the universe on any particular day. Without her steadfast support this book would not
exist.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Just in time for the ‘great changes’ prophesized by the Mayan Calendar and
the Tarot, Hugh Colmer, artist and philosopher, has completed his “Opus
Magnum” on the subject. The Tarot belongs to the same iconographic tradi-
tion as Egyptian hieroglyphics and is a Perfect Language of Images. Punc-
tuated with 78 stunning images replete with ancient symbolism “The Galac-
tic Super Wave Tarot” delves into the mystery of a greater unseen “Power,”
that not only exists, but controls the everything of who and what we are.

Hugh possesses an array of talents that have led him from agent/producer of
art and photography to the investigation of comparative myth and religion.
Inspired by his initial searches, he co-wrote a novel with Anthony Masters in
1995 called “Hidden Gods: The Doorway,” wherein a news photographer is
on an urgent quest to find the secrets of Atlantis encoded into the Great Pyra-
mid.

During Hugh’s examination of myth and religion, he realized that the Cross
and the Circle were the most profound symbols of all time and so inspired him
to register The Crosscircle Group to publish books and writings on spiritual
‘Truth.’ His core inspiration and commitment is to share the wisdom of the
ancients, like that found in the ‘Book of Thoth’ and its subsequent incarnations
as the Tarot. Like those who were part of the Knights Templar, he is dedicated
to uncovering and sharing the Truth of the Ages, which is the raison d’etre for
the art and text he created for “The Galactic SuperWave Tarot.”

Hugh and his wife Carol run a spiritual retreat center in Windham, NY.
The Power Of Oracles: The Tarot

O
racles commune with the universe and are as relevant as they ever were for the oracle is where
the individual soul communes with the Universal Soul.. Whereas logic speaks to the logical
left side of our brain, oracles communicate through symbol and image, directly to the in-
tuitive right-side of the brain. We are overwhelmed with media input. We need to attain equanimity
by stimulating and using the artistic/symbolic right-side of the brain which will give balance to life.
Oracle systems like the Tarot and I Ching are recommended by Carl Jung who worked extensively
with them. Write the results down in your Journal regularly, By doing so, you enhance your intuition
and place yourself in direct communion with Universal Consciousness.

T he Tarot is a symbolic picture book considered to be a spiritual language of ‘Ageless Wisdom’.
Sacred symbolism has been a bridge from the known to the unknown and vice versa. It has been
the human tool used to try to explain the unknowable. In the process of creating these particular im-
ages I have been influenced by the Golden Dawn adepts who used the major arcana as pathways into
the mind, rather than as a means of divination. Like Aleister Crowley’s Tarot, this deck incorporates
symbolism from Hindu, Egyptian, Greek, Christian, and Eastern religions. I have used unusual im-
agery in this book because I have no doubt that the majority of myths and religions have a common
origin. Colonel James Churchward expounds on this idea in his book “The Sacred Symbols of Mu” in
which he discusses the Sacred Inspired Writings of Mu. (Lemuria) including: The teachings of Thoth,
Osiris, Moses, and Jesus. He notes how Moses condensed the forty-two questions of the Osirian Mys-
teries into the Ten Commandments and how Jesus condensed the texts to suit the language of his day.

T his Tarot is more universal than many contemporary decks because it represents more than one
particular philosophical point of view; most other decks only focus on one. This Tarot, offers in-
sights and keys to a system of transformation that is attuned to the cosmic energies surrounding us at
this time. It is encoded with symbolism of the Great Celestial Conjunction. Quiet meditation on each
of the cards will awaken within each person, personal insights to support the transformation that must
take place within each soul. The 22 Major Arcana (Secrets) relate to the “universal principles” of life
and “archetypal” personality types. Twelve cards represent the signs of the zodiac and ten represent the
planets in our solar system. They are multi-dimensional as they portray the gods and goddesses from
many civilizations representing different states of consciousness.

T he less significant other fifty-six cards, called the “Minor Arcana,” are divided into four suits:
Wands and Swords (masculine) and Cups and Pentacles (feminine) and have correspondences
with numerology and the ten periods (Decans) of astrology as they affect your daily life. Carl Jung,
founder of analytical psychology, equated the human mind with the minor arcana’s four functions;
thinking, feeling, sensation and intuition. Jung defined the unconscious mind as both collective and
individual.

W hen you meditate on a Tarot image you will sense an invisible vibration from its symbolic im-
ages. The Tarot is the home of your psyche. Its symbolic images activate and speak to a deep
intuitive part of yourself, which the logical, conscious mind cannot recognize. This part of you is
known as the subconscious inner self whose deep, highly personal feelings and qualities provide the
motivation behind your actions and reactions. The subconscious provides you with your energy for life
and often gives inspiration and feeds a sense of purpose. The subconscious is that part of you which is
in tune with the real energy of the world – the energy that created and sustains the world.

The conscious part of ourselves is often described as the ego. It provides you with the important abili-
ties of logic, reason and judgment. The conscious mind is the filter through which your subconscious
self is expressed in the world. The conscious mind helps you to be ‘present’ in the everyday physical
world and to interact with the experiences and people in it. It also helps give form to the intuitive im-
pressions, feelings and creative urges, which arise from the subconscious. The Subconscious and the
Conscious minds are often described as your Right (Intuitive/Creative) and Left (Logic/Language)
brains. Tarot Cards transmit to the conscious (left brain) mind through the images and symbols by pro-
viding a necessary infrastructure. The conscious mind views the images on any given card and then ac-
cesses all previous left-brain logic such as meanings assigned to the symbols, the card’s place within the
spread, etc. However, logic does not value the intuitive, deeper meanings within the cards. The intuitive
right-brain during the meditative process can access the higher knowledge and this is the real purpose
of studying the cards. It is to the unlimited area of our minds that the symbols on the Tarot cards speak.
The cards are a tool to discover and bring to the surface the subconscious patterns and workings of your
inner worlds. By understanding your deepest motivations and inspirations, you can then work to create
in your conscious world the highest potential of your soul. The cards provide a key to access the deeper
mysteries of our lives. It was from the subconscious level and the ages of studying the inner worlds that
the ancients originally found an amazing way of developing instinctive, intuitive abilities.

A s you immerse yourself in the imagery of the Tarot, you will see that in time you will no longer
have to think about the meanings of the cards, for that information will be automatically avail-
able. You will have given your logical mind a meaningful structure to concentrate on and therefore it
will no longer try to interfere with your right-brain’s deepening intuitive abilities. This may take some
time, hence the term “patience is a virtue.” It is the first of many virtues you will strengthen and develop
as you further your spiritual path. As ancient texts declare, “If you would speak with the gods you must
first learn the language of the gods.” The Tarot incorporates all the symbolism from the science of these
ancient civilizations so it is appropriate to use archetypal images from India, Egypt, and Greece. The
Fool, whose designation is zero, is generally portrayed as the wanderer with his bundle and staff. If
Court de Gebelin is correct in associating the card with Ain Soph, the incomprehensible force in the
universe, then the Fool would logically be represented as the Super Soul.

T he Tarot encodes the macrocosmic and the individual microcosmic as in the Hermetic axiom,
“As above. So below.” Every card has a cosmological correspondence like that we are born with.
After birth, we attract and repel certain energies, which is why we have cycles of positive and negative
relationships. And because our own actions constantly create karma we have our ups and downs in
life. As long as we remain unaware of these forces we are subject to them. Only we can overcome and
transform them. When we transform the positive and negative energies operating within us we can
control our own fate. The world is also subject to the same forces from the cosmos. Everything that
happens on earth is a direct response to the interaction between a cosmic plan and human karma. H.P.
Blavatsky (HPB) believed the arcana of the Tarot were keys to the science of the soul which teaches us
how to force the invisible to become visible.
T he term arcana is reminiscent of the spirit of hieroglyphs residing in the inner sanctum of the
heart. It is only in the heart that the inner spiritual truth that can transform us. HPB believes that
the Tarot may be used to create anything, even a new universe. The fact that we question the Tarot as to
whether it be a method or a doctrine shows the limitation of our "three dimensional mind," The Tarot
represents Nature in all its infinite possibilities, and there is in it as in Nature, not one but all potential
meaning. And these meanings are ever-changing, so the Tarot cannot be specifically this or that.

W e are surrounded by false concepts of the world and the Tarot
investigates the world as it is and encourages us to accept that
without judgment. The Tarot is a summary of the Hermetic Sciences—
the Cabala, Alchemy, Astrology, and Magic: all parallel symbolical
systems of psychology and metaphysics. All these sciences, attributed
to Hermes Trismegistus, or Thoth or Enoch, represent one system of
a deep psychological investigation into man's relationship with God,
(Universal Consciousness). and to the visible, physical world. A true
alchemist spoke of gold in the soul of man which is called the Kingdom
of Heaven in the New Testament, and Nirvana in Buddhism. And a true
astrologer spoke of constellations and planets in the soul of man, i.e., of
the qualities of the human soul and its relationship to God and to the world. And when a true Cabalist
spoke of Jehovah, Yod, He, Vau and He (IHVH), he was aware that God is in the soul of all forms that
exist. The world, according to Cabalists, consists of four principles forming the 'One' which give form
to everything. Every phenomenon consists of (The Word,--Logos or the four letters (I. H. V. H). These
four letters have a deep symbolical meaning. The first letter "I" expresses first cause, motion, energy,
the second letter, H, expresses, inertia, "not I;" the third, V, the balance of opposites, "form"; and the
fourth, H, potential or latent energy. Therefore the study of the law of the four letters, (I. H. V. H). is a
powerful way to raise consciousness: for Universal Consciousness (God) is present in everything. The
Name of God, the Word or Logos is the origin of the universe. Logos also means Reason; the Word is
the Logos, the Reason of everything.

                          Gnomes, Undines, Sylphs, and Salamanders.
T here is a total correspondence between the Cabala, Alchemy, Magic, and the Tarot. In Alchemy
the four elements which constitute the real world are called fire, water, air and earth; these fully
correspond in significance with (I. H. V. H). In Magic they are expressed as the four spirits: elves (or
salamanders), undines, sylphs and gnomes. The water element of the ancient philosophers metamor-
phosed into hydrogen of modern science; the air has become oxygen; the fire, nitrogen; the earth,
carbon. Just as visible Nature is populated by an infinite number of living creatures, so, according to
Paracelsus, the invisible, spiritual counterpart of visible Nature is inhabited by a host of Nature spirits.
Paracelsus divided these people of the elements into four distinct groups, which he called gnomes,
undines, sylphs, and salamanders. He taught that they were really living entities, many resembling hu-
man beings in shape, and inhabiting worlds of their own, unknown to man because our undeveloped
senses were incapable of functioning beyond the limitations of the grosser elements. The civilizations
of Greece, Rome, Egypt, China, and India believed implicitly in satyrs, sprites, and goblins. They popu-
lated the sea with mermaids, the rivers and fountains with nymphs, the air with fairies, the fire with
Lares and Penates, and the earth with fauns, dryads, and hamadryads. These Nature spirits were held
in the highest esteem, and offerings were made to them.

O ccasionally, as the result of the sensitiveness of the devotee, they became visible. Many authors
wrote concerning them in terms which signify that they had actually seen these inhabitants of
Nature's finer realms. A number of authorities are of the opinion that many of the gods worshiped by
the pagans were commanding invisible elementals. As the Greeks placed the letters of their alphabet
with their corresponding numbers upon the various parts of the body of their humanly represented
Christos, so too the Tarot cards have an analogy not only in the parts and members of the universe but
also in the divisions of the human body.

T he Tarot must be considered (1) as complete hieroglyphs, each representing a distinct principle,
law, power, or element in Nature; (2) as the effect of one agent operating upon another; and (3) as
vowels and consonants of a philosophic alphabet. The laws governing all phenomena are represented
by the symbols upon the Tarot cards, whose numerical values equal the numerical equivalents of the
phenomena. As every structure consists of certain elements, so the Tarot represents the components
of philosophy. Irrespective of the science or philosophy with which the student is working, the Tarot
can be identified with the essentials of his subject according to mathematical and philosophical laws.
“An imprisoned person,” writes Eliphas Levi, “with no other book than the Tarot, if he knew how to use
it, could in a few years acquire universal knowledge, and would be able to speak on all subjects with
unequalled learning and inexhaustible eloquence. “ (See Transcendental Magic.)

T he Tarot has four suits—wands, cups, swords and pentacles. Thus every suit represents one of the
elements, and controls one class of spirits . The wands are fire or elves (or salamanders); the cups
are water or undines; the swords are air or sylphes; and pentacles, earth or gnomes. In every suit the
King means the first principle or fire; the Queen—the second principle or water; the Prince—the third
principle or air, and the Princess—the fourth principle or earth. The ace means fire; the two means wa-
ter; the three, air; the four-earth. Then again the four-is the first principle, the five the second etc.

W hen ‘Divine Truth’ in each card is assimilated into consciousness a transformation within the
essence of our soul triggers a release of specific hormones within the ductless glands that secrete
onto the surface of our body rather than through a duct. The resulting biophysical changes produce
higher vibrations in the cell structures throughout the entire body. It's through raising the conscious-
ness of the cells that Universal Consciousness becomes the guiding force of your bio-computer.

T he Galactic SuperWave Tarot evolved over a period of five years. and I considered the Tarot to be
just a unique and divinely inspired source of guidance. Then I read it is also a profound body of
cosmic knowledge sequentially created as an individual guide for attaining Sri Aurobindo’s Supra-
mental state in this lifetime. The Galactic SuperWave Tarot shares Sri Aurobindo's philosophy that our
souls are destined to take form in a lighter spiritual 'body'. All sages agree that to be liberated one must
not identify with the body-mind complex. There is only one Mind and that is the Universal Mind. We
think our mind is real but it is just a cacophony of thoughts. God stirs in the silence of the heart when
the physical mind is at rest. When the power is eliminated from our thoughts the transition begins The
Mind dissolves the false mind into the Universal Mind.

J oe Ivory, in an article on the Mystical Tarot, noted that the lectures of Carl Jung given during his
early European tours around the turn of the century taught that the Major Arcana (first 22 trump
cards) contained hidden symbolism and instructions on how, what his contemporary, Sri Aurobindo
called, the ‘Supramental’ consciousness-force, can spark a biochemical process that replicates the origi-
nal Supramental cell which has been dormant since the beginning of evolution. As the Greeks placed
the letters of their alphabet—with their corresponding numbers—upon the various parts of the body
of their humanly represented Christos, so the Tarot is also an analogy of the parts of the human body,
which is a microcosm of the universe.

T arot imagery can change the consciousness of the cells in the human body which contain clues to
our personalities, tastes, and history, independent of genetic codes or brain cells. That is, every-
thing that has ever happened to us is recorded in the cells of our body, and remembered —like files in a
computer. Imagine how wonderful it is to share these higher principles of transformation so you might
commence your journey through the 22 steps of the pure knowledge of the Tarot in your own physical
body. The Tarot is invaluable when all psycho therapeutic work has failed to determine the next step to
be taken for the souls evolution for the images will identify the karmic challenge and even in the time
frame in which it occurred.
1. The Magician: Mars and Mercury

T o the magician the magical act and imaginative act is one and the same. The magician
knows with certainty that for a change to occur he must will it to happen and firmly believe
that it will happen. Here it may be noted that magic and religion are akin: both require belief
that a miracle will occur. The planet Mercury corresponds to the Magician and Mars is assigned
to number one. The energies of both planets must combine in order for the Magician to fulfill
his mission in transforming you. Mercury, the primary symbol for the intellect, must conquer
the ego if the heart is to rule the mind. The Magician teaches that if you live your life in selfless
love and service your personality will merge with the soul. But the term magi, or mage, actu-
ally comes from ancient Sanskrit and an Assyrian, Babylonian, and Persian term, from ‘mag’ or
‘maha,’ and the magi were priests of the sun, priests which is a symbol of the Christos. So the
real magician is a priest. Most importantly, the real magician follows the magic of his inner
maha-atman.” ‘Maha’ means ‘great’ in Sanskrit: Maha-atman—great spirit, great soul.

Hermes, the Magician, is holding the caduceus with twin serpents wound about a staff, repre-
senting the double helix of DNA, the building blocks of life. It is our cells’ store of coded ‘digital’
information, and each strand of DNA itself provides the pattern for building a new strand.
Many scholars now believe that the caduceus is also an embodiment of our DNA. The Magi-
cian has discovered the secret codes to life. He can draw upon his inner strength to make a goal
a reality for he has at his disposal all the elements and their counterparts: the cup, indicating
water and imagination; the sword, indicating air and intellect; the pentacle, earth and the body,
and the caduceus/wand, fire and will-power. In his lower aspect Hermes mirrors the trickster
in us—thus illustrating that even our best qualities have their shadow side. The Magician rep-
resents the powers that you possess to create meaning and purpose in your life. He tells us that
this creative power is in and around you and always available. He teaches how things work in
the world by understanding the structure underlying its cycles and rhythms.

Challenge: Although you are eloquent, charismatic, clever, witty, inventive and persuasive,
beware of dominating those around you. Although these qualities are not generally criticized by
society they are different personalities that need to be unified under the guidance of your inner
guru. Your pioneering spirit is in reality a way to avoid facing these layers of illusion and can
prevent you from discovering that you are not these personas. Pay attention to everyday life.
Remember all the power you possess comes from a higher level. Focus on what you want and
eliminate those things, which distract you. You have abused power and you have an overpow-
ering ego, which makes you selfish, arrogant, and insensitive. Your inflexibility causes you to
row against the tide and sets you up for failure and loneliness. Your lack of willpower confuses
your life’s purpose. Do not use the forces of nature for selfish purposes. You are blocking your
creative energies. Learn by experimentation – try new things.

2. The High Priestess: Vulcan/Uranus and the Moon

T he High Priestess, Isis, was revered as the “Great Enchantress” who used her wings to
transmit the breath of life to Osiris after he was murdered by his evil brother Seth. Isis
is wearing the solar disk in between the bull’s horns associated with crossing of the ecliptic
and Milky Way. The white and black colors of the pillars represent the two opposite sides
of the Milky Way where the ecliptic and Milky Way cross. The dark pillar can be associated
with the Dark Rift near the Sagittarius-Scorpio nexus while the white pillar can be associ-
ated with the Gemini-Taurus nexus. The Sun resides here in between the ‘horns of Taurus’
and this is the place where the Sun resides at the Great Celestial Conjunction at the sum-
mer solstice in 2012.

The number one is masculine and the number two is feminine. Those people that believe
in God as masculine and reject the feminine aspect of it, are half-atheists, because God is
male-female. So in order for us to be a complete theist we have to understand that we have
to worship not only God as masculine, but the Goddess, the Divine Mother, its feminine
aspect, in order to be complete. The moon rules the High Priestess and the number two is
ruled by Uranus. Vulcan, god of blacksmiths, stokes the fire of determination to ensure that
ideas are not extinguished. The High Priestess symbolizes the power of the unconscious
forces in the world that give form and purpose. She has experienced life so she has empathy
for your struggles. This demonstrates that life survives death. By taking on new forms she
can lead to deep wisdom, but she can also lead to madness.

Number two makes you acutely conscious of others and as you are socially aware of people
your stimulation is derived from them. This makes you a diplomat, go-between, mediator
or peacemaker. Your best service is through your cooperative nature. This key means that
you intuitively understand the answer to a problem although not always consciously. You
may well become the power behind the throne. The number two suggests more than one,
yet in reality we are all One.

Challenge: You should pay a great deal of attention to your health through your eating
habits so that you have the energy to be of service to others. Seek new and hidden paths
to wisdom. Learn to question the lessons of the unconscious for it does not always lead to
wisdom. Question how you have divided your world by judging yourself and others. Your
excessive focus on unimportant details and perfectionism can prevent you from listen-
ing to your intuition. This will cause passiveness, weakness, and fear of life. You may be
expressing your emotions in a negative way. You lack self-confidence and are therefore
indecisive and afraid to make decisions. You can be deceitful, two-faced, oversensitive, and
easily depressed if your dreams are thwarted by those close to you.

3. The Empress: Jupiter and Venus

T he Empress, Raja Rajeshwari (Devi), is honored as Queen of Queens. Devi is the life
force and all-powerful goddess of the spheres. Her smile gives a feeling of confidence.
She is adored and feared, the focus of every conscious and unconscious breath, the life
force which unites Brahma, the creator of the universe, the power of Vishnu, who protects
and sustains the universe, and the power of Shiva, the destroyer of all the deities in the
universe at the end of a kalpa. When Shiva receives permission from Devi He reinstates
the gods as they were before the dissolution of the universe. Devi has a halo of the-five
headed serpent, Ananta Shesha, who does not change at the end of a kalpa. A kalpa is 4.32
billion years, a “day (only) of Brahma” or one thousand mahayugas, (scientists estimate the
age of the universe at 13.7 billion years). Each kalpa is divided into 14 manvantaras (each
lasting 306,720,000 years). Devi is holding the trishula, a trident that is the emblem of the
god Shiva. The weapon symbolizes the irresistible force of transcendental reality. The three
prongs of the trishula represent Shiva’s three aspects of: creator, preserver, destroyer as well
as the three shakti (powers): will, action and wisdom. Durga, the fearsome aspect of Devi,
also brandishes a trishula in one of her seven hands. This Law of Three irepresents a deep
equilibrium between forces symbolized in the structures of the Tree of Life. There are three
columns upon which hang three triangles, and each triangle is made of three spheres. The
Law of Three is the very structure of the Cabalistic Tree of Life, both within us and outside
of us.

The Empress is pure consciousness itself, the knowledge that returns us to the source of
who you are. She is an aspect of the subconscious mind, ruled by Venus, the main astrologi-
cal symbol for our affections and feelings. Venus works in conjunction with Jupiter to in-
crease productivity, love, abundance, and fertility. The Empress represents the veil of Maya
(illusion). She represents the need to control the cosmic forces that are not controllable and
often represents smothering mothers. She also represents the blood that carries the energy
flowing through all living things.

Challenge: Your natural talents — acting, social work, counseling and the law — give you
a love of life through the pleasure of relationships, entertainment and new experiences but
these talents, if not used properly, can be a diversion from knowing who you really are.
Avoid work that confines you as you need to move around to express yourself in order to
do your best work enthusiastically. It is important to understand that all emotions stem
from the pure essence of love. Thus, fear and hate are its opposite. Pity and sentimentality
represent perversions, contortions or negations of the love quotient. Do not express your
emotions in a negative way because they reinforce negative behavior patterns. As you want
recognition you tend to exaggerate situations so that friendships may well be superficial.
You may try to avoid responsibility and live a life of instant gratification.

4. The Emperor: Earth and Aries
Emperors had the title of God, Deus, or Divus and Popes consider themselves the only
God on earth. Jupiter or Zeus is the son of Chronus—god of time and, like the Hindu
Brahma and the Egyptian Seb he assumes the form of a swan. Popes were called Papa
in the tradition of the Roman god Jupiter, although Zeus, in the mind of ancient Greek
philosophers, was not the supreme God, and always assumed a sacred name with a zodiacal
correlation. Emperor Augustus, the first emperor of Rome adopted the sacred name of
Augustus—an Egyptian name for the river Nile—as his predecessor, Julius, had assumed
the name Caesar, the name of the god, Mars. This is a replica of the ancient Hindu kings
and emperors who take a sacred name from their gods. But when we discover that our own
Spirit has to do its own internal work for Self-realization we discover that he is also a
spiritual warrior. The Cabala relates Chesed, with the Emperor. That’s why, astrologically
speaking, Emperors are ruled by Jupiter.
The first Christian emperor, Constantine was both Christian and Pagan and Christianity
combined the two. He claimed to be a descendent of Helen, the female generative prin-
ciple. He kept pagan festivals after he formed Christianity and dedicated the Church to
the Sophia on the seven hills of the new Rome. The Roman Pontifex Maximus, the Pope,
and the King of the Age is endowed with the holy spirit representing divinity on earth.
The Pope adopted the divine right of priest/kings from Rama and controls all religious
ceremonies. The message of the Ramayana is to make your heart pure and strong and be
convinced that you are One with God.

The Emperor rules the external world that exists outside the conscious elements in the ma-
terial world, the unity and order in your life. His God-like ability enables him to discern the
truth in any given situation. It is his wisdom to handle affairs systematically that has placed
him on the throne. His strength gives stability to accept external forces out of our control.
True intuition is based on number four. This key indicates that you have the ability for lead-
ership and spiritual growth through ideas, experience, higher education, travel, religion
and deep philosophical thought. The Emperor governs the need for honesty, fairness and
respect for the rights and freedom of others. He is a solid foundation in times of change
and uncertainty.

Challenge: Control your own sensual desires and overcome the tendency to be rigid and
inflexible. Examine all external forces that prohibit the fulfillment of your destiny, discard-
ing all outgrown comforting myths. Don’t risk stagnation and keep a ceiling on desires,
which lead to spiritual or material decline. Prepare for unseen difficulties through careless-
ness, impulsive spending and grandiosity. Have compassion for those who you dislike, stop
listening to the head, and listen to the heart. Renunciation leads to joy; attachment brings
discontent. Be in the world, but not of it.

5. Hierophant: Mercury and Taurus

T he Hierophant is Moses and is ruled by (Mercury) and Apis the Bull, Taurus. Moses ,
along with Jehovah, dominates the Torah. He leads the Jews out of slavery, unleashes
the Ten Plagues against Egypt, guides the freed slaves for forty years in the wilderness, car-
ries down the Law from Mount Sinai. Hebrew patriarchs were associated with the signs of
the zodiac. Adam’s son Cain was presided over by Taurus, representing the material mind
which murders Abel’s spiritual mind. This indicates that Cain did not realize his spiritual
Self. The cross with three bars is the emblem of God, penetrating three worlds in order that
birth may be given to all the manifestations of universal life.

Taurus gives determination and power to the Hierophant – the revealer of sacred mysteries
of the Soul. He is the spiritual guide who unlocks the door of hidden knowledge, and can
help in the search for inner truth, the meaning of life and realize the soul’s desires. Mercury/
Hermes rules number five and represents intelligence, movement and communication, the
inner teacher and the inner voice. Sages have always said that ‘Self Realization’ comes when
you awaken to the awareness of the soul. True inner hearing does not involve spirits, clair-
voyance or visions from the astral planes. With the help of Taurus/Mercury, your conscious
mind, studies the facts and places them in your subconscious data base which, in a flash of
realization, sends the analysis back to the conscious mind. This is true intuition based on
reason.

The Hierophant represents the knowledge of what is right and wrong, beyond what the laws
of society deems appropriate. Each soul’s path is unique and you may be guided to tradi-
tional religion, prayer, contemplation and meditation. All ways will take you to the source
of who you are eventually. Ignore the soul at your peril!

Challenge: Assess your spiritual growth and recognize the limitations of fame and glory.
Learn to act and not react, and know that you are more than a collection of five senses.
Don’t take the meaning of events too literally, be gullible, or over analyze everything before
taking action. Look for the deeper meaning to the question. Strive for spiritual truth by
working with the practical aspects of life. Be open to meeting a spiritual teacher who guides
you towards your Real Self, not the ego driven self. This key is a reminder not to stay too
grounded in the material world, as there is a heavy price to pay for deviating from the path
of spiritual truth.

6. The Lovers: Gemini and Venus

T he Lover, Adonis, must make a decision between Aphrodite exposing her breasts (Vice)
and Persephone hiding her breasts (Virtue). Cupid hovers over Adonis aiming his ar-
row at Aphrodite. Cupid aiming his arrow at Aphrodite is interchangeable with Sagittarius,
the archer, aiming his arrow at the heart of the galaxy. Sagittarius points to the Galactic
Center to direct us to the heart of our spirituality. The eagle, Scorpio’s higher form, soars
above Persephone. The constellations of Sagittarius and Scorpio reside on opposite sides of
the heart of the Galactic Center from which the Milky Way is formed.

The Hindu star design formed of two opposed interlocking triangles symbolizes Siva/
Shakti, the union of masculine and feminine principles. Lovers are a union of opposites
but complimentary components. Venus seeks to unite the seemingly opposing forces of
Gemini into harmony. Venus, as the ruler of six, creates the urge for peace and love with
family and friends.

Love is generally understood as romantic, passionate or as the meeting of a new soul-mate.
But, at a deeper level, this key represents personal choices to be made in some sphere of life.
This choice is not an easy one, since there are usually too many options. The Lovers key role
is to relax and access inner wisdom, encouraging surrender to the profound energy of Love,
even if it seems impractical. To dance on the royal road with your ‘Beloved,’ is the most
powerful energy of all. This key urges you to feel the life-giving energy of Love for all those
around you. Pure love is a state of ‘Being.’ All obstacles in life can be overcome through
unconditional love, a force, which is an expression of the soul. Universal love has nothing
to do with infatuation, attachment or lust. When unconditional love is experienced there is
no separation. Love is the totality of ‘Oneness.’

Challenge: It is time to decide between opposing alternatives. Love can be blind! Under-
stand that love is a state of being that animates your total being. Don’t be selfish. Like
attracts like. Being self-consumed leaves nothing to give. Love is not bondage but brings
balance and harmony. Our greatest lessons are learned from the negative patterns mirrored
in our lover. Discontent and jealousy create the martyr. Solve your relationship challenges
by self-enquiry. The key is to discriminate between the true and the false.
6.The lovers
7 The Chariot: Moon and Cancer

T he Chariot, Sanskrit – Vahana, Hebrew – Merkhabah, is the vehicle of Light mentioned
in the Bible by Ezekiel. “Mer” means Light. “Ka” means Spirit. “Ba” means body. The
body is often called the chariot for the inner charioteer, the Soul. Contemplation on the
Chariot guides the divine will of the Soul. The charioteer directs the positive and negative
forces of the black and white sphinxes through his intention to merge the personality with
the Soul. This key falls under the spiritual vibration of number seven, from the Seven days
of Creation to the Seven Seals of Revelation,. The chariot of war is also represented in the
Mahaharata, the most famous portion of this epic story is called the Bhagavad Gita, which
means “The Song of the Lord,” and is a dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna in a chariot
on a battlefield at the very precipice of the earliest nuclear war. The war symbolizes the psy-
chological struggle that the spiritual initiate has to undergo within the mind.

The Chariot, ruled by Cancer, provides protection for the spiritual seeker. However, be-
ware; Cancers are the masters of the art of passive resistance. The Chariot represents the
power of focused intention and is all about motion, and yet, it is often shown as motionless.
On the one hand, the Chariot indicates loyalty and faith and on the other, a motivation to
succeed at any cost. The Chariot stands for the desire for freedom, ambition, the search for
paradise lost, or the need for recognition. This key shows a vast amount of skill (steering
the chariot), but also inexperience (entering an unknown formless world of spirit). On its
most basic level the Chariot implies inner struggle, and an eventual victory through rigor-
ous self-examination.

Challenge: The Chariot warns us against being too focused on material gain. Keep your
intent to gain the self-confidence to leap into the void. You are moving too fast. Pull back
the reigns and slow down. Broaden your world view, avoid spinning wheels, and beware
of working too hard with little to show for it. Achieve your goal one step at a time. Do
not overestimate your own confidence – rather, take time to gain insight, you have much
to learn. Do not be melancholic and learn to control your opposing emotions. This key
gives new motivation or inspiration to solve a stagnant situation. Avoid burnout. You are
too focused on fame and fortune. Remember Phaethon, who took the reigns of the Sun’s
chariot against his father’s advice, burnt the world. Take heed of this key or Zeus will send
you a bolt of lightening to really burn you out. Success can be obtained without the need
for control.
7.The chariot
8. Strength: Saturn and Leo

S trength is symbolized by Samson who portrays spiritual strength by opening the lion’s
jaws to find secret wisdom of Leo within. The allegory makes Samson a symbol of the
Sun with Leo powers. Alisteir Crowly renamed this key ‘Lust’ for he knew that at the sum-
mer solstice Samson, the Sun, is at its most virile and vainly lusts after Delilah (Virgo), the
next sign of the zodiac in September. When summer ends the sun’s rays or golden locks
are cut as it enters into the house of Virgo (Delilah). Virgo’s dominion over Samson is
spiritual for she cuts the rays of the Sun, symbolizing Samson’s life force. This key is about
inner strength of the strong, silent, hero who has the self confidence to know his strength
comes from God

The only two numbers that are eternal are zero and eight representing eternal divinity and
worldly power. The important message of the Strength key is not to give up and to have
the courage to succeed with unfailing optimism. As long as you feel that you’re in a posi-
tion of authority and responsibility, you will do all in your power to justify the confidence
placed in you. You thrive on adversity and dare to think and act bigger than others would
normally dare to. You are a down to earth realist and may be seen as a ‘lion’ of industry,
and in the forefront of cutting edge technologies.

Challenge: Watch your anger and keep your integrity. Don’t be over ambitious. Like trying
to tame a lion, you might get scratched trying to control a situation that involves someone
else or your own lower instincts. Your desire for authority is unfulfilled and you may be-
come lazy or impetuous which may lead to a lack of confidence. Learn to control yourself.
Stop questioning your abilities. Your weaknesses are the worst enemy. Avoid being domi-
neering, ruthless and disruptive. Upheaval is a way of life for you. Develop your spiritual
nature for if the bottom falls out of your material life you will have self-confidence from
knowing your inner self. Acknowledge the power within you.

9. The Hermit: Sun and Virgo

T he Hermit, represented by the Greek philosopher, Pythagoras, taught the mysteries
of Greece, and ancient India which included the magic of numbers, and the heal-
ing powers of music. His philosophy demanded purity and self-mastery. Apollo the Sun
is assigned to the number nine because it is only by following the first eight keys in the
major arcana that the sun’s intellectual enlightenment is reflected in you. Virgo’s keen
discrimination anchors the goal. Nine is the number of completion of a cycle and the
foundation for the next.

The Hermit exemplifies Christ consciousness in physical form. He is the guide to your
inner guru. Physical incarnation is for the sole purpose of aligning Soul with personality.
Contemplate what is really important in a life on overload. Mediation can bring order out
of chaos by seeing what doesn’t work. This key signifies that it is time to examine what
you want rather than what others would like you to have. Hermits are rarely understood
for they walk to the beat of a different drummer, preferring solitude to superficiality.

The similarity between Druidism and Pythagoreanism confirms the legend that Pythagoras
studied not only under Eastern but also under Western or Druidic teachers; and that other
belief, that philosophy came to Greece not only from the East, but also from the Druids.
Druids are the priestly hierarchy among the ancient Celts of Britain, Gaul, and Ireland,
composed of the three Orders of Druids, Bards, and Ovates. Classical references refer to
Druids as possessors of a high wisdom; the very first reference says that Greek philoso-
phy came to the Greeks from the Brahmins of India, the Magi of Persia, the Egyptian
priesthood, and the Druids.
H.P. Blavatsky stated that Druidism was the one branch of the sacred Mysteries of antiquity
in the Western world that had not degenerated; and that during the campaigns of Caesar
and his forces in Gaul, three million Gauls were killed and Druidism was virtually wiped
out there. It is Caesar who is responsible for the current idea that Druids were barbarous
and cruel. Excommunication was their capital punishment. In Gaul in Caesar’s time
Druidism was very highly organized and controlled the whole civilization, a fact Caesar
is known to have deliberately understated, for in many respects Gaulish civilization was
more advanced than Roman.
Challenge: Time spent quietly gives access to the same truth as the Hermit. Overcome
the natural tendency to be shy and reserved. Learn to trust despite deep wounds from
the past, overcome fear of vulnerability and avoid secretiveness. Beware of becoming a
Peter Pan, the perennial child who avoids responsibility in life. Discriminate between
the essential and the trivial. Learn to listen to your inner voice. Don’t be self-absorbed,
selfish, indulgent, or, when crossed, react angrily. Your razor sharp mind is a formidable
weapon. High standards create nervous tension, which makes friends uneasy in your
company. Try to reach out to people with compassion, understanding and wisdom.

10. Wheel of Fortune: Jupiter and Mars

T he Wheel of Fortune symbolizes the upward and downward cycles of our solar sys-
tem, which, according to many legends, has cataclysmic upheavals at the 12,960-year
half-point of its 25,920-year zodiacal orbit around the galaxy centre (the Precession of the
Equinoxes.) Precession was divided into four distinct ages of 6480 years each. Scorpio is
represented by an eagle instead of a scorpion, Leo, Taurus, and Aquarius— are the four
faces mentioned in the Jewish Torah—Ezekiel 1:10 and Revelation 4:7 (TORA). According
to the alchemist, Fulcanelli, both of these books in the Bible warn of great changes. We are
now entering Aquarius. The Oroboros (the serpent of light in the heavens eating its own
tail) represents the Milky Way Galaxy. The Djed (Polar Axis) in the center of the Oroboros
is the bond between Heaven and Earth, evoking geophysical stability at a time of increased
potential for Earth changes. Moira Timms also reminds us that, “according to the texts of
the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the Djed revealed its greatest mystery at the ending of one
world age and the beginning of another.” This image shows two lion-headed sphinxes fac-
ing opposite directions, falling on the Leo/Virgo and Aquarius/Pisces equinox axis and
crossed by the Djed pillar marking the galactic center. This shows that Moira Timms had
intuited the correct orientation for the primal Djed and its connection with the Great Cross
of the galactic alignment in 2012. Ten (X) represents the forces that can disrupt, destroy, or
bless depending on the state of consciousness. Are you prepared for the world to fall apart
when this happens?

The Wheel of Fortune signals a need to understand your inner reality and underscores the
cyclical nature of your spiritual growth and development. The winged sphinx is the eter-
nal arbiter between the cycles of good and evil. Ten begins a new cycle as it is a repetition
of one, which brings a change in fortune. Here we have the Soul’s power of zero working
through One. Jupiter expands the Soul’s spiritual principles. If the wheel of fortune does not
turn you will be stuck

Challenge: Accept the gift of adversity without struggle for it may be followed by success or
failure. Bad fortune comes with overindulgence. Use previous experiences from other lives
to spiritually influence others who do not learn from past mistakes. What is done today
is because of what occurred yesterday and what was done tomorrow will depend on what
occurred today. Analyze past mistakes and learn from them. Today’s challenges are tomor-
row’s opportunities. Do nothing and the universal force will do what’s best for the Soul. Go
with the flow and grow because resistance causes stagnation. Greater satisfaction with life
comes from living in harmony with the cycles and rhythms of the universe.

11. Justice: Uranus and Libra

J ustice, symbolized by the greatest of the Egyptian goddesses Maat, judged the souls of
the dead with her consort, Thoth, scribe of the ‘Ennead’ and negotiator and settler of dis-
putes. He also records every soul who enters the ‘Duat,’ the Underworld and stands by the
scales supervising the weighing of the heart of the deceased, reed brush and palette in hand
ready to note the verdict. Sometimes Thoth is depicted in baboon form on top of those
scales. Justice is a karmic law “for every action there is a consequence,” The Aeon of Maat in
2012 heralds a new golden age of self-realization. Ask yourself, “Who Am I?”

Ma’at personified moral law, order, and truth and was considered as the feminine
counterpart of Thoth depicted as the baboon sitting on the apex of the scales. She is
often represented as standing with Thoth in the boat of Ra when the sun god first rose
above the waters of the primeval space of Nut. She is called the daughter of Ra, the
eye of Ra, lady of heaven, queen of the earth, and mistress of the Underworld, who
guides the course of the sun. Themis, the Greek goddess of order and justice, when
conjoined with Nemesis and Adrasteia preserves balance by adjusting the cause and
effect of karma. When Zeus became the Supreme God he placed Themis and
Dike at His side in the Hall of Justice; Themis symbolized ‘Divine Justice’ and
Dike, portrayed with a staff and balance, human justice. For the Romans, Justitia
was goddess of Justice. She was a virgin living among humans until she became
overwhelmed by the immorality of mortals and transformed into the constella-
tion of Virgo.

Libra is the balance amidst constant change. The importance of this key is to stay in the
present moment with out judging past mistakes and worrying about the future. Libra and
Uranus, emphasized by master number eleven, represent a balanced life when actions are
weighed and measured by the Soul. When the life force is misused dis-ease, accidents, legal
difficulties and impulsive decisions will occur. Saturn’s exaltation of Libra ensures a sense of
justice and integrity. As Libra is ruled by Venus one must communicate through love. Libra
rules the organs of detoxification that keeps the body in balance.

Challenge. Justice signals that your world is dangerously out of balance and needs adjust-
ing. It is important, however, to be aware that most external problems are an externalized
inner conflict. When anger is rarely expressed you explode like a volcano. Don’t escape real-
ity in the oblivion of drugs and alcohol. A constant state of anger occurs when knowledge
of Self is denied. Understand that what you dislike in others is a reflection of something
that needs to be healed in yourself. Beware of creating negative karma by misuse of power.
Selfless service helps you to stay in the eternal Now.
11.justice
12. The Cosmic Christ: Jupiter and Neptune

T he Cosmic Christ symbolizes the universal cycles of death and resurrection. The Cross-
represents the Great Celestial Conjunction when the Earth Cross of the Zodiac aligns
with the Galactic Cross of the Solar zodiac which occurs every 13 or 26,000 years when our
Sun aligns with the Galactic Equator at solstices or equinoxes. This key portrays Orpheus
as the Sun God liberated in the Milky Way after the predicted Great Celestial Conjunction
in 2012.

The Cosmic Christ is an aspect of the Cosmic Over-Soul, meaning that every Soul is a re-
flection of the Logos – the cosmic intelligence within everything. This Cosmic Intelligence
has been named God, Christos, Ain Soph, or Parabrahmam. When you understand that
you are not the personality/body/mind/complex but the spiritual essence of the Galactic
Center, you will experience being, I AM.

Neptune represents the deep, dark waters where the negative thoughts geminate to make
life a living hell. Jupiter destroys the layers of illusion created by the false reality of the ego
that has been obscured by Neptune. There is no compromising with number 12 for its ei-
ther knowing who you are and being liberated or not learning the lessons and constantly
coming back to earth until you do. The soul does what it thinks is right – not what others
tell it to do. When the soul directs the personality you are more self-confident. When you
know that you can accept the challenges you face you are able to say yes to any test that
presents itself. There are powerful forces ruling life but you are not attached to the outcome
because you know that the cosmic force from the Galactic Center is the doer.

Challenge: The purpose of 12 is to teach you that you have been living a life of delusion
and illusion. Break with a past, which is too comfortable and embrace change instead of
the status quo. Know that this is the moment when the Soul begins to rule your life. As the
higher self is your personal experience of God your inner voice says, “Thy will be done.”
You then feel deeply connected to life. It can also mean that you may pass through a difficult
trial because you have lost trust in your intuition. Free yourself from social pressures to be
something you are not. Open yourself to the mysteries of the universe.
12.the cosmic christ
13. Death: Earth and Scorpio

S hiva and Pavarti’s dance represents both the destruction and the creation of the uni-
verse. Without Parvati, Shiva, (the Absolute), would remain inert, aloof, and inactive. It
is only in association with her that Shiva is able to realize His full potential. Pavarti not only
complements Shiva, she completes him.

When Scorpio is characterized by a soaring eagle it represents the higher aspect of 13 which
enables self realization through Scorpio’s powers of transformation. The number 13 is sa-
cred as it indicates that the soul and the personality are in alignment. Of all the zodiacal
signs, Scorpio has the power to bring about this transformation. Our bodies are made of
earth and contain the everlasting energy of love. When worldly attachments are dropped
there is space for real love to flourish.

The reincarnating personality descends from the spiritual realms to be reborn again on
earth. Life and death are part of an eternal process, physical life ends in death but the soul
never dies. Death is a revitalizing force for it makes way for the new. It offers an opportunity
to replace destructive patterns with constructive ways of doing things. This card is saying
to you: Meet new challenges and cut the ties that bind you to the past. New doors open as
nothing is locked in space. The body dies; the essence of the soul goes on.

Philosophers regard death as a long sleep. When you wake up you are in a new body. The
solution for escaping from the cycle of birth and death is to pay off all karmic debts, and
merge the personality with the Subtle Body of the Soul permanently.

Challenge: Self-destructive patterns impede spiritual growth. Make the necessary changes
in your life and accept the subsequent pain that comes when old patterns are dropped. Play
the game of life and love Your Self. Be willing to cut ties with old relationships that still
hold negative energy and make life chaotic. Self-confidence occurs with the alignment of
the soul and personality.
13.death
14. Temperance: Mercury and Sagittarius

T emperance – is represented by an androgynous angel holding the cup of the serpent
of eternity. The red wings depict higher consciousness. The angel is standing on the
moon and on the earth, which represents a perfect balance between the subconscious and
conscious mind. The crown glorifies the union of male and female. In the beginning, at the
instant of creation, the divine androgyny reflects on itself and divides into Shiva-Shakti’s
exquisite vibration, sound and light. In 2012 the cosmos balances us as pure androgynies
for there will be no more separation.

The profound change from the 14 vibration produces great wisdom to select the right path.
The number 14 assists in knowing what is real through self-enquiry. Self-knowledge bal-
ances strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes as well as how to function in different
situations.

Temperance indicates that you’ve learnt the art of life by keeping body-mind-spirit in bal-
ance. Balance creates a stable foundation for a fulfilled life. Temperance allows a loving
relationship with others as the personality’s strengths and weakness are balanced against
theirs. Analyze all the possibilities and proceed with caution. Why live life on the edge if
you don’t have to?

Challenge: There is a lack of control in your life. Temper your passions and desires or your
health may suffer. If you are a workaholic it will create tension in your personal life. When
you get angry with yourself and others, temper your anger with forgiveness and make your
heart pure. A nervous, impulsive nature creates problems. A fragmented life prevents ac-
complishment. Meditate on what is out of balance. Physical appetites may harm you; envy,
jealousy, and divorce are common problems for a negative 14. Seemingly irreconcilable op-
posites may not be irreconcilable at all. Try to put thesis and anti-thesis together for a useful
synthesis. It will take time, care, patience, experimentation and temperance.
14.temperance
15. The Devil: Venus and Capricorn

T he Devil, ruled by Capricorn, is portrayed as Baphomet, the hermaphrodite Goat of
Mendes. Like the Greek goat-god Pan, Baphomet represents nature’s creative force.
Baphomet has the head of a goat, cloven hooves, and the body of a nude woman. The
pentagram on his forehead is a symbol of light. His two hands pointing to a black moon
and a white moon form a Hermetic sign of mercy with justice. He is an androgyne as one
arm is female, the other male. The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the
magic light of universal balance, or the Soul without ego. Baphomet is associated with the
Sumerian god Enki who is represented as a goat with a dolphin’s tail. Enki is the Serpent
in the Garden of Eden who created Adam and Eve. Enki was the God of Wisdom, not the
Satan/Devil of evil as he is portrayed by Christians. It should be noted that ‘the serpent’
of Genesis 3 is never identified as Satan. It was under the influence of the Persians, with
their Zoroastrian concept of a conflict between the forces of light and dark that, Ahriman,
permanently at war with Ahura Mazdah, the God of Light, heads an army of demons who
embody envy and other evil qualities. Jewish thinkers transformed one of heaven’s angels
into an opponent of God and the source of evil. In Job 1-2 and Zechariah 3:1-2, Satan is
depicted as a member of God’s court. His basic duty was to charge human beings before
God. In this he is clearly not an enemy of God or the leader of demonic forces of evil, as
he becomes later.

The duality of Venus finds fertile ground in 15, which knows everything is illusion. This
means that you can escape being trapped in an uncontrollable ego. Through Capricorn,
the apex of the zodiac, spirituality is an inspiration for others on the same path. 15 – is
virtue or vice; there is no middle ground. The Devil may appear to be the adversary but
sometimes he is our best and only ally to promote the alignment of the soul and personal-
ity. Since the ego covertly sabotages spiritual practice while tricking you into believing that
it is cooperating with the Soul. The devil’s purpose is to force you to make right decisions.
The inner battle goes on as you are constantly caught in the middle of what is right and
wrong.

Challenge: Humor enables laughter at grandiosity. Liberate yourself from the conventional
concept of the devil. Delve beneath the surface and believe in more than what is obvious to
the senses. Realize that you create the limitations in your life. A narrow materialistic view
of life impedes judgment. Life is stagnant when the truth is ignored by burying your head
in the sand. Manipulating others for personal gain keeps you in a state of fear. Learn from
the darker side of your personality. Take a look at the addictions that lurk in the subcon-
scious. Loosen the chains and slip out of the power of your ego. The Devil’s torch can light
the way out. Material wealth leaves you when you die while spiritual wealth is eternal.
15.the devil
16. The Tower: Moon and Mars

T he Tower’s cylindrical shape symbolizes the positive and active principles in nature.
The battlements of the tower form a crown being hit by a flash of lightening represent-
ing Mars vital life force in the body, the tower being an analogy for the body, while the dove,
prominent in many cosmogonies, symbolizes the soul. Lightening strikes the crown chakra
and awakens the knowledge of the Divine Essence in the body by burning false ideas. Tow-
ers, mystically speaking, aspire upwards towards God. In the Bible the tower is spoken of
metaphorically, as an emblem of power and aspiration.

The number 16 is associated with The Tower and the keyword for The Tower is awakening.
This comes as a clear flash of understanding, a bolt from the blue bringing awareness of the
true nature of self. What inspires fear in the mind of the ignorant liberates the enlightened,
just as electricity frightens the primitive but is used constructively by the knowledgeable. A
flash of lightening is another symbol of the electrical serpent force, or the kundalini. Astro-
logically, The Tower and the number 16 is ruled by the Moon and Mars. Mars is the driv-
ing force within any given mechanism, including the human body. It also rules the head,
through Aries. After the kundalini or Mars force within the body is driven up the spine,
there in the head, final illumination must take place.

The Tower, a portal to the Soul, contains ceremonial initiation chambers. Mars gives aware-
ness to the Soul’s thoughts. Basic desires (one, Mars) must be refined by (six, Venus) before
they become reality in the subconscious mind (seven, Moon). Once the subconscious mind
receives a thought it becomes a reality; it is only a question of time before the thought is
acted out in the world. The bolt of lightening destroys the clouds of illusion that hide the in-
ner reality of the Soul so the thoughts can be brought to the surface for analysis and release
in a conscious way.

Challenge: You are going to have a psychological and spiritual upheaval, which results in
a transcendental state of consciousness. Do not succumb to thoughts of failure and catas-
trophe. You are angry and frustrated because you are burnt out by emotional distress. Lack
of faith causes pessimism and clouds your view of the world. Break free from emotional
bondage and get used to doing things in a new way. Prepare for the rocky road ahead. A
new approach to thinking about the problem is needed, think outside the box. Truth may
not be what your ego wants to hear. It may be time to re-examine your belief structures,
ideologies, and paradigms. Seek higher self-knowledge.
16.the tower
17. The Star: Saturn and Aquarius

T he Egyptian god Horus’ Barque of Millions of Years, or ship of eternity, sails the cur-
rents of the Milky Way. The Egyptian God Hapi, whose jugs poured purifying waters
into the Nile, represents Aquarius. Isis, standing on water and earth represents the op-
posites of nature sharing the divine energy of the Milky Way. The Ouroboros, the ringed
serpent eating its own tail, has been interpreted as the Milky Way, since time immemorial.
An ancient Hopi Indian prophecy states, “When the Blue Star Kachina – Sirius makes its
appearance in the heavens, the Age of Aquarius will emerge in 2012.” The solar system will
then become a binary sun system. During the day Sirius will appear as a silvery light, one
hundred times brighter than our sun. During the evening, it will appear as a moon. The
new frequencies emitted by the Blue Star will increase to over fifteen cycles per second.
Sirius has mystical and direct influence over the whole solar system and is connected with
almost every Egyptian god and goddess. The Great Pyramid was built to synchronize with
Sirius so that the star would shine through the passageway to the Queen’s Chamber and
impart the energy of Sirius to an initiate.

According to Robert Temple’s book, The Sirius Mystery, our solar system is born from
the womb of Isis. Sirius B is made of iron and radio astronomy has shown that iron is
the same as the iron in our blood, the iron of Earth and of our solar system. Sirius is in our
blood. We resonate to her. She is older than our solar system, which is a combination of
interstellar debris, including the gas clouds, the sperm of Osiris/Orion. At midnight the
mighty constellation of Orion, followed by the Dog-Star Sirius, takes its position in the
central heavens south of the zenith. The three stars in the belt of Orion are known as the
three Magi are represented by the three pyramids in the Giza plateau in Cairo, which point
in a direct line to the Dog-Star, Sirius. To ancient Egyptians, the Dog Star represents the
Christos, the soul of mankind. On a spiritual level, Sirius is our connection to the cosmos
as the electrical body is able to absorb even higher vibrations of truth. 17 – incorporates the
seven of receptivity (the Moon) and the one of concentration (Mars). Together they equal
eight (Saturn), which corresponds with the rising spiritual force at the base of the spine
and makes meditation easier. The light of Sirius activates the desire for a spiritual practice.
Key 17 signals that goals and aspirations are only realized by taking positive action and
promises an eventual peace of mind.

Challenge: If you have been holding back in any way, now is the time to give generously.
Listen to the waves of information coming to you from the stars and be open to all pos-
sibilities. Meditate frequently and get in touch with your inner visions. Do not let difficult
moments overwhelm you, as there is light at the end of the tunnel.

18. The Moon: Sun and Pisces

T he conjunction of the Moon and Sun is a metaphor for the Sun’s orbit crossing the
Milky Way at the exact place of the Sagittarius-Scorpio nexus. The constellations Lu-
pus (constellation of the wolf) and Vulpecula (constellation of the fox) reside along the
Milky Way at opposite ends of the ecliptic. The arrow of Sagittarius, the tongue of Serpens
(a part of the ‘Healing’ constellation of Aesclepius /Ophiuchus), and the sting of Scorpio
all define the position of the galactic center on December 21, 2012. At that moment it is
predicted that time ceases and the world will end. But it’s not the end – Aesclepius, the
God of medicine, transmits the constellation’s alchemical healing powers and brings all
back to life.

The Moon is also associated with the feminine principle with a special relationship to
earth; hence the moon is a form of the Great Mother, known by many names: Bast, Ar-
temis, Diana, and Isis—who each have a double aspect, spiritual and material. Bast is in-
timately connected with the moon, especially in her form of the cat. Thus when she is
depicted as a lioness her attributes are solar; when as a cat, lunar. This dual aspect bears a
close analogy with the moon, which is further indicated when Bast is represented as being
one of the goddesses of the birth chamber; and her son Khensu, the light bearer, fertilized
the goddesses’ ovum to make the human embryo grow. In a series of lectures called ‘Gold
of the Gods’ Sir Lawrence Gardner discusses ‘Star Fire’ which is Soma or Ambrosia the
lunar essence of the Hindu goddesses. Gardner also noted that “In more ancient Sumer-
ian times, during the days of the original Star Fire ritual, the bloodline kings who were fed
with the hormone-rich lunar essence of the Annunaki goddesses were also said to have
been nourished with their own milk —notably that of Ishtar.” This Star Fire was actu-
ally the divine menstruum, which supposedly “constituted the purest and most potent life
force.”

The symbolism in key 18 shows that the subconscious mind can be changed through the
tests of Saturn. When Saturn is energized by Mars it results in Self Realization. The Sun,
representing true Consciousness, finds its own true identity in key 18. There are two cen-
ters: The Soul, which is immortal and the Personality, which is mortal when it is unaware
of the Soul. Realization is attainable in 18 because the light of the Moon shines through the
clouds of illusion to align the soul with the personality.

Challenge: Do not fear strange emotions, dreams, or even hallucinations for they enrich
life. It is vital to take care of the body’s health. Think positively and take fresh air, exercise,
rest, and sunlight. Do not deny your power to heal. If you become a healer your presence
alone is a powerful force to relieve suffering. Embrace disturbed emotions that cause ir-
ritability and heal them. This is not the moment to leave your comfort zone.
18.the moon
19. The Sun: Mars and the Sun

T he Hyper-Cosmic Sun and source of consciousness, is located at the center of the
Milky Way Galaxy, which our solar system shares with at least 200 billion other stars
and their planets, and where thousands of clusters and nebula coexist. There are many
names and symbols for the central Sun of the Galaxy: The Egyptian Eye of Ra or Horus
depicted as a Hawk and Uraeus (a cobra) either side of the sun disk; the Greek Helios and
Apollo; the Persian Mithras; and the Mayan Galactic Butterfly or Hunab Ku.

The Great Central Sun of the Cosmos is the source of all physical-spiritual creation. It
is the Nucleus of the “Cosmic Egg.” The star Sirius is the focus of the Great Central Sun
in our sector of the Galaxy, which magnifies the radiations of a particular constellation
for 2,160 years during any particular zodiacal age. The sun magnifies the radiations of a
particular constellation that affects our seasons and zodiacal ages. The sun is the cen-
tral focus of radiating energy, physical and spiritual, in any solar system. The sun is the
storehouse of the vital electrical orce of the solar system; it issues forth from the sun as life
currents not only for the earth and every organism upon it, but for all the planets of the
solar system (SD 1:531).
In our solar system the sun is one of several suns subordinate to the central sun of the
universal solar system. Similarly, in the ancient Mystery dramas, the Sun-god role was
reenacted by the initiate in the field of human experience. The sun’s movements through
the zodiac were considered the mirror of our life in spirit. To follow the yearly journey
of the sun through the zodiac was to epitomize graphically the whole history of human
experience. The power of the Sun is a living power identical with your spiritual power. The
driving force of Mars must be controlled and raised to a higher level through the awareness
of the true life-giving power of the Sun. All our energy comes from the Sun, and we in
turn must radiate the energy we receive from it. The Sun rules the intellect and highlights
hidden desires that cloud the awareness of Divinity. This key indicates that many turn to
you for guidance because people are attracted to your inner wisdom. It can also mean that
your Soul has been here on earth many times before and may be completing its mission
by marrying the right soul mate.

Challenge: The light of the sun is obscured by your lack of faith and refusal to overcome
Mars aggressive influence. Be like a Sunflower that always faces the Sun to absorb its
power. There is a lack of purpose in your life because your personality is not aligned with
your Soul. Create a positive image of yourself but refrain from self-indulgence. Master
your emotions, which cause loss of the Real Self.
19.the sun
20. Regeneration: Vulcan and Saturn

T he two four pointed crosses (XX), represent the Great Celestial Conjunction of 2012
when the inhabitants of earth regenerate. The winged solar orb symbolizes the Egyptian
Trinity, the three states of consciousness in the One Supreme Intelligence. Osiris (conscious-
ness), Isis (sub-consciousness) and Horus (Super-consciousness). The Eye of Horus sees
what has fallen out of harmony. When Vulcan (two) burns everything that is false, the soul
is regenerated as pure love. Oneness with God (zero) means oneness with humanity. In 20
the power of the cosmos vibrates through Vulcan to unite spirit and matter.

The Egyptians were not obsessed with the afterlife, as thought by early the Christians, but
were focused on creating a higher type of human. Along with many ancient cultures they be-
lieved DNA came from the stars and was destined to return to them. The Egyptians believed
that humans are meant to evolve beyond their present terrestrial form. Even the Bible tells
us we may become greater than angels.

The winged globe is emblematic of the Egyptian Trinity. The Wings, the Serpents, and
the solar Orb are the insignia of Amon Ra and Osiris. J.J.Hurtak’s scientific examination of
the world’s key pyramid sites reveal them to be sophisticated harmonic structures, not only
mirroring positions of the planets and constellations but designed to activate the harmonics
of human chakras. Each stone within the Great Pyramid is harmonically tuned to a specific
frequency or musical tone and the King’s Chamber, in the center of the Great Pyramid, is
tuned to the frequency of the human heart beat.

In mythology Vulcan was thrown from heaven to forge the spiritual essence of heaven and
earth together. The analogy of the myth represents the fall of your soul into human form
ruled by Saturn. The soul then has come many times to burn away the layers of illusion that
cause false impression of our separation from the being One with God. Vulcan opens the
lines of communication between the Soul and the ego. Saturn purifies the heart. The uni-
verse is the vast body of God, cosmic electrical energy is the astral form of God, and the soul
or life in you is the essence of creation.

Challenge: Know that you are the essence of God. Your life will reflect this if you are guided
by your Soul most of the time. No longer question your divinity so that your life’s work
starts in earnest. Find the meaning of life. The keys to liberation are already there but you
are unwilling to use them. Accept responsibility for your actions and act rather than react.
The call from the unknown is not listened to because you do not meditate on the breath of
life within.
20.regeneration
21. The Universe: Jupiter and Saturn

T he final card is numbered 21 or XXI because the Great Celestial Conjunction, symbol-
ized by two crosses, occurs in the Milky Way at the beginning of the Age of Aquarius.
Johannes Kepler described his new astronomy as “celestial physics,” and believed that the
great conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn in the sign of Pisces announced the real beginning
of the Age of Aquarius. The Ouroboros represents the ecliptic crossing of the Milky Way
where the Sun resides at the equinoxes and or solstices on the Great Celestial Conjunction
in 2012/12.

Our goddess is a Cosmokrator maintaining cosmic order with four fixed signs of the
zodiac, which hold our world together; for when they change, as they periodically do,
our world falls apart. She has a serpent coiled around her to symbolize eternity. In
Hindu philosophy the seven-headed serpent is infinite time itself and symbolizes endless
cycles of time. The serpent coiled in a circle symbolizes the eternal dance of life. Through
the Eye of Horus she understands the limitations of the ego.

21 – marks the time when there is a pause in life before the next cycle begins. Leo, Taurus,
Scorpio, and Aquarius are the Four Fixed Cardinal points of the vault of heaven and are
known as the Sacred Four, the Four Faces of God, or the Four Archangels. It is through our
understanding of the Four Ages, and the fixed signs of the zodiac that we can finally appre-
ciate the message that our ancestors have handed down to us. We are about to pass through
a null point of hyper-dimensional space. This awareness helps us comprehend the nature of
the times in which we live and the destiny of the human race.

21 – indicates that you are aware of the cosmic breath that permeates you. Saturn rules
key 21 and uses the energies of the sacral plexus to uproot deeply rooted desires, for power,
money, position, sensual pleasures and other attractions, which have caused endless trou-
ble. Traditionally the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn signals the birth of Avatars who
bring the message of love to the world. This combination of planets seeks to unite things of
Earth with the wisdom of Jupiter.

Challenge: Give of yourself for true happiness. Although you’ve passed many tests in life
and are ready to live by the laws of the universe, you still resist knowing that we are all One.
Be ready to play the game of life and follow the path of your Soul’s purpose. The only reason
for being in the world—is to know your True Self, “The I AM.” Stop thinking that even one
aspect of this world is real. Conquer the forces that impede your spiritual development.
21.the universe
22/0. The Soul: Earth and Uranus

T he Soul, an individual ray of the Great Central Sun, is spiraling to earth to take human
form again so that it can return ego less to the heart of the sea of spiritual essence at the
Galactic Center. The Soul is here to be part of the new wave of consciousness that will end
the negative state of affairs in the world. You’ve been here thousands of times to experience
life without ego, but without success. A human soul without ego = God. It is not easy to
take human birth so do not waste this opportunity to learn the lessons of the Soul. The Soul
is urging you to take the plunge, follow the heart, and listen to its inner call.

Before time and before space only all pervading Consciousness existed. Then some ‘Di-
vine’ impulse started the process of creation of this Universe of which sages say we are the
crown jewel. Just as an architect injects his vibration into his creation so too the first pri-
mordial architect placed His characteristics into us. A child is a combination of the genes
and DNA of its parents, which are influenced by planetary forces, and the Divine DNA of
Universal Consciousness which is ‘Love’. The moment the soul enters the womb planetary
movements and cycles affect the human DNA. Astrology is the interaction between the
vibrations and frequencies of these celestial bodies which program the DNA with emo-
tions: Love, Hate, Fear, etc.

Astrologically, the planet Earth is associated with the Soul and the number 22. Since 22
reduces to a 4 (2 + 2 = 4), the Earth rules over this vibration. A blending of spiritual con-
sciousness with the proper use and control of the world’s material offerings, including the
body itself, gives ‘Total Truth Consciousness’. The Circle was chosen as a symbol because
the solar system appears to surround us like a wheel. Uranus, planetary ruler of the Soul,
dissipates negative thoughts and behavior patterns that impede enlightenment flowing to
those around you. If the Soul’s mission is successful it will be free from the emotions that
force it to constantly return to become liberated. Karma has left its scars on your soul so
that is why it’s returning to heal them. This cycle will continue until the Soul and personal-
ity have aligned as One in the Eternal Now. The Soul is the vital breath at the core of your
being which is pure love.

Challenge: Follow your soul’s purpose on earth and honor your agreement with the ‘Di-
vine Will.’ From now on accept your vital breath as your real essence. Constantly remem-
ber that you are not the body/mind complex. Use this mantra: As long as this vital breath
is there, God is there. Meditate on the divine energy within you as it can lead you to new
heights. With this key anything, or nothing, can happen. Love yourself to become the bliss
which is all you will ever be. Repeat the mantra; I Am God, I am not different to God.

23. King of Wands: Aries

King of Wands, represented by Thoth, the Cosmic Logos, is depicted with the face of a dog-
headed baboon and the body of a man. Thoth the moon god greeted the sun god, Ra, as he
rose. The Dog faced Baboon is a symbol of the genetic union of Dog and Ape (Sirius and the
Earth). The motto of the First Decan of Aries is: Action — Energy — Activity — Generos-
ity — Spontaneity.

The King of Wands (cardinal fire) presides over the first ten degrees of Aries (fire). Often
his ideas are irrational and dominated by high emotions. He accepts challenge and fights
relentlessly to achieve success. The First Decan of Aries indicates fearlessness, but beware of
becoming too stubborn. This Mars ruled Decan gives us a strong driving force for passions.
Those governed by this Decan are idealistic, romantic and restless.

You have an abundance of ideas and want to improve existing conditions. You are respected
by your family and peers. Your creative and inventive abilities may express themselves in re-
search and communication. You are practical, philosophical and spiritual and your wisdom
gives you increased perception to move through difficult situations constructively. Your key
phrase should be, ‘Thy will be done.’

Challenge: You need to learn how to pace yourself in order to avoid early “burnout.” Find
an outlet to serve others. The best way to keep the ego under control is to cultivate kindness
and thoughtfulness to others. Avoid judging others and becoming patronizing. You become
selfish and blow up when things don’t go your way. Let go and feel the passion and the fire
within. If your expectations are not irrationally high, the King of Wands will take you to the
summit.
23. King of Wands
24. Queen of Wands: Sun and Leo in Aries

The Queen of Wands is represented by the feline Egyptian goddess, Bastet, who genetically
engineered various kinds of life forms in the universe. Bastet symbolizes the unrestricted
potential of all creation. Felines merged their DNA with mammals and began a program of
genetic upgrading that would give them a soul and, in the process create a new species that
would become known as Humans. Bastet presided over sexual experiments in Atlantis (and
later Egypt), which gave rise to mermaids, minotaurs, centaurs, flying horses etc. Bastet was
seen as defender of Ra, the solar deity, who called her, Lady of the Flame.

The Queen of Wands presides over the second decan of Aries, which is the Leo Decan,
presided over by the Sun. While Aries supplies originality, dynamism and courage, Leo is
relentless until success comes. The Sun adds a steady flow of mental and physical energy to
this Decan. This secondary planetary influence also combines generosity, nobility and lead-
ership balance the aggressive trait inherent in the Aries temperament. Romance, admiration,
gratification and entertainment are of great importance. There is difficulty in life without a
partner. You have looked deeply into your soul, which has led to transformation. Your pur-
suits are now positively energized.

Challenge: The aggressive influence of Aries is ruling now. Remove yourself from jealous
people who are narrow minded, self-centered and domineering. Do not harm others or
yourself through aggressive behavior. If you’re verbally beaten you can become revengeful.
Avoid being dominating, overbearing, envious, or bitter
24. Queen of Wands
25. Prince of Wands: Sun in Aries

The Prince of Wands is represented by Surya, the Sun God, who, according to Indian leg-
end, was married to Sanghya (consciousness). The two had three children Vasvat Manu,
the first man, Yama, the impartial lord of death and Yamuna, the holy river. This legend
about Surya and the planets has a wonderful symbolic meaning. Sunlight, together with
consciousness, gives birth to life, death and water (Yamuna). The planets were also once
part of the sun’s light and were born from it.

The Prince of Wands presides over the spring season, (Aries, Taurus, and Gemini) from the
time the Sun enters the sign of Aries until it reaches the summer solstice at zero degrees of
the sign of Cancer. The Sun is exalted in Aries, and its power awakens new energy as nature
responds to its warming rays. This energy is a gift resulting from courage displayed in past
incarnations when you performed acts of selfless service. This gift must be handled with
responsibility so that it does not harm others through aggressive behavior. Like nature, at
this time of the year, you gain strength by overcoming obstacles. There can be difficulties
as you struggle to meet the Sun’s promise, but persevere though hard work. The path of the
Sun expands your spiritual life.

The Prince of Wands alerts us to change within our lives, reminding us that change is es-
sential for growth and to roll with the changes we encounter. Prince of Wands can attract
our attention to an individual in our lives who is a restless spirit eager for new adventures.

Challenge: Remain alert to the possibilities of overcoming obstacles. Life is disrupted when
you are not on track. You’ve lost your focus on what is important. There might be confu-
sion and disharmony in life or an individual who lacks the ability to put closure to projects.
Remember your past life of integrity. 25 can be a sign of conflict and a loss of energy. Com-
plete your work. Listlessness, laziness, and dissatisfaction cause entropy.
25. Prince of Wands
26. Princess of Wands: Jupiter and Venus in Aries

The Princess of Wands is represented by, Lilith, who had intercourse with Adam causing
the seed of the serpent (wisdom) to proliferate in the world. Lilith is believed to have been
the woman created prior to Eve and she displeased God, according to the legend. She is the
Mother of Israel and can be approached at any time, and any place. She particularly respects
wisdom and good deeds.

In the third Decan of Aries, Jupiter instills a superabundance of vital force and energy. Jupi-
ter’s physical stamina has the ability to shake off illness, and give a positive winning attitude
towards life. Inner conviction easily overcomes most tests in life. The influence of Venus
tempers Aries’ sentimental rash decisions. Jupiter influences the intellect.

The Princess of Wands is impulsive, aggressive, and not easily satisfied in relationships.
She is driven, ambitious, and enthusiastic. Rationality and patience are not counted among
her virtues. These aspects suggest you approach love casually so it is much harder to settle
down. You will receive good news as old fears have lost their power. You must transform
your fears into love. Love takes time to mature and it cannot flourish overnight except in
rare exceptions.

Challenge: You tend to remain rather aloof from others. Pleasure-seeking tendencies should
be controlled. Jupiter supplies sincerity and generosity. Venus afflicted in Aries causes im-
petuousness in your love life and difficulty in controlling the sexual urge. Don’t be upset by
bad or disappointing news. Be aware that you have the tendency to be domineering, ma-
nipulative, untrustworthy, and dishonest. Control your temper and do not let little things
upset you.
26. Princess of Wands
27. Ace of Wands

The Ace of Wands is symbolized by the World Tree, the first creation in the universe from
which everything emanated. Sacred cultures believe the material world emanates from the
spiritual world, and they use key symbols to show how the spiritual world is organized,
such as Sacred Trees. In Celtic culture they honor the Oak Tree, in Indian spirituality it is
the Banyan tree under which the Buddha experienced enlightenment, in Norse mythology
Yggdrasil is a giant ash tree that links all the worlds and the Cabala has its Sacred Tree of
Life.

Sacred trees all have certain things in common — roots that reach down into the under-
world, a great trunk in the middle world, and branches and leaves that reach the upper
world — the cosmos. We can travel in them to access worlds because sacred trees are the
living structures of all the world. Sacred science in ancient cultures had one thing in com-
mon; they believed that these trees were circulation systems for human consciousness.

The Aces of the Tarot deck preside over the elements of fire, earth, and water. 27 – is a
number of great spiritual strength. The fire elements (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius) relate to
the Ace of Wand’s guidance to the Self. The Ace of Wands is the ‘Life Force’ itself. The tree
shakes false securities like broken branches. Wands represent the will or personal desire to
do things. Wands are all about motivation because they deal with self-perception, ambi-
tions, and ways to feel successful. Every fairy tale includes at least one magic wand. Now,
what is a magic wand? It is simply the tool used by witches, fairy godmothers, or whoever
focuses their will to change reality. So, when you see this Ace be aware that what is being
talked about is an act of will.

Challenge: Forget tired, worn-out solutions. Things are falling apart and it is difficult to
start a dream project. Ambitions are misdirected because of fear of success. Expect delays,
the loss of a business or general discontent. Examine life to see how its energy can work.
Be daring and brave. Sometimes you have to risk getting what you want. Look for the path
that will excite you and push you beyond your limits. Seize the initiative, and let enthusiasm
take you to new heights. Wands are the suit of individual power and fulfillment. This Ace
tells you that a new passion is beginning.
27. Ace of Wands
28. Two of Wands: Mars in Aries

This Decan influences Mars, the ruling planet of Aries. There is a vitalizing, stimulating,
and resourceful quality in this division of the Zodiac. Mars in astrology represents the en-
ergy to carry out various functions. This key indicates a super abundance of self confidence
or alternatively it can result in many ego clashes if you come on too strong, so pace your self
in order to avoid early “burnout.”

The Two of Wands glorifies individual courage and taps into the Magician’s force to be
great. A powerful person is like a magnet that attracts all within a certain area. True power
always comes from the Divine. It passes through us and then flows out into the world. You
are blessed when you understand this relationship, because this flow brings a tremendous
feeling of expansion and fulfillment. The Two of Wands indicates that power is a major is-
sue in the situation. You or someone else has it or wants it.

Challenge: You do not appreciate yourself. You get no real satisfaction from what you’re do-
ing. When Mars is afflicted learn to control energy. Practice self-control to regain balance.
Problems develop when we forget that we are not the source of power, only its conduit. Be
careful not to let the intoxicating feelings that come with power overwhelm good inten-
tions. Look carefully at your goals and activities to make sure you are using power wisely.
Take the gift of power and use it to mold a positive environment.
28. Two of Wands
29. Three of Wands: Leo and Sun in Aries

The Three of Wands is represented by Freyja. The asterism Orion’s Belt was known as
“Freyja’s Distaff ” Some have pointed out that the constellation is on the celestial equator
and have suggested that the stars rotating in the night sky may have been associated with
Freyja’s spinning wheel. Freyja’s name means “love” or “beloved one.” Freyja was a goddess
associated with married women. Women prayed to her when giving birth to children.

Freyja (like Odin) has many titles by which she is known. Freyja itself means “the lady.”
Her other titles include: Vanadis (Goddess of the Vanir), Vanabrudhr (Bride of the Vanir),
Hörn (Mistress of Flax), Gefn (the giver), Syr (the sow), Mardöll (the Sea-bright) and Gull-
veig (the gold-greedy).

The Second Decan of Aries, an ambitious area of the zodiac, gives great momentum to the
chosen goal. This vibration gives vision and foresight for your many talents. With the help
of Freyja, people are willing to invest with you to create a profitable partnership but don’t
be gold greedy like Freyja.

The Second Decan of Aries supplies dynamism and courage, Leo ensures success. The in-
fluence of the Sun, the secondary planet governing this Decan enhances originality and
softens the aggressive trait inherent in an Aries temperament. Thus, this Decan’s combina-
tion of influences has immense potential for discoveries and unique inventions. Now is the
time to be a confident leader open to new areas of interest. This energy is, in effect, a kind of
reward or gift to you resulting from acts of courage in past incarnations, when self-interests
were set aside.

Challenge: Do not allow negative energy to express itself. Focus on the positive and con-
structive side of yourself. Keep a balance between your material and spiritual life. The past
is the past, stay in the present. Take the long view. Don’t react in the heat of the moment,
but step back and reconsider. See how the present affects the future. This key asks you to
dream beyond current limitations.
29. Three of Wands
30. Four of Wands: Sagittarius and Venus in Aries

The Third Decan of Aries is under the influence of Sagittarius, one of the secondary planets
governing this Decan. It induces interesting changes of personality. Here, the influence of
Venus (the other secondary planet governing this Decan) tempers the Aries tendency to be
rash and indiscriminate. Aries influences dreams of faraway places, ancient mysteries, and
miracles. Supreme power, express itself in zero. Venus, symbol of love and beauty, com-
bines with Aries, the sign of new beginnings and indicates a successful new relationship if
you have learnt to love yourself.

The Four of Wands brings some excitement and freedom into your life. Freedom takes
many forms, but is always exhilarating. When we break physical, mental or emotional
bonds a new period of growth and happiness is experienced. If you feel restricted right
now use the energy of the Four of Wands to feel free. Embrace open vistas.

Challenge: Control the sexual urge and avoid infatuation. Make sure your affections are
pure as you go into a relationship. Do not forget that you absorb the vibrations of every
lover you take. Take time to develop intimate relationships. Any desire to possess another
is considered a perversion of love.
30. four of Wands
31. Five of Wands: Saturn in Leo

The First Decan of Leo indicates a strong will to be resourceful in all endeavors. The Phoe-
nix burns itself to ashes in the sacred fire from which a new one arises. This is a metaphor
for burning conflict and disharmony in your life by observing your negative traits. Saturn
causes imbalance. This key indicates that those around you are lost in their selfish egos. You
are mentally restless and lack peace. Bring back balance to your life.

The Five of Wands indicates that your environment may seem hostile. Nothing flows
smoothly; everyone is working at cross-purposes. You’re going to need extra patience and
perseverance to get to the point where you can accomplish something. The Five of Wands
does not represent major blockages, just many small, irritating ones. It also represents a
deep sense of frustration in your spiritual practice or a feeling of creative restriction. Your
ideas may be confused as Saturn in Leo causes difficulty in communication.

Challenge: Saturn in Leo always points in the same direction: ego driven desires and attach-
ment to a false reality. The worse the aspects to Saturn, the more need to correct them. Leo
– is blocked by Saturn. Your free flow of energy is restricted and you are stagnating. Life is
a burden and you feel powerless. This key also stands for competition as it provokes effort,
generates excitement and encourages the best. You may discover you have rivals who are
challenging your position. You may feel disheartened by a highly divisive working environ-
ment. But work towards cooperation.

  • 3. Acknowledgments There are many who I would like to thank for their help and support as I worked on this book. Some helped directly, some merely inspired me by the work they have done before me. My journey probably began with the first Tarot deck I was given, which was Aleister Crowley’s “Book of Thoth.” I received it because of my obsession with art, mythology and symbolism. Crowley had persuaded Lady Frieda Harris to paint a tarot deck according to his magical philosophy. I wonder if she anticipated that it would take her four years to ac- complish this tour de force. I certainly didn’t think it would take me five years to create the art and text for “The Galactic SuperWave tarot.” Manley P. Hall’s, “Analysis of Tarot Cards,” relates that after the destruction of the Serapeum in Alexandria, the priests saved the Book of Thoth, (the Tarot) from the burning library. The priests used large images of the 22 ma- jor arcana as a way to teach the secrets of life and death to the spiritual aspirant. Although some dispute this as a fact it inspired me to create large paintings of the Tarot with the same intention. If Rachel Pollack, author, artist, teacher, lecturer, poet, and leader of workshops in the Tarot field had not seen my art I would not have even considered creating another Tarot deck. But it was Faith Javane and Dusty Bunker’s book, “Numerology and the Divine Triangle” that gave me my ‘divine’ inspiration to continue. It was a great relief to find a synthesis of eso- teric numerology, astrology and the Tarot in one book. Each of the numbers from 1 to 78 is explained as a temporary number vibration, in terms of its astrological correspondence and in terms of its Tarot symbolism. “Numerology and the Divine Triangle” is the book to which all books on the subject will be compared from now on. I am thankful to Rosemary Ellen Guiley’s “The Mystical Tarot,” which introduced me to all the possible theories of the origins of the Tarot for she, like me, enjoys solving any mystery. Just when things became really tough my sci-fi scriptwriter cousin (Godz Garden epic) JJ Diambrini-Palazzii helped me keep the text lean and mean. I’m deeply grateful to Olive Fadda for guiding me through those dark days when I felt like giving up. What a pleasure it was to see five years of my work finally take form under her editorial guidance. The final imprimatur came from Timothy Freke who, while writing to a tight deadline, took the time to let me know that he really appreciated the wonderful detail in the images and would very much endorse the cards. And last but not least my wife Carol was divinely guided to expose me to the latest message from the universe on any particular day. Without her steadfast support this book would not exist.
  • 4. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Just in time for the ‘great changes’ prophesized by the Mayan Calendar and the Tarot, Hugh Colmer, artist and philosopher, has completed his “Opus Magnum” on the subject. The Tarot belongs to the same iconographic tradi- tion as Egyptian hieroglyphics and is a Perfect Language of Images. Punc- tuated with 78 stunning images replete with ancient symbolism “The Galac- tic Super Wave Tarot” delves into the mystery of a greater unseen “Power,” that not only exists, but controls the everything of who and what we are. Hugh possesses an array of talents that have led him from agent/producer of art and photography to the investigation of comparative myth and religion. Inspired by his initial searches, he co-wrote a novel with Anthony Masters in 1995 called “Hidden Gods: The Doorway,” wherein a news photographer is on an urgent quest to find the secrets of Atlantis encoded into the Great Pyra- mid. During Hugh’s examination of myth and religion, he realized that the Cross and the Circle were the most profound symbols of all time and so inspired him to register The Crosscircle Group to publish books and writings on spiritual ‘Truth.’ His core inspiration and commitment is to share the wisdom of the ancients, like that found in the ‘Book of Thoth’ and its subsequent incarnations as the Tarot. Like those who were part of the Knights Templar, he is dedicated to uncovering and sharing the Truth of the Ages, which is the raison d’etre for the art and text he created for “The Galactic SuperWave Tarot.” Hugh and his wife Carol run a spiritual retreat center in Windham, NY.
  • 5. The Power Of Oracles: The Tarot O racles commune with the universe and are as relevant as they ever were for the oracle is where the individual soul communes with the Universal Soul.. Whereas logic speaks to the logical left side of our brain, oracles communicate through symbol and image, directly to the in- tuitive right-side of the brain. We are overwhelmed with media input. We need to attain equanimity by stimulating and using the artistic/symbolic right-side of the brain which will give balance to life. Oracle systems like the Tarot and I Ching are recommended by Carl Jung who worked extensively with them. Write the results down in your Journal regularly, By doing so, you enhance your intuition and place yourself in direct communion with Universal Consciousness. T he Tarot is a symbolic picture book considered to be a spiritual language of ‘Ageless Wisdom’. Sacred symbolism has been a bridge from the known to the unknown and vice versa. It has been the human tool used to try to explain the unknowable. In the process of creating these particular im- ages I have been influenced by the Golden Dawn adepts who used the major arcana as pathways into the mind, rather than as a means of divination. Like Aleister Crowley’s Tarot, this deck incorporates symbolism from Hindu, Egyptian, Greek, Christian, and Eastern religions. I have used unusual im- agery in this book because I have no doubt that the majority of myths and religions have a common origin. Colonel James Churchward expounds on this idea in his book “The Sacred Symbols of Mu” in which he discusses the Sacred Inspired Writings of Mu. (Lemuria) including: The teachings of Thoth, Osiris, Moses, and Jesus. He notes how Moses condensed the forty-two questions of the Osirian Mys- teries into the Ten Commandments and how Jesus condensed the texts to suit the language of his day. T his Tarot is more universal than many contemporary decks because it represents more than one particular philosophical point of view; most other decks only focus on one. This Tarot, offers in- sights and keys to a system of transformation that is attuned to the cosmic energies surrounding us at this time. It is encoded with symbolism of the Great Celestial Conjunction. Quiet meditation on each of the cards will awaken within each person, personal insights to support the transformation that must take place within each soul. The 22 Major Arcana (Secrets) relate to the “universal principles” of life and “archetypal” personality types. Twelve cards represent the signs of the zodiac and ten represent the planets in our solar system. They are multi-dimensional as they portray the gods and goddesses from many civilizations representing different states of consciousness. T he less significant other fifty-six cards, called the “Minor Arcana,” are divided into four suits: Wands and Swords (masculine) and Cups and Pentacles (feminine) and have correspondences with numerology and the ten periods (Decans) of astrology as they affect your daily life. Carl Jung, founder of analytical psychology, equated the human mind with the minor arcana’s four functions; thinking, feeling, sensation and intuition. Jung defined the unconscious mind as both collective and individual. W hen you meditate on a Tarot image you will sense an invisible vibration from its symbolic im- ages. The Tarot is the home of your psyche. Its symbolic images activate and speak to a deep intuitive part of yourself, which the logical, conscious mind cannot recognize. This part of you is known as the subconscious inner self whose deep, highly personal feelings and qualities provide the
  • 6. motivation behind your actions and reactions. The subconscious provides you with your energy for life and often gives inspiration and feeds a sense of purpose. The subconscious is that part of you which is in tune with the real energy of the world – the energy that created and sustains the world. The conscious part of ourselves is often described as the ego. It provides you with the important abili- ties of logic, reason and judgment. The conscious mind is the filter through which your subconscious self is expressed in the world. The conscious mind helps you to be ‘present’ in the everyday physical world and to interact with the experiences and people in it. It also helps give form to the intuitive im- pressions, feelings and creative urges, which arise from the subconscious. The Subconscious and the Conscious minds are often described as your Right (Intuitive/Creative) and Left (Logic/Language) brains. Tarot Cards transmit to the conscious (left brain) mind through the images and symbols by pro- viding a necessary infrastructure. The conscious mind views the images on any given card and then ac- cesses all previous left-brain logic such as meanings assigned to the symbols, the card’s place within the spread, etc. However, logic does not value the intuitive, deeper meanings within the cards. The intuitive right-brain during the meditative process can access the higher knowledge and this is the real purpose of studying the cards. It is to the unlimited area of our minds that the symbols on the Tarot cards speak. The cards are a tool to discover and bring to the surface the subconscious patterns and workings of your inner worlds. By understanding your deepest motivations and inspirations, you can then work to create in your conscious world the highest potential of your soul. The cards provide a key to access the deeper mysteries of our lives. It was from the subconscious level and the ages of studying the inner worlds that the ancients originally found an amazing way of developing instinctive, intuitive abilities. A s you immerse yourself in the imagery of the Tarot, you will see that in time you will no longer have to think about the meanings of the cards, for that information will be automatically avail- able. You will have given your logical mind a meaningful structure to concentrate on and therefore it will no longer try to interfere with your right-brain’s deepening intuitive abilities. This may take some time, hence the term “patience is a virtue.” It is the first of many virtues you will strengthen and develop as you further your spiritual path. As ancient texts declare, “If you would speak with the gods you must first learn the language of the gods.” The Tarot incorporates all the symbolism from the science of these ancient civilizations so it is appropriate to use archetypal images from India, Egypt, and Greece. The Fool, whose designation is zero, is generally portrayed as the wanderer with his bundle and staff. If Court de Gebelin is correct in associating the card with Ain Soph, the incomprehensible force in the universe, then the Fool would logically be represented as the Super Soul. T he Tarot encodes the macrocosmic and the individual microcosmic as in the Hermetic axiom, “As above. So below.” Every card has a cosmological correspondence like that we are born with. After birth, we attract and repel certain energies, which is why we have cycles of positive and negative relationships. And because our own actions constantly create karma we have our ups and downs in life. As long as we remain unaware of these forces we are subject to them. Only we can overcome and transform them. When we transform the positive and negative energies operating within us we can control our own fate. The world is also subject to the same forces from the cosmos. Everything that happens on earth is a direct response to the interaction between a cosmic plan and human karma. H.P. Blavatsky (HPB) believed the arcana of the Tarot were keys to the science of the soul which teaches us how to force the invisible to become visible.
  • 7. T he term arcana is reminiscent of the spirit of hieroglyphs residing in the inner sanctum of the heart. It is only in the heart that the inner spiritual truth that can transform us. HPB believes that the Tarot may be used to create anything, even a new universe. The fact that we question the Tarot as to whether it be a method or a doctrine shows the limitation of our "three dimensional mind," The Tarot represents Nature in all its infinite possibilities, and there is in it as in Nature, not one but all potential meaning. And these meanings are ever-changing, so the Tarot cannot be specifically this or that. W e are surrounded by false concepts of the world and the Tarot investigates the world as it is and encourages us to accept that without judgment. The Tarot is a summary of the Hermetic Sciences— the Cabala, Alchemy, Astrology, and Magic: all parallel symbolical systems of psychology and metaphysics. All these sciences, attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, or Thoth or Enoch, represent one system of a deep psychological investigation into man's relationship with God, (Universal Consciousness). and to the visible, physical world. A true alchemist spoke of gold in the soul of man which is called the Kingdom of Heaven in the New Testament, and Nirvana in Buddhism. And a true astrologer spoke of constellations and planets in the soul of man, i.e., of the qualities of the human soul and its relationship to God and to the world. And when a true Cabalist spoke of Jehovah, Yod, He, Vau and He (IHVH), he was aware that God is in the soul of all forms that exist. The world, according to Cabalists, consists of four principles forming the 'One' which give form to everything. Every phenomenon consists of (The Word,--Logos or the four letters (I. H. V. H). These four letters have a deep symbolical meaning. The first letter "I" expresses first cause, motion, energy, the second letter, H, expresses, inertia, "not I;" the third, V, the balance of opposites, "form"; and the fourth, H, potential or latent energy. Therefore the study of the law of the four letters, (I. H. V. H). is a powerful way to raise consciousness: for Universal Consciousness (God) is present in everything. The Name of God, the Word or Logos is the origin of the universe. Logos also means Reason; the Word is the Logos, the Reason of everything. Gnomes, Undines, Sylphs, and Salamanders.
  • 8. T here is a total correspondence between the Cabala, Alchemy, Magic, and the Tarot. In Alchemy the four elements which constitute the real world are called fire, water, air and earth; these fully correspond in significance with (I. H. V. H). In Magic they are expressed as the four spirits: elves (or salamanders), undines, sylphs and gnomes. The water element of the ancient philosophers metamor- phosed into hydrogen of modern science; the air has become oxygen; the fire, nitrogen; the earth, carbon. Just as visible Nature is populated by an infinite number of living creatures, so, according to Paracelsus, the invisible, spiritual counterpart of visible Nature is inhabited by a host of Nature spirits. Paracelsus divided these people of the elements into four distinct groups, which he called gnomes, undines, sylphs, and salamanders. He taught that they were really living entities, many resembling hu- man beings in shape, and inhabiting worlds of their own, unknown to man because our undeveloped senses were incapable of functioning beyond the limitations of the grosser elements. The civilizations of Greece, Rome, Egypt, China, and India believed implicitly in satyrs, sprites, and goblins. They popu- lated the sea with mermaids, the rivers and fountains with nymphs, the air with fairies, the fire with Lares and Penates, and the earth with fauns, dryads, and hamadryads. These Nature spirits were held in the highest esteem, and offerings were made to them. O ccasionally, as the result of the sensitiveness of the devotee, they became visible. Many authors wrote concerning them in terms which signify that they had actually seen these inhabitants of Nature's finer realms. A number of authorities are of the opinion that many of the gods worshiped by the pagans were commanding invisible elementals. As the Greeks placed the letters of their alphabet with their corresponding numbers upon the various parts of the body of their humanly represented Christos, so too the Tarot cards have an analogy not only in the parts and members of the universe but also in the divisions of the human body. T he Tarot must be considered (1) as complete hieroglyphs, each representing a distinct principle, law, power, or element in Nature; (2) as the effect of one agent operating upon another; and (3) as vowels and consonants of a philosophic alphabet. The laws governing all phenomena are represented by the symbols upon the Tarot cards, whose numerical values equal the numerical equivalents of the phenomena. As every structure consists of certain elements, so the Tarot represents the components of philosophy. Irrespective of the science or philosophy with which the student is working, the Tarot can be identified with the essentials of his subject according to mathematical and philosophical laws. “An imprisoned person,” writes Eliphas Levi, “with no other book than the Tarot, if he knew how to use it, could in a few years acquire universal knowledge, and would be able to speak on all subjects with unequalled learning and inexhaustible eloquence. “ (See Transcendental Magic.) T he Tarot has four suits—wands, cups, swords and pentacles. Thus every suit represents one of the elements, and controls one class of spirits . The wands are fire or elves (or salamanders); the cups are water or undines; the swords are air or sylphes; and pentacles, earth or gnomes. In every suit the King means the first principle or fire; the Queen—the second principle or water; the Prince—the third principle or air, and the Princess—the fourth principle or earth. The ace means fire; the two means wa- ter; the three, air; the four-earth. Then again the four-is the first principle, the five the second etc. W hen ‘Divine Truth’ in each card is assimilated into consciousness a transformation within the essence of our soul triggers a release of specific hormones within the ductless glands that secrete
  • 9. onto the surface of our body rather than through a duct. The resulting biophysical changes produce higher vibrations in the cell structures throughout the entire body. It's through raising the conscious- ness of the cells that Universal Consciousness becomes the guiding force of your bio-computer. T he Galactic SuperWave Tarot evolved over a period of five years. and I considered the Tarot to be just a unique and divinely inspired source of guidance. Then I read it is also a profound body of cosmic knowledge sequentially created as an individual guide for attaining Sri Aurobindo’s Supra- mental state in this lifetime. The Galactic SuperWave Tarot shares Sri Aurobindo's philosophy that our souls are destined to take form in a lighter spiritual 'body'. All sages agree that to be liberated one must not identify with the body-mind complex. There is only one Mind and that is the Universal Mind. We think our mind is real but it is just a cacophony of thoughts. God stirs in the silence of the heart when the physical mind is at rest. When the power is eliminated from our thoughts the transition begins The Mind dissolves the false mind into the Universal Mind. J oe Ivory, in an article on the Mystical Tarot, noted that the lectures of Carl Jung given during his early European tours around the turn of the century taught that the Major Arcana (first 22 trump cards) contained hidden symbolism and instructions on how, what his contemporary, Sri Aurobindo called, the ‘Supramental’ consciousness-force, can spark a biochemical process that replicates the origi- nal Supramental cell which has been dormant since the beginning of evolution. As the Greeks placed the letters of their alphabet—with their corresponding numbers—upon the various parts of the body of their humanly represented Christos, so the Tarot is also an analogy of the parts of the human body, which is a microcosm of the universe. T arot imagery can change the consciousness of the cells in the human body which contain clues to our personalities, tastes, and history, independent of genetic codes or brain cells. That is, every- thing that has ever happened to us is recorded in the cells of our body, and remembered —like files in a computer. Imagine how wonderful it is to share these higher principles of transformation so you might commence your journey through the 22 steps of the pure knowledge of the Tarot in your own physical body. The Tarot is invaluable when all psycho therapeutic work has failed to determine the next step to be taken for the souls evolution for the images will identify the karmic challenge and even in the time frame in which it occurred.
  • 10. 1. The Magician: Mars and Mercury T o the magician the magical act and imaginative act is one and the same. The magician knows with certainty that for a change to occur he must will it to happen and firmly believe that it will happen. Here it may be noted that magic and religion are akin: both require belief that a miracle will occur. The planet Mercury corresponds to the Magician and Mars is assigned to number one. The energies of both planets must combine in order for the Magician to fulfill his mission in transforming you. Mercury, the primary symbol for the intellect, must conquer the ego if the heart is to rule the mind. The Magician teaches that if you live your life in selfless love and service your personality will merge with the soul. But the term magi, or mage, actu- ally comes from ancient Sanskrit and an Assyrian, Babylonian, and Persian term, from ‘mag’ or ‘maha,’ and the magi were priests of the sun, priests which is a symbol of the Christos. So the real magician is a priest. Most importantly, the real magician follows the magic of his inner maha-atman.” ‘Maha’ means ‘great’ in Sanskrit: Maha-atman—great spirit, great soul. Hermes, the Magician, is holding the caduceus with twin serpents wound about a staff, repre- senting the double helix of DNA, the building blocks of life. It is our cells’ store of coded ‘digital’ information, and each strand of DNA itself provides the pattern for building a new strand. Many scholars now believe that the caduceus is also an embodiment of our DNA. The Magi- cian has discovered the secret codes to life. He can draw upon his inner strength to make a goal a reality for he has at his disposal all the elements and their counterparts: the cup, indicating water and imagination; the sword, indicating air and intellect; the pentacle, earth and the body, and the caduceus/wand, fire and will-power. In his lower aspect Hermes mirrors the trickster in us—thus illustrating that even our best qualities have their shadow side. The Magician rep- resents the powers that you possess to create meaning and purpose in your life. He tells us that this creative power is in and around you and always available. He teaches how things work in the world by understanding the structure underlying its cycles and rhythms. Challenge: Although you are eloquent, charismatic, clever, witty, inventive and persuasive, beware of dominating those around you. Although these qualities are not generally criticized by society they are different personalities that need to be unified under the guidance of your inner guru. Your pioneering spirit is in reality a way to avoid facing these layers of illusion and can prevent you from discovering that you are not these personas. Pay attention to everyday life. Remember all the power you possess comes from a higher level. Focus on what you want and eliminate those things, which distract you. You have abused power and you have an overpow- ering ego, which makes you selfish, arrogant, and insensitive. Your inflexibility causes you to row against the tide and sets you up for failure and loneliness. Your lack of willpower confuses your life’s purpose. Do not use the forces of nature for selfish purposes. You are blocking your creative energies. Learn by experimentation – try new things.
  • 12. 2. The High Priestess: Vulcan/Uranus and the Moon T he High Priestess, Isis, was revered as the “Great Enchantress” who used her wings to transmit the breath of life to Osiris after he was murdered by his evil brother Seth. Isis is wearing the solar disk in between the bull’s horns associated with crossing of the ecliptic and Milky Way. The white and black colors of the pillars represent the two opposite sides of the Milky Way where the ecliptic and Milky Way cross. The dark pillar can be associated with the Dark Rift near the Sagittarius-Scorpio nexus while the white pillar can be associ- ated with the Gemini-Taurus nexus. The Sun resides here in between the ‘horns of Taurus’ and this is the place where the Sun resides at the Great Celestial Conjunction at the sum- mer solstice in 2012. The number one is masculine and the number two is feminine. Those people that believe in God as masculine and reject the feminine aspect of it, are half-atheists, because God is male-female. So in order for us to be a complete theist we have to understand that we have to worship not only God as masculine, but the Goddess, the Divine Mother, its feminine aspect, in order to be complete. The moon rules the High Priestess and the number two is ruled by Uranus. Vulcan, god of blacksmiths, stokes the fire of determination to ensure that ideas are not extinguished. The High Priestess symbolizes the power of the unconscious forces in the world that give form and purpose. She has experienced life so she has empathy for your struggles. This demonstrates that life survives death. By taking on new forms she can lead to deep wisdom, but she can also lead to madness. Number two makes you acutely conscious of others and as you are socially aware of people your stimulation is derived from them. This makes you a diplomat, go-between, mediator or peacemaker. Your best service is through your cooperative nature. This key means that you intuitively understand the answer to a problem although not always consciously. You may well become the power behind the throne. The number two suggests more than one, yet in reality we are all One. Challenge: You should pay a great deal of attention to your health through your eating habits so that you have the energy to be of service to others. Seek new and hidden paths to wisdom. Learn to question the lessons of the unconscious for it does not always lead to wisdom. Question how you have divided your world by judging yourself and others. Your excessive focus on unimportant details and perfectionism can prevent you from listen- ing to your intuition. This will cause passiveness, weakness, and fear of life. You may be expressing your emotions in a negative way. You lack self-confidence and are therefore indecisive and afraid to make decisions. You can be deceitful, two-faced, oversensitive, and easily depressed if your dreams are thwarted by those close to you.
  • 14. 3. The Empress: Jupiter and Venus T he Empress, Raja Rajeshwari (Devi), is honored as Queen of Queens. Devi is the life force and all-powerful goddess of the spheres. Her smile gives a feeling of confidence. She is adored and feared, the focus of every conscious and unconscious breath, the life force which unites Brahma, the creator of the universe, the power of Vishnu, who protects and sustains the universe, and the power of Shiva, the destroyer of all the deities in the universe at the end of a kalpa. When Shiva receives permission from Devi He reinstates the gods as they were before the dissolution of the universe. Devi has a halo of the-five headed serpent, Ananta Shesha, who does not change at the end of a kalpa. A kalpa is 4.32 billion years, a “day (only) of Brahma” or one thousand mahayugas, (scientists estimate the age of the universe at 13.7 billion years). Each kalpa is divided into 14 manvantaras (each lasting 306,720,000 years). Devi is holding the trishula, a trident that is the emblem of the god Shiva. The weapon symbolizes the irresistible force of transcendental reality. The three prongs of the trishula represent Shiva’s three aspects of: creator, preserver, destroyer as well as the three shakti (powers): will, action and wisdom. Durga, the fearsome aspect of Devi, also brandishes a trishula in one of her seven hands. This Law of Three irepresents a deep equilibrium between forces symbolized in the structures of the Tree of Life. There are three columns upon which hang three triangles, and each triangle is made of three spheres. The Law of Three is the very structure of the Cabalistic Tree of Life, both within us and outside of us. The Empress is pure consciousness itself, the knowledge that returns us to the source of who you are. She is an aspect of the subconscious mind, ruled by Venus, the main astrologi- cal symbol for our affections and feelings. Venus works in conjunction with Jupiter to in- crease productivity, love, abundance, and fertility. The Empress represents the veil of Maya (illusion). She represents the need to control the cosmic forces that are not controllable and often represents smothering mothers. She also represents the blood that carries the energy flowing through all living things. Challenge: Your natural talents — acting, social work, counseling and the law — give you a love of life through the pleasure of relationships, entertainment and new experiences but these talents, if not used properly, can be a diversion from knowing who you really are. Avoid work that confines you as you need to move around to express yourself in order to do your best work enthusiastically. It is important to understand that all emotions stem from the pure essence of love. Thus, fear and hate are its opposite. Pity and sentimentality represent perversions, contortions or negations of the love quotient. Do not express your emotions in a negative way because they reinforce negative behavior patterns. As you want recognition you tend to exaggerate situations so that friendships may well be superficial. You may try to avoid responsibility and live a life of instant gratification.
  • 16. 4. The Emperor: Earth and Aries Emperors had the title of God, Deus, or Divus and Popes consider themselves the only God on earth. Jupiter or Zeus is the son of Chronus—god of time and, like the Hindu Brahma and the Egyptian Seb he assumes the form of a swan. Popes were called Papa in the tradition of the Roman god Jupiter, although Zeus, in the mind of ancient Greek philosophers, was not the supreme God, and always assumed a sacred name with a zodiacal correlation. Emperor Augustus, the first emperor of Rome adopted the sacred name of Augustus—an Egyptian name for the river Nile—as his predecessor, Julius, had assumed the name Caesar, the name of the god, Mars. This is a replica of the ancient Hindu kings and emperors who take a sacred name from their gods. But when we discover that our own Spirit has to do its own internal work for Self-realization we discover that he is also a spiritual warrior. The Cabala relates Chesed, with the Emperor. That’s why, astrologically speaking, Emperors are ruled by Jupiter. The first Christian emperor, Constantine was both Christian and Pagan and Christianity combined the two. He claimed to be a descendent of Helen, the female generative prin- ciple. He kept pagan festivals after he formed Christianity and dedicated the Church to the Sophia on the seven hills of the new Rome. The Roman Pontifex Maximus, the Pope, and the King of the Age is endowed with the holy spirit representing divinity on earth. The Pope adopted the divine right of priest/kings from Rama and controls all religious ceremonies. The message of the Ramayana is to make your heart pure and strong and be convinced that you are One with God. The Emperor rules the external world that exists outside the conscious elements in the ma- terial world, the unity and order in your life. His God-like ability enables him to discern the truth in any given situation. It is his wisdom to handle affairs systematically that has placed him on the throne. His strength gives stability to accept external forces out of our control. True intuition is based on number four. This key indicates that you have the ability for lead- ership and spiritual growth through ideas, experience, higher education, travel, religion and deep philosophical thought. The Emperor governs the need for honesty, fairness and respect for the rights and freedom of others. He is a solid foundation in times of change and uncertainty. Challenge: Control your own sensual desires and overcome the tendency to be rigid and inflexible. Examine all external forces that prohibit the fulfillment of your destiny, discard- ing all outgrown comforting myths. Don’t risk stagnation and keep a ceiling on desires, which lead to spiritual or material decline. Prepare for unseen difficulties through careless- ness, impulsive spending and grandiosity. Have compassion for those who you dislike, stop listening to the head, and listen to the heart. Renunciation leads to joy; attachment brings discontent. Be in the world, but not of it.
  • 18. 5. Hierophant: Mercury and Taurus T he Hierophant is Moses and is ruled by (Mercury) and Apis the Bull, Taurus. Moses , along with Jehovah, dominates the Torah. He leads the Jews out of slavery, unleashes the Ten Plagues against Egypt, guides the freed slaves for forty years in the wilderness, car- ries down the Law from Mount Sinai. Hebrew patriarchs were associated with the signs of the zodiac. Adam’s son Cain was presided over by Taurus, representing the material mind which murders Abel’s spiritual mind. This indicates that Cain did not realize his spiritual Self. The cross with three bars is the emblem of God, penetrating three worlds in order that birth may be given to all the manifestations of universal life. Taurus gives determination and power to the Hierophant – the revealer of sacred mysteries of the Soul. He is the spiritual guide who unlocks the door of hidden knowledge, and can help in the search for inner truth, the meaning of life and realize the soul’s desires. Mercury/ Hermes rules number five and represents intelligence, movement and communication, the inner teacher and the inner voice. Sages have always said that ‘Self Realization’ comes when you awaken to the awareness of the soul. True inner hearing does not involve spirits, clair- voyance or visions from the astral planes. With the help of Taurus/Mercury, your conscious mind, studies the facts and places them in your subconscious data base which, in a flash of realization, sends the analysis back to the conscious mind. This is true intuition based on reason. The Hierophant represents the knowledge of what is right and wrong, beyond what the laws of society deems appropriate. Each soul’s path is unique and you may be guided to tradi- tional religion, prayer, contemplation and meditation. All ways will take you to the source of who you are eventually. Ignore the soul at your peril! Challenge: Assess your spiritual growth and recognize the limitations of fame and glory. Learn to act and not react, and know that you are more than a collection of five senses. Don’t take the meaning of events too literally, be gullible, or over analyze everything before taking action. Look for the deeper meaning to the question. Strive for spiritual truth by working with the practical aspects of life. Be open to meeting a spiritual teacher who guides you towards your Real Self, not the ego driven self. This key is a reminder not to stay too grounded in the material world, as there is a heavy price to pay for deviating from the path of spiritual truth.
  • 20. 6. The Lovers: Gemini and Venus T he Lover, Adonis, must make a decision between Aphrodite exposing her breasts (Vice) and Persephone hiding her breasts (Virtue). Cupid hovers over Adonis aiming his ar- row at Aphrodite. Cupid aiming his arrow at Aphrodite is interchangeable with Sagittarius, the archer, aiming his arrow at the heart of the galaxy. Sagittarius points to the Galactic Center to direct us to the heart of our spirituality. The eagle, Scorpio’s higher form, soars above Persephone. The constellations of Sagittarius and Scorpio reside on opposite sides of the heart of the Galactic Center from which the Milky Way is formed. The Hindu star design formed of two opposed interlocking triangles symbolizes Siva/ Shakti, the union of masculine and feminine principles. Lovers are a union of opposites but complimentary components. Venus seeks to unite the seemingly opposing forces of Gemini into harmony. Venus, as the ruler of six, creates the urge for peace and love with family and friends. Love is generally understood as romantic, passionate or as the meeting of a new soul-mate. But, at a deeper level, this key represents personal choices to be made in some sphere of life. This choice is not an easy one, since there are usually too many options. The Lovers key role is to relax and access inner wisdom, encouraging surrender to the profound energy of Love, even if it seems impractical. To dance on the royal road with your ‘Beloved,’ is the most powerful energy of all. This key urges you to feel the life-giving energy of Love for all those around you. Pure love is a state of ‘Being.’ All obstacles in life can be overcome through unconditional love, a force, which is an expression of the soul. Universal love has nothing to do with infatuation, attachment or lust. When unconditional love is experienced there is no separation. Love is the totality of ‘Oneness.’ Challenge: It is time to decide between opposing alternatives. Love can be blind! Under- stand that love is a state of being that animates your total being. Don’t be selfish. Like attracts like. Being self-consumed leaves nothing to give. Love is not bondage but brings balance and harmony. Our greatest lessons are learned from the negative patterns mirrored in our lover. Discontent and jealousy create the martyr. Solve your relationship challenges by self-enquiry. The key is to discriminate between the true and the false.
  • 22. 7 The Chariot: Moon and Cancer T he Chariot, Sanskrit – Vahana, Hebrew – Merkhabah, is the vehicle of Light mentioned in the Bible by Ezekiel. “Mer” means Light. “Ka” means Spirit. “Ba” means body. The body is often called the chariot for the inner charioteer, the Soul. Contemplation on the Chariot guides the divine will of the Soul. The charioteer directs the positive and negative forces of the black and white sphinxes through his intention to merge the personality with the Soul. This key falls under the spiritual vibration of number seven, from the Seven days of Creation to the Seven Seals of Revelation,. The chariot of war is also represented in the Mahaharata, the most famous portion of this epic story is called the Bhagavad Gita, which means “The Song of the Lord,” and is a dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna in a chariot on a battlefield at the very precipice of the earliest nuclear war. The war symbolizes the psy- chological struggle that the spiritual initiate has to undergo within the mind. The Chariot, ruled by Cancer, provides protection for the spiritual seeker. However, be- ware; Cancers are the masters of the art of passive resistance. The Chariot represents the power of focused intention and is all about motion, and yet, it is often shown as motionless. On the one hand, the Chariot indicates loyalty and faith and on the other, a motivation to succeed at any cost. The Chariot stands for the desire for freedom, ambition, the search for paradise lost, or the need for recognition. This key shows a vast amount of skill (steering the chariot), but also inexperience (entering an unknown formless world of spirit). On its most basic level the Chariot implies inner struggle, and an eventual victory through rigor- ous self-examination. Challenge: The Chariot warns us against being too focused on material gain. Keep your intent to gain the self-confidence to leap into the void. You are moving too fast. Pull back the reigns and slow down. Broaden your world view, avoid spinning wheels, and beware of working too hard with little to show for it. Achieve your goal one step at a time. Do not overestimate your own confidence – rather, take time to gain insight, you have much to learn. Do not be melancholic and learn to control your opposing emotions. This key gives new motivation or inspiration to solve a stagnant situation. Avoid burnout. You are too focused on fame and fortune. Remember Phaethon, who took the reigns of the Sun’s chariot against his father’s advice, burnt the world. Take heed of this key or Zeus will send you a bolt of lightening to really burn you out. Success can be obtained without the need for control.
  • 24. 8. Strength: Saturn and Leo S trength is symbolized by Samson who portrays spiritual strength by opening the lion’s jaws to find secret wisdom of Leo within. The allegory makes Samson a symbol of the Sun with Leo powers. Alisteir Crowly renamed this key ‘Lust’ for he knew that at the sum- mer solstice Samson, the Sun, is at its most virile and vainly lusts after Delilah (Virgo), the next sign of the zodiac in September. When summer ends the sun’s rays or golden locks are cut as it enters into the house of Virgo (Delilah). Virgo’s dominion over Samson is spiritual for she cuts the rays of the Sun, symbolizing Samson’s life force. This key is about inner strength of the strong, silent, hero who has the self confidence to know his strength comes from God The only two numbers that are eternal are zero and eight representing eternal divinity and worldly power. The important message of the Strength key is not to give up and to have the courage to succeed with unfailing optimism. As long as you feel that you’re in a posi- tion of authority and responsibility, you will do all in your power to justify the confidence placed in you. You thrive on adversity and dare to think and act bigger than others would normally dare to. You are a down to earth realist and may be seen as a ‘lion’ of industry, and in the forefront of cutting edge technologies. Challenge: Watch your anger and keep your integrity. Don’t be over ambitious. Like trying to tame a lion, you might get scratched trying to control a situation that involves someone else or your own lower instincts. Your desire for authority is unfulfilled and you may be- come lazy or impetuous which may lead to a lack of confidence. Learn to control yourself. Stop questioning your abilities. Your weaknesses are the worst enemy. Avoid being domi- neering, ruthless and disruptive. Upheaval is a way of life for you. Develop your spiritual nature for if the bottom falls out of your material life you will have self-confidence from knowing your inner self. Acknowledge the power within you.
  • 26. 9. The Hermit: Sun and Virgo T he Hermit, represented by the Greek philosopher, Pythagoras, taught the mysteries of Greece, and ancient India which included the magic of numbers, and the heal- ing powers of music. His philosophy demanded purity and self-mastery. Apollo the Sun is assigned to the number nine because it is only by following the first eight keys in the major arcana that the sun’s intellectual enlightenment is reflected in you. Virgo’s keen discrimination anchors the goal. Nine is the number of completion of a cycle and the foundation for the next. The Hermit exemplifies Christ consciousness in physical form. He is the guide to your inner guru. Physical incarnation is for the sole purpose of aligning Soul with personality. Contemplate what is really important in a life on overload. Mediation can bring order out of chaos by seeing what doesn’t work. This key signifies that it is time to examine what you want rather than what others would like you to have. Hermits are rarely understood for they walk to the beat of a different drummer, preferring solitude to superficiality. The similarity between Druidism and Pythagoreanism confirms the legend that Pythagoras studied not only under Eastern but also under Western or Druidic teachers; and that other belief, that philosophy came to Greece not only from the East, but also from the Druids. Druids are the priestly hierarchy among the ancient Celts of Britain, Gaul, and Ireland, composed of the three Orders of Druids, Bards, and Ovates. Classical references refer to Druids as possessors of a high wisdom; the very first reference says that Greek philoso- phy came to the Greeks from the Brahmins of India, the Magi of Persia, the Egyptian priesthood, and the Druids. H.P. Blavatsky stated that Druidism was the one branch of the sacred Mysteries of antiquity in the Western world that had not degenerated; and that during the campaigns of Caesar and his forces in Gaul, three million Gauls were killed and Druidism was virtually wiped out there. It is Caesar who is responsible for the current idea that Druids were barbarous and cruel. Excommunication was their capital punishment. In Gaul in Caesar’s time Druidism was very highly organized and controlled the whole civilization, a fact Caesar is known to have deliberately understated, for in many respects Gaulish civilization was more advanced than Roman. Challenge: Time spent quietly gives access to the same truth as the Hermit. Overcome the natural tendency to be shy and reserved. Learn to trust despite deep wounds from the past, overcome fear of vulnerability and avoid secretiveness. Beware of becoming a Peter Pan, the perennial child who avoids responsibility in life. Discriminate between the essential and the trivial. Learn to listen to your inner voice. Don’t be self-absorbed, selfish, indulgent, or, when crossed, react angrily. Your razor sharp mind is a formidable weapon. High standards create nervous tension, which makes friends uneasy in your company. Try to reach out to people with compassion, understanding and wisdom.
  • 28. 10. Wheel of Fortune: Jupiter and Mars T he Wheel of Fortune symbolizes the upward and downward cycles of our solar sys- tem, which, according to many legends, has cataclysmic upheavals at the 12,960-year half-point of its 25,920-year zodiacal orbit around the galaxy centre (the Precession of the Equinoxes.) Precession was divided into four distinct ages of 6480 years each. Scorpio is represented by an eagle instead of a scorpion, Leo, Taurus, and Aquarius— are the four faces mentioned in the Jewish Torah—Ezekiel 1:10 and Revelation 4:7 (TORA). According to the alchemist, Fulcanelli, both of these books in the Bible warn of great changes. We are now entering Aquarius. The Oroboros (the serpent of light in the heavens eating its own tail) represents the Milky Way Galaxy. The Djed (Polar Axis) in the center of the Oroboros is the bond between Heaven and Earth, evoking geophysical stability at a time of increased potential for Earth changes. Moira Timms also reminds us that, “according to the texts of the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the Djed revealed its greatest mystery at the ending of one world age and the beginning of another.” This image shows two lion-headed sphinxes fac- ing opposite directions, falling on the Leo/Virgo and Aquarius/Pisces equinox axis and crossed by the Djed pillar marking the galactic center. This shows that Moira Timms had intuited the correct orientation for the primal Djed and its connection with the Great Cross of the galactic alignment in 2012. Ten (X) represents the forces that can disrupt, destroy, or bless depending on the state of consciousness. Are you prepared for the world to fall apart when this happens? The Wheel of Fortune signals a need to understand your inner reality and underscores the cyclical nature of your spiritual growth and development. The winged sphinx is the eter- nal arbiter between the cycles of good and evil. Ten begins a new cycle as it is a repetition of one, which brings a change in fortune. Here we have the Soul’s power of zero working through One. Jupiter expands the Soul’s spiritual principles. If the wheel of fortune does not turn you will be stuck Challenge: Accept the gift of adversity without struggle for it may be followed by success or failure. Bad fortune comes with overindulgence. Use previous experiences from other lives to spiritually influence others who do not learn from past mistakes. What is done today is because of what occurred yesterday and what was done tomorrow will depend on what occurred today. Analyze past mistakes and learn from them. Today’s challenges are tomor- row’s opportunities. Do nothing and the universal force will do what’s best for the Soul. Go with the flow and grow because resistance causes stagnation. Greater satisfaction with life comes from living in harmony with the cycles and rhythms of the universe.
  • 30. 11. Justice: Uranus and Libra J ustice, symbolized by the greatest of the Egyptian goddesses Maat, judged the souls of the dead with her consort, Thoth, scribe of the ‘Ennead’ and negotiator and settler of dis- putes. He also records every soul who enters the ‘Duat,’ the Underworld and stands by the scales supervising the weighing of the heart of the deceased, reed brush and palette in hand ready to note the verdict. Sometimes Thoth is depicted in baboon form on top of those scales. Justice is a karmic law “for every action there is a consequence,” The Aeon of Maat in 2012 heralds a new golden age of self-realization. Ask yourself, “Who Am I?” Ma’at personified moral law, order, and truth and was considered as the feminine counterpart of Thoth depicted as the baboon sitting on the apex of the scales. She is often represented as standing with Thoth in the boat of Ra when the sun god first rose above the waters of the primeval space of Nut. She is called the daughter of Ra, the eye of Ra, lady of heaven, queen of the earth, and mistress of the Underworld, who guides the course of the sun. Themis, the Greek goddess of order and justice, when conjoined with Nemesis and Adrasteia preserves balance by adjusting the cause and effect of karma. When Zeus became the Supreme God he placed Themis and Dike at His side in the Hall of Justice; Themis symbolized ‘Divine Justice’ and Dike, portrayed with a staff and balance, human justice. For the Romans, Justitia was goddess of Justice. She was a virgin living among humans until she became overwhelmed by the immorality of mortals and transformed into the constella- tion of Virgo. Libra is the balance amidst constant change. The importance of this key is to stay in the present moment with out judging past mistakes and worrying about the future. Libra and Uranus, emphasized by master number eleven, represent a balanced life when actions are weighed and measured by the Soul. When the life force is misused dis-ease, accidents, legal difficulties and impulsive decisions will occur. Saturn’s exaltation of Libra ensures a sense of justice and integrity. As Libra is ruled by Venus one must communicate through love. Libra rules the organs of detoxification that keeps the body in balance. Challenge. Justice signals that your world is dangerously out of balance and needs adjust- ing. It is important, however, to be aware that most external problems are an externalized inner conflict. When anger is rarely expressed you explode like a volcano. Don’t escape real- ity in the oblivion of drugs and alcohol. A constant state of anger occurs when knowledge of Self is denied. Understand that what you dislike in others is a reflection of something that needs to be healed in yourself. Beware of creating negative karma by misuse of power. Selfless service helps you to stay in the eternal Now.
  • 32. 12. The Cosmic Christ: Jupiter and Neptune T he Cosmic Christ symbolizes the universal cycles of death and resurrection. The Cross- represents the Great Celestial Conjunction when the Earth Cross of the Zodiac aligns with the Galactic Cross of the Solar zodiac which occurs every 13 or 26,000 years when our Sun aligns with the Galactic Equator at solstices or equinoxes. This key portrays Orpheus as the Sun God liberated in the Milky Way after the predicted Great Celestial Conjunction in 2012. The Cosmic Christ is an aspect of the Cosmic Over-Soul, meaning that every Soul is a re- flection of the Logos – the cosmic intelligence within everything. This Cosmic Intelligence has been named God, Christos, Ain Soph, or Parabrahmam. When you understand that you are not the personality/body/mind/complex but the spiritual essence of the Galactic Center, you will experience being, I AM. Neptune represents the deep, dark waters where the negative thoughts geminate to make life a living hell. Jupiter destroys the layers of illusion created by the false reality of the ego that has been obscured by Neptune. There is no compromising with number 12 for its ei- ther knowing who you are and being liberated or not learning the lessons and constantly coming back to earth until you do. The soul does what it thinks is right – not what others tell it to do. When the soul directs the personality you are more self-confident. When you know that you can accept the challenges you face you are able to say yes to any test that presents itself. There are powerful forces ruling life but you are not attached to the outcome because you know that the cosmic force from the Galactic Center is the doer. Challenge: The purpose of 12 is to teach you that you have been living a life of delusion and illusion. Break with a past, which is too comfortable and embrace change instead of the status quo. Know that this is the moment when the Soul begins to rule your life. As the higher self is your personal experience of God your inner voice says, “Thy will be done.” You then feel deeply connected to life. It can also mean that you may pass through a difficult trial because you have lost trust in your intuition. Free yourself from social pressures to be something you are not. Open yourself to the mysteries of the universe.
  • 34. 13. Death: Earth and Scorpio S hiva and Pavarti’s dance represents both the destruction and the creation of the uni- verse. Without Parvati, Shiva, (the Absolute), would remain inert, aloof, and inactive. It is only in association with her that Shiva is able to realize His full potential. Pavarti not only complements Shiva, she completes him. When Scorpio is characterized by a soaring eagle it represents the higher aspect of 13 which enables self realization through Scorpio’s powers of transformation. The number 13 is sa- cred as it indicates that the soul and the personality are in alignment. Of all the zodiacal signs, Scorpio has the power to bring about this transformation. Our bodies are made of earth and contain the everlasting energy of love. When worldly attachments are dropped there is space for real love to flourish. The reincarnating personality descends from the spiritual realms to be reborn again on earth. Life and death are part of an eternal process, physical life ends in death but the soul never dies. Death is a revitalizing force for it makes way for the new. It offers an opportunity to replace destructive patterns with constructive ways of doing things. This card is saying to you: Meet new challenges and cut the ties that bind you to the past. New doors open as nothing is locked in space. The body dies; the essence of the soul goes on. Philosophers regard death as a long sleep. When you wake up you are in a new body. The solution for escaping from the cycle of birth and death is to pay off all karmic debts, and merge the personality with the Subtle Body of the Soul permanently. Challenge: Self-destructive patterns impede spiritual growth. Make the necessary changes in your life and accept the subsequent pain that comes when old patterns are dropped. Play the game of life and love Your Self. Be willing to cut ties with old relationships that still hold negative energy and make life chaotic. Self-confidence occurs with the alignment of the soul and personality.
  • 36. 14. Temperance: Mercury and Sagittarius T emperance – is represented by an androgynous angel holding the cup of the serpent of eternity. The red wings depict higher consciousness. The angel is standing on the moon and on the earth, which represents a perfect balance between the subconscious and conscious mind. The crown glorifies the union of male and female. In the beginning, at the instant of creation, the divine androgyny reflects on itself and divides into Shiva-Shakti’s exquisite vibration, sound and light. In 2012 the cosmos balances us as pure androgynies for there will be no more separation. The profound change from the 14 vibration produces great wisdom to select the right path. The number 14 assists in knowing what is real through self-enquiry. Self-knowledge bal- ances strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes as well as how to function in different situations. Temperance indicates that you’ve learnt the art of life by keeping body-mind-spirit in bal- ance. Balance creates a stable foundation for a fulfilled life. Temperance allows a loving relationship with others as the personality’s strengths and weakness are balanced against theirs. Analyze all the possibilities and proceed with caution. Why live life on the edge if you don’t have to? Challenge: There is a lack of control in your life. Temper your passions and desires or your health may suffer. If you are a workaholic it will create tension in your personal life. When you get angry with yourself and others, temper your anger with forgiveness and make your heart pure. A nervous, impulsive nature creates problems. A fragmented life prevents ac- complishment. Meditate on what is out of balance. Physical appetites may harm you; envy, jealousy, and divorce are common problems for a negative 14. Seemingly irreconcilable op- posites may not be irreconcilable at all. Try to put thesis and anti-thesis together for a useful synthesis. It will take time, care, patience, experimentation and temperance.
  • 38. 15. The Devil: Venus and Capricorn T he Devil, ruled by Capricorn, is portrayed as Baphomet, the hermaphrodite Goat of Mendes. Like the Greek goat-god Pan, Baphomet represents nature’s creative force. Baphomet has the head of a goat, cloven hooves, and the body of a nude woman. The pentagram on his forehead is a symbol of light. His two hands pointing to a black moon and a white moon form a Hermetic sign of mercy with justice. He is an androgyne as one arm is female, the other male. The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the magic light of universal balance, or the Soul without ego. Baphomet is associated with the Sumerian god Enki who is represented as a goat with a dolphin’s tail. Enki is the Serpent in the Garden of Eden who created Adam and Eve. Enki was the God of Wisdom, not the Satan/Devil of evil as he is portrayed by Christians. It should be noted that ‘the serpent’ of Genesis 3 is never identified as Satan. It was under the influence of the Persians, with their Zoroastrian concept of a conflict between the forces of light and dark that, Ahriman, permanently at war with Ahura Mazdah, the God of Light, heads an army of demons who embody envy and other evil qualities. Jewish thinkers transformed one of heaven’s angels into an opponent of God and the source of evil. In Job 1-2 and Zechariah 3:1-2, Satan is depicted as a member of God’s court. His basic duty was to charge human beings before God. In this he is clearly not an enemy of God or the leader of demonic forces of evil, as he becomes later. The duality of Venus finds fertile ground in 15, which knows everything is illusion. This means that you can escape being trapped in an uncontrollable ego. Through Capricorn, the apex of the zodiac, spirituality is an inspiration for others on the same path. 15 – is virtue or vice; there is no middle ground. The Devil may appear to be the adversary but sometimes he is our best and only ally to promote the alignment of the soul and personal- ity. Since the ego covertly sabotages spiritual practice while tricking you into believing that it is cooperating with the Soul. The devil’s purpose is to force you to make right decisions. The inner battle goes on as you are constantly caught in the middle of what is right and wrong. Challenge: Humor enables laughter at grandiosity. Liberate yourself from the conventional concept of the devil. Delve beneath the surface and believe in more than what is obvious to the senses. Realize that you create the limitations in your life. A narrow materialistic view of life impedes judgment. Life is stagnant when the truth is ignored by burying your head in the sand. Manipulating others for personal gain keeps you in a state of fear. Learn from the darker side of your personality. Take a look at the addictions that lurk in the subcon- scious. Loosen the chains and slip out of the power of your ego. The Devil’s torch can light the way out. Material wealth leaves you when you die while spiritual wealth is eternal.
  • 40. 16. The Tower: Moon and Mars T he Tower’s cylindrical shape symbolizes the positive and active principles in nature. The battlements of the tower form a crown being hit by a flash of lightening represent- ing Mars vital life force in the body, the tower being an analogy for the body, while the dove, prominent in many cosmogonies, symbolizes the soul. Lightening strikes the crown chakra and awakens the knowledge of the Divine Essence in the body by burning false ideas. Tow- ers, mystically speaking, aspire upwards towards God. In the Bible the tower is spoken of metaphorically, as an emblem of power and aspiration. The number 16 is associated with The Tower and the keyword for The Tower is awakening. This comes as a clear flash of understanding, a bolt from the blue bringing awareness of the true nature of self. What inspires fear in the mind of the ignorant liberates the enlightened, just as electricity frightens the primitive but is used constructively by the knowledgeable. A flash of lightening is another symbol of the electrical serpent force, or the kundalini. Astro- logically, The Tower and the number 16 is ruled by the Moon and Mars. Mars is the driv- ing force within any given mechanism, including the human body. It also rules the head, through Aries. After the kundalini or Mars force within the body is driven up the spine, there in the head, final illumination must take place. The Tower, a portal to the Soul, contains ceremonial initiation chambers. Mars gives aware- ness to the Soul’s thoughts. Basic desires (one, Mars) must be refined by (six, Venus) before they become reality in the subconscious mind (seven, Moon). Once the subconscious mind receives a thought it becomes a reality; it is only a question of time before the thought is acted out in the world. The bolt of lightening destroys the clouds of illusion that hide the in- ner reality of the Soul so the thoughts can be brought to the surface for analysis and release in a conscious way. Challenge: You are going to have a psychological and spiritual upheaval, which results in a transcendental state of consciousness. Do not succumb to thoughts of failure and catas- trophe. You are angry and frustrated because you are burnt out by emotional distress. Lack of faith causes pessimism and clouds your view of the world. Break free from emotional bondage and get used to doing things in a new way. Prepare for the rocky road ahead. A new approach to thinking about the problem is needed, think outside the box. Truth may not be what your ego wants to hear. It may be time to re-examine your belief structures, ideologies, and paradigms. Seek higher self-knowledge.
  • 42. 17. The Star: Saturn and Aquarius T he Egyptian god Horus’ Barque of Millions of Years, or ship of eternity, sails the cur- rents of the Milky Way. The Egyptian God Hapi, whose jugs poured purifying waters into the Nile, represents Aquarius. Isis, standing on water and earth represents the op- posites of nature sharing the divine energy of the Milky Way. The Ouroboros, the ringed serpent eating its own tail, has been interpreted as the Milky Way, since time immemorial. An ancient Hopi Indian prophecy states, “When the Blue Star Kachina – Sirius makes its appearance in the heavens, the Age of Aquarius will emerge in 2012.” The solar system will then become a binary sun system. During the day Sirius will appear as a silvery light, one hundred times brighter than our sun. During the evening, it will appear as a moon. The new frequencies emitted by the Blue Star will increase to over fifteen cycles per second. Sirius has mystical and direct influence over the whole solar system and is connected with almost every Egyptian god and goddess. The Great Pyramid was built to synchronize with Sirius so that the star would shine through the passageway to the Queen’s Chamber and impart the energy of Sirius to an initiate. According to Robert Temple’s book, The Sirius Mystery, our solar system is born from the womb of Isis. Sirius B is made of iron and radio astronomy has shown that iron is the same as the iron in our blood, the iron of Earth and of our solar system. Sirius is in our blood. We resonate to her. She is older than our solar system, which is a combination of interstellar debris, including the gas clouds, the sperm of Osiris/Orion. At midnight the mighty constellation of Orion, followed by the Dog-Star Sirius, takes its position in the central heavens south of the zenith. The three stars in the belt of Orion are known as the three Magi are represented by the three pyramids in the Giza plateau in Cairo, which point in a direct line to the Dog-Star, Sirius. To ancient Egyptians, the Dog Star represents the Christos, the soul of mankind. On a spiritual level, Sirius is our connection to the cosmos as the electrical body is able to absorb even higher vibrations of truth. 17 – incorporates the seven of receptivity (the Moon) and the one of concentration (Mars). Together they equal eight (Saturn), which corresponds with the rising spiritual force at the base of the spine and makes meditation easier. The light of Sirius activates the desire for a spiritual practice. Key 17 signals that goals and aspirations are only realized by taking positive action and promises an eventual peace of mind. Challenge: If you have been holding back in any way, now is the time to give generously. Listen to the waves of information coming to you from the stars and be open to all pos- sibilities. Meditate frequently and get in touch with your inner visions. Do not let difficult moments overwhelm you, as there is light at the end of the tunnel.
  • 44. 18. The Moon: Sun and Pisces T he conjunction of the Moon and Sun is a metaphor for the Sun’s orbit crossing the Milky Way at the exact place of the Sagittarius-Scorpio nexus. The constellations Lu- pus (constellation of the wolf) and Vulpecula (constellation of the fox) reside along the Milky Way at opposite ends of the ecliptic. The arrow of Sagittarius, the tongue of Serpens (a part of the ‘Healing’ constellation of Aesclepius /Ophiuchus), and the sting of Scorpio all define the position of the galactic center on December 21, 2012. At that moment it is predicted that time ceases and the world will end. But it’s not the end – Aesclepius, the God of medicine, transmits the constellation’s alchemical healing powers and brings all back to life. The Moon is also associated with the feminine principle with a special relationship to earth; hence the moon is a form of the Great Mother, known by many names: Bast, Ar- temis, Diana, and Isis—who each have a double aspect, spiritual and material. Bast is in- timately connected with the moon, especially in her form of the cat. Thus when she is depicted as a lioness her attributes are solar; when as a cat, lunar. This dual aspect bears a close analogy with the moon, which is further indicated when Bast is represented as being one of the goddesses of the birth chamber; and her son Khensu, the light bearer, fertilized the goddesses’ ovum to make the human embryo grow. In a series of lectures called ‘Gold of the Gods’ Sir Lawrence Gardner discusses ‘Star Fire’ which is Soma or Ambrosia the lunar essence of the Hindu goddesses. Gardner also noted that “In more ancient Sumer- ian times, during the days of the original Star Fire ritual, the bloodline kings who were fed with the hormone-rich lunar essence of the Annunaki goddesses were also said to have been nourished with their own milk —notably that of Ishtar.” This Star Fire was actu- ally the divine menstruum, which supposedly “constituted the purest and most potent life force.” The symbolism in key 18 shows that the subconscious mind can be changed through the tests of Saturn. When Saturn is energized by Mars it results in Self Realization. The Sun, representing true Consciousness, finds its own true identity in key 18. There are two cen- ters: The Soul, which is immortal and the Personality, which is mortal when it is unaware of the Soul. Realization is attainable in 18 because the light of the Moon shines through the clouds of illusion to align the soul with the personality. Challenge: Do not fear strange emotions, dreams, or even hallucinations for they enrich life. It is vital to take care of the body’s health. Think positively and take fresh air, exercise, rest, and sunlight. Do not deny your power to heal. If you become a healer your presence alone is a powerful force to relieve suffering. Embrace disturbed emotions that cause ir- ritability and heal them. This is not the moment to leave your comfort zone.
  • 46. 19. The Sun: Mars and the Sun T he Hyper-Cosmic Sun and source of consciousness, is located at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, which our solar system shares with at least 200 billion other stars and their planets, and where thousands of clusters and nebula coexist. There are many names and symbols for the central Sun of the Galaxy: The Egyptian Eye of Ra or Horus depicted as a Hawk and Uraeus (a cobra) either side of the sun disk; the Greek Helios and Apollo; the Persian Mithras; and the Mayan Galactic Butterfly or Hunab Ku. The Great Central Sun of the Cosmos is the source of all physical-spiritual creation. It is the Nucleus of the “Cosmic Egg.” The star Sirius is the focus of the Great Central Sun in our sector of the Galaxy, which magnifies the radiations of a particular constellation for 2,160 years during any particular zodiacal age. The sun magnifies the radiations of a particular constellation that affects our seasons and zodiacal ages. The sun is the cen- tral focus of radiating energy, physical and spiritual, in any solar system. The sun is the storehouse of the vital electrical orce of the solar system; it issues forth from the sun as life currents not only for the earth and every organism upon it, but for all the planets of the solar system (SD 1:531). In our solar system the sun is one of several suns subordinate to the central sun of the universal solar system. Similarly, in the ancient Mystery dramas, the Sun-god role was reenacted by the initiate in the field of human experience. The sun’s movements through the zodiac were considered the mirror of our life in spirit. To follow the yearly journey of the sun through the zodiac was to epitomize graphically the whole history of human experience. The power of the Sun is a living power identical with your spiritual power. The driving force of Mars must be controlled and raised to a higher level through the awareness of the true life-giving power of the Sun. All our energy comes from the Sun, and we in turn must radiate the energy we receive from it. The Sun rules the intellect and highlights hidden desires that cloud the awareness of Divinity. This key indicates that many turn to you for guidance because people are attracted to your inner wisdom. It can also mean that your Soul has been here on earth many times before and may be completing its mission by marrying the right soul mate. Challenge: The light of the sun is obscured by your lack of faith and refusal to overcome Mars aggressive influence. Be like a Sunflower that always faces the Sun to absorb its power. There is a lack of purpose in your life because your personality is not aligned with your Soul. Create a positive image of yourself but refrain from self-indulgence. Master your emotions, which cause loss of the Real Self.
  • 48. 20. Regeneration: Vulcan and Saturn T he two four pointed crosses (XX), represent the Great Celestial Conjunction of 2012 when the inhabitants of earth regenerate. The winged solar orb symbolizes the Egyptian Trinity, the three states of consciousness in the One Supreme Intelligence. Osiris (conscious- ness), Isis (sub-consciousness) and Horus (Super-consciousness). The Eye of Horus sees what has fallen out of harmony. When Vulcan (two) burns everything that is false, the soul is regenerated as pure love. Oneness with God (zero) means oneness with humanity. In 20 the power of the cosmos vibrates through Vulcan to unite spirit and matter. The Egyptians were not obsessed with the afterlife, as thought by early the Christians, but were focused on creating a higher type of human. Along with many ancient cultures they be- lieved DNA came from the stars and was destined to return to them. The Egyptians believed that humans are meant to evolve beyond their present terrestrial form. Even the Bible tells us we may become greater than angels. The winged globe is emblematic of the Egyptian Trinity. The Wings, the Serpents, and the solar Orb are the insignia of Amon Ra and Osiris. J.J.Hurtak’s scientific examination of the world’s key pyramid sites reveal them to be sophisticated harmonic structures, not only mirroring positions of the planets and constellations but designed to activate the harmonics of human chakras. Each stone within the Great Pyramid is harmonically tuned to a specific frequency or musical tone and the King’s Chamber, in the center of the Great Pyramid, is tuned to the frequency of the human heart beat. In mythology Vulcan was thrown from heaven to forge the spiritual essence of heaven and earth together. The analogy of the myth represents the fall of your soul into human form ruled by Saturn. The soul then has come many times to burn away the layers of illusion that cause false impression of our separation from the being One with God. Vulcan opens the lines of communication between the Soul and the ego. Saturn purifies the heart. The uni- verse is the vast body of God, cosmic electrical energy is the astral form of God, and the soul or life in you is the essence of creation. Challenge: Know that you are the essence of God. Your life will reflect this if you are guided by your Soul most of the time. No longer question your divinity so that your life’s work starts in earnest. Find the meaning of life. The keys to liberation are already there but you are unwilling to use them. Accept responsibility for your actions and act rather than react. The call from the unknown is not listened to because you do not meditate on the breath of life within.
  • 50. 21. The Universe: Jupiter and Saturn T he final card is numbered 21 or XXI because the Great Celestial Conjunction, symbol- ized by two crosses, occurs in the Milky Way at the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. Johannes Kepler described his new astronomy as “celestial physics,” and believed that the great conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn in the sign of Pisces announced the real beginning of the Age of Aquarius. The Ouroboros represents the ecliptic crossing of the Milky Way where the Sun resides at the equinoxes and or solstices on the Great Celestial Conjunction in 2012/12. Our goddess is a Cosmokrator maintaining cosmic order with four fixed signs of the zodiac, which hold our world together; for when they change, as they periodically do, our world falls apart. She has a serpent coiled around her to symbolize eternity. In Hindu philosophy the seven-headed serpent is infinite time itself and symbolizes endless cycles of time. The serpent coiled in a circle symbolizes the eternal dance of life. Through the Eye of Horus she understands the limitations of the ego. 21 – marks the time when there is a pause in life before the next cycle begins. Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius are the Four Fixed Cardinal points of the vault of heaven and are known as the Sacred Four, the Four Faces of God, or the Four Archangels. It is through our understanding of the Four Ages, and the fixed signs of the zodiac that we can finally appre- ciate the message that our ancestors have handed down to us. We are about to pass through a null point of hyper-dimensional space. This awareness helps us comprehend the nature of the times in which we live and the destiny of the human race. 21 – indicates that you are aware of the cosmic breath that permeates you. Saturn rules key 21 and uses the energies of the sacral plexus to uproot deeply rooted desires, for power, money, position, sensual pleasures and other attractions, which have caused endless trou- ble. Traditionally the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn signals the birth of Avatars who bring the message of love to the world. This combination of planets seeks to unite things of Earth with the wisdom of Jupiter. Challenge: Give of yourself for true happiness. Although you’ve passed many tests in life and are ready to live by the laws of the universe, you still resist knowing that we are all One. Be ready to play the game of life and follow the path of your Soul’s purpose. The only reason for being in the world—is to know your True Self, “The I AM.” Stop thinking that even one aspect of this world is real. Conquer the forces that impede your spiritual development.
  • 52. 22/0. The Soul: Earth and Uranus T he Soul, an individual ray of the Great Central Sun, is spiraling to earth to take human form again so that it can return ego less to the heart of the sea of spiritual essence at the Galactic Center. The Soul is here to be part of the new wave of consciousness that will end the negative state of affairs in the world. You’ve been here thousands of times to experience life without ego, but without success. A human soul without ego = God. It is not easy to take human birth so do not waste this opportunity to learn the lessons of the Soul. The Soul is urging you to take the plunge, follow the heart, and listen to its inner call. Before time and before space only all pervading Consciousness existed. Then some ‘Di- vine’ impulse started the process of creation of this Universe of which sages say we are the crown jewel. Just as an architect injects his vibration into his creation so too the first pri- mordial architect placed His characteristics into us. A child is a combination of the genes and DNA of its parents, which are influenced by planetary forces, and the Divine DNA of Universal Consciousness which is ‘Love’. The moment the soul enters the womb planetary movements and cycles affect the human DNA. Astrology is the interaction between the vibrations and frequencies of these celestial bodies which program the DNA with emo- tions: Love, Hate, Fear, etc. Astrologically, the planet Earth is associated with the Soul and the number 22. Since 22 reduces to a 4 (2 + 2 = 4), the Earth rules over this vibration. A blending of spiritual con- sciousness with the proper use and control of the world’s material offerings, including the body itself, gives ‘Total Truth Consciousness’. The Circle was chosen as a symbol because the solar system appears to surround us like a wheel. Uranus, planetary ruler of the Soul, dissipates negative thoughts and behavior patterns that impede enlightenment flowing to those around you. If the Soul’s mission is successful it will be free from the emotions that force it to constantly return to become liberated. Karma has left its scars on your soul so that is why it’s returning to heal them. This cycle will continue until the Soul and personal- ity have aligned as One in the Eternal Now. The Soul is the vital breath at the core of your being which is pure love. Challenge: Follow your soul’s purpose on earth and honor your agreement with the ‘Di- vine Will.’ From now on accept your vital breath as your real essence. Constantly remem- ber that you are not the body/mind complex. Use this mantra: As long as this vital breath is there, God is there. Meditate on the divine energy within you as it can lead you to new heights. With this key anything, or nothing, can happen. Love yourself to become the bliss which is all you will ever be. Repeat the mantra; I Am God, I am not different to God.
  • 54. 23. King of Wands: Aries King of Wands, represented by Thoth, the Cosmic Logos, is depicted with the face of a dog- headed baboon and the body of a man. Thoth the moon god greeted the sun god, Ra, as he rose. The Dog faced Baboon is a symbol of the genetic union of Dog and Ape (Sirius and the Earth). The motto of the First Decan of Aries is: Action — Energy — Activity — Generos- ity — Spontaneity. The King of Wands (cardinal fire) presides over the first ten degrees of Aries (fire). Often his ideas are irrational and dominated by high emotions. He accepts challenge and fights relentlessly to achieve success. The First Decan of Aries indicates fearlessness, but beware of becoming too stubborn. This Mars ruled Decan gives us a strong driving force for passions. Those governed by this Decan are idealistic, romantic and restless. You have an abundance of ideas and want to improve existing conditions. You are respected by your family and peers. Your creative and inventive abilities may express themselves in re- search and communication. You are practical, philosophical and spiritual and your wisdom gives you increased perception to move through difficult situations constructively. Your key phrase should be, ‘Thy will be done.’ Challenge: You need to learn how to pace yourself in order to avoid early “burnout.” Find an outlet to serve others. The best way to keep the ego under control is to cultivate kindness and thoughtfulness to others. Avoid judging others and becoming patronizing. You become selfish and blow up when things don’t go your way. Let go and feel the passion and the fire within. If your expectations are not irrationally high, the King of Wands will take you to the summit.
  • 55. 23. King of Wands
  • 56. 24. Queen of Wands: Sun and Leo in Aries The Queen of Wands is represented by the feline Egyptian goddess, Bastet, who genetically engineered various kinds of life forms in the universe. Bastet symbolizes the unrestricted potential of all creation. Felines merged their DNA with mammals and began a program of genetic upgrading that would give them a soul and, in the process create a new species that would become known as Humans. Bastet presided over sexual experiments in Atlantis (and later Egypt), which gave rise to mermaids, minotaurs, centaurs, flying horses etc. Bastet was seen as defender of Ra, the solar deity, who called her, Lady of the Flame. The Queen of Wands presides over the second decan of Aries, which is the Leo Decan, presided over by the Sun. While Aries supplies originality, dynamism and courage, Leo is relentless until success comes. The Sun adds a steady flow of mental and physical energy to this Decan. This secondary planetary influence also combines generosity, nobility and lead- ership balance the aggressive trait inherent in the Aries temperament. Romance, admiration, gratification and entertainment are of great importance. There is difficulty in life without a partner. You have looked deeply into your soul, which has led to transformation. Your pur- suits are now positively energized. Challenge: The aggressive influence of Aries is ruling now. Remove yourself from jealous people who are narrow minded, self-centered and domineering. Do not harm others or yourself through aggressive behavior. If you’re verbally beaten you can become revengeful. Avoid being dominating, overbearing, envious, or bitter

  • 58. 25. Prince of Wands: Sun in Aries The Prince of Wands is represented by Surya, the Sun God, who, according to Indian leg- end, was married to Sanghya (consciousness). The two had three children Vasvat Manu, the first man, Yama, the impartial lord of death and Yamuna, the holy river. This legend about Surya and the planets has a wonderful symbolic meaning. Sunlight, together with consciousness, gives birth to life, death and water (Yamuna). The planets were also once part of the sun’s light and were born from it. The Prince of Wands presides over the spring season, (Aries, Taurus, and Gemini) from the time the Sun enters the sign of Aries until it reaches the summer solstice at zero degrees of the sign of Cancer. The Sun is exalted in Aries, and its power awakens new energy as nature responds to its warming rays. This energy is a gift resulting from courage displayed in past incarnations when you performed acts of selfless service. This gift must be handled with responsibility so that it does not harm others through aggressive behavior. Like nature, at this time of the year, you gain strength by overcoming obstacles. There can be difficulties as you struggle to meet the Sun’s promise, but persevere though hard work. The path of the Sun expands your spiritual life. The Prince of Wands alerts us to change within our lives, reminding us that change is es- sential for growth and to roll with the changes we encounter. Prince of Wands can attract our attention to an individual in our lives who is a restless spirit eager for new adventures. Challenge: Remain alert to the possibilities of overcoming obstacles. Life is disrupted when you are not on track. You’ve lost your focus on what is important. There might be confu- sion and disharmony in life or an individual who lacks the ability to put closure to projects. Remember your past life of integrity. 25 can be a sign of conflict and a loss of energy. Com- plete your work. Listlessness, laziness, and dissatisfaction cause entropy.

  • 60. 26. Princess of Wands: Jupiter and Venus in Aries The Princess of Wands is represented by, Lilith, who had intercourse with Adam causing the seed of the serpent (wisdom) to proliferate in the world. Lilith is believed to have been the woman created prior to Eve and she displeased God, according to the legend. She is the Mother of Israel and can be approached at any time, and any place. She particularly respects wisdom and good deeds. In the third Decan of Aries, Jupiter instills a superabundance of vital force and energy. Jupi- ter’s physical stamina has the ability to shake off illness, and give a positive winning attitude towards life. Inner conviction easily overcomes most tests in life. The influence of Venus tempers Aries’ sentimental rash decisions. Jupiter influences the intellect. The Princess of Wands is impulsive, aggressive, and not easily satisfied in relationships. She is driven, ambitious, and enthusiastic. Rationality and patience are not counted among her virtues. These aspects suggest you approach love casually so it is much harder to settle down. You will receive good news as old fears have lost their power. You must transform your fears into love. Love takes time to mature and it cannot flourish overnight except in rare exceptions. Challenge: You tend to remain rather aloof from others. Pleasure-seeking tendencies should be controlled. Jupiter supplies sincerity and generosity. Venus afflicted in Aries causes im- petuousness in your love life and difficulty in controlling the sexual urge. Don’t be upset by bad or disappointing news. Be aware that you have the tendency to be domineering, ma- nipulative, untrustworthy, and dishonest. Control your temper and do not let little things upset you.
  • 62. 27. Ace of Wands The Ace of Wands is symbolized by the World Tree, the first creation in the universe from which everything emanated. Sacred cultures believe the material world emanates from the spiritual world, and they use key symbols to show how the spiritual world is organized, such as Sacred Trees. In Celtic culture they honor the Oak Tree, in Indian spirituality it is the Banyan tree under which the Buddha experienced enlightenment, in Norse mythology Yggdrasil is a giant ash tree that links all the worlds and the Cabala has its Sacred Tree of Life. Sacred trees all have certain things in common — roots that reach down into the under- world, a great trunk in the middle world, and branches and leaves that reach the upper world — the cosmos. We can travel in them to access worlds because sacred trees are the living structures of all the world. Sacred science in ancient cultures had one thing in com- mon; they believed that these trees were circulation systems for human consciousness. The Aces of the Tarot deck preside over the elements of fire, earth, and water. 27 – is a number of great spiritual strength. The fire elements (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius) relate to the Ace of Wand’s guidance to the Self. The Ace of Wands is the ‘Life Force’ itself. The tree shakes false securities like broken branches. Wands represent the will or personal desire to do things. Wands are all about motivation because they deal with self-perception, ambi- tions, and ways to feel successful. Every fairy tale includes at least one magic wand. Now, what is a magic wand? It is simply the tool used by witches, fairy godmothers, or whoever focuses their will to change reality. So, when you see this Ace be aware that what is being talked about is an act of will. Challenge: Forget tired, worn-out solutions. Things are falling apart and it is difficult to start a dream project. Ambitions are misdirected because of fear of success. Expect delays, the loss of a business or general discontent. Examine life to see how its energy can work. Be daring and brave. Sometimes you have to risk getting what you want. Look for the path that will excite you and push you beyond your limits. Seize the initiative, and let enthusiasm take you to new heights. Wands are the suit of individual power and fulfillment. This Ace tells you that a new passion is beginning.

  • 64. 28. Two of Wands: Mars in Aries This Decan influences Mars, the ruling planet of Aries. There is a vitalizing, stimulating, and resourceful quality in this division of the Zodiac. Mars in astrology represents the en- ergy to carry out various functions. This key indicates a super abundance of self confidence or alternatively it can result in many ego clashes if you come on too strong, so pace your self in order to avoid early “burnout.” The Two of Wands glorifies individual courage and taps into the Magician’s force to be great. A powerful person is like a magnet that attracts all within a certain area. True power always comes from the Divine. It passes through us and then flows out into the world. You are blessed when you understand this relationship, because this flow brings a tremendous feeling of expansion and fulfillment. The Two of Wands indicates that power is a major is- sue in the situation. You or someone else has it or wants it. Challenge: You do not appreciate yourself. You get no real satisfaction from what you’re do- ing. When Mars is afflicted learn to control energy. Practice self-control to regain balance. Problems develop when we forget that we are not the source of power, only its conduit. Be careful not to let the intoxicating feelings that come with power overwhelm good inten- tions. Look carefully at your goals and activities to make sure you are using power wisely. Take the gift of power and use it to mold a positive environment.

  • 66. 29. Three of Wands: Leo and Sun in Aries The Three of Wands is represented by Freyja. The asterism Orion’s Belt was known as “Freyja’s Distaff ” Some have pointed out that the constellation is on the celestial equator and have suggested that the stars rotating in the night sky may have been associated with Freyja’s spinning wheel. Freyja’s name means “love” or “beloved one.” Freyja was a goddess associated with married women. Women prayed to her when giving birth to children. Freyja (like Odin) has many titles by which she is known. Freyja itself means “the lady.” Her other titles include: Vanadis (Goddess of the Vanir), Vanabrudhr (Bride of the Vanir), Hörn (Mistress of Flax), Gefn (the giver), Syr (the sow), Mardöll (the Sea-bright) and Gull- veig (the gold-greedy). The Second Decan of Aries, an ambitious area of the zodiac, gives great momentum to the chosen goal. This vibration gives vision and foresight for your many talents. With the help of Freyja, people are willing to invest with you to create a profitable partnership but don’t be gold greedy like Freyja. The Second Decan of Aries supplies dynamism and courage, Leo ensures success. The in- fluence of the Sun, the secondary planet governing this Decan enhances originality and softens the aggressive trait inherent in an Aries temperament. Thus, this Decan’s combina- tion of influences has immense potential for discoveries and unique inventions. Now is the time to be a confident leader open to new areas of interest. This energy is, in effect, a kind of reward or gift to you resulting from acts of courage in past incarnations, when self-interests were set aside. Challenge: Do not allow negative energy to express itself. Focus on the positive and con- structive side of yourself. Keep a balance between your material and spiritual life. The past is the past, stay in the present. Take the long view. Don’t react in the heat of the moment, but step back and reconsider. See how the present affects the future. This key asks you to dream beyond current limitations.

  • 68. 30. Four of Wands: Sagittarius and Venus in Aries The Third Decan of Aries is under the influence of Sagittarius, one of the secondary planets governing this Decan. It induces interesting changes of personality. Here, the influence of Venus (the other secondary planet governing this Decan) tempers the Aries tendency to be rash and indiscriminate. Aries influences dreams of faraway places, ancient mysteries, and miracles. Supreme power, express itself in zero. Venus, symbol of love and beauty, com- bines with Aries, the sign of new beginnings and indicates a successful new relationship if you have learnt to love yourself. The Four of Wands brings some excitement and freedom into your life. Freedom takes many forms, but is always exhilarating. When we break physical, mental or emotional bonds a new period of growth and happiness is experienced. If you feel restricted right now use the energy of the Four of Wands to feel free. Embrace open vistas. Challenge: Control the sexual urge and avoid infatuation. Make sure your affections are pure as you go into a relationship. Do not forget that you absorb the vibrations of every lover you take. Take time to develop intimate relationships. Any desire to possess another is considered a perversion of love.

  • 70. 31. Five of Wands: Saturn in Leo The First Decan of Leo indicates a strong will to be resourceful in all endeavors. The Phoe- nix burns itself to ashes in the sacred fire from which a new one arises. This is a metaphor for burning conflict and disharmony in your life by observing your negative traits. Saturn causes imbalance. This key indicates that those around you are lost in their selfish egos. You are mentally restless and lack peace. Bring back balance to your life. The Five of Wands indicates that your environment may seem hostile. Nothing flows smoothly; everyone is working at cross-purposes. You’re going to need extra patience and perseverance to get to the point where you can accomplish something. The Five of Wands does not represent major blockages, just many small, irritating ones. It also represents a deep sense of frustration in your spiritual practice or a feeling of creative restriction. Your ideas may be confused as Saturn in Leo causes difficulty in communication. Challenge: Saturn in Leo always points in the same direction: ego driven desires and attach- ment to a false reality. The worse the aspects to Saturn, the more need to correct them. Leo – is blocked by Saturn. Your free flow of energy is restricted and you are stagnating. Life is a burden and you feel powerless. This key also stands for competition as it provokes effort, generates excitement and encourages the best. You may discover you have rivals who are challenging your position. You may feel disheartened by a highly divisive working environ- ment. But work towards cooperation.
