Twitter has a 60 second tutorial where they help set up your account, and import your contacts. Make sure your icon photos are adhering to the aspect ratio, or nothing will appear.
Use the “cog” icon to access your settings, from there you can change privacy, profile, and other aspects of your account.
I suggest not to do protected tweets. It defeats the purpose.
Make sure to set up your email notifications to options that make Twitter convenient, not annoying.
Profiles that have images, headers, and customer backgrounds get more traffic.
When following people, you can look through your email contacts, without them being spammed or notified.
USE RT- to retweet people but still have your icon come up in newsfeedsRT- someone if you want to just spread the word for someone@ mention someone if you want to have a direct conversation (that can be seen by people who follow you and the person you are at mentioning) Add a “.” before an @mention so everyone can see your posts.
Use # hastags to be apart of the conversation, or to generate a conversation, or to just be comical.
Use list to segment friends, sports, business, and other interest to gain information from specific groups of people from your news feeds quickly.
Favorite posts so you can archive information, have others see what you are interested in, or give kudos to people you follow.
DM is a private way to use twitter. You can send 140 character messages to people as long as each party follows the other.
Use simple cues to tweet articles, and information to your feed without having to log into twitter.
