2. FORUM | MOSCOW
UNIQUE EVENT FOR RUSSIA AND THE WORLD
In 2014, the second edition of this event - the World Football
Forum - will take place in Moscow, once again bringing together
leading figures from football across the globe in a country that
will become the centre of the football world, right up to the 2018
FIFA World Cup™.
When the final whistle is blown at the
Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil on 13 July 2014, all eyes will
turn to Russia as the host of the 2018
FIFA World Cup™. Russia has now
four years to finalise and perfect its
organisation of the biggest single sport
event in the world.
Host Cities from Russia’s European
border to the Urals will prepare to
welcome and host the world and the
whole football family.
In 2011, Eventica introduced a first to
Russia: Inside World Football Moscow
Forum - a high profile international
conference focusing on the
financial, business and participation
opportunities in Russian football.
3. FORUM | MOSCOW
The FIFA World Cup™ is a
massive industry in its own
right. Global sport’s most
popular spectacle is watched
by billions of people, and the
opportunity to host it carries
substantial economic, political
and also symbolic rewards.
In Russia, where the FIFA
World Cup™ will take place
for the first time in 2018, it is
already playing a vital role in
jumpstarting a wide range of
existing modernisation plans,
with a dramatic overhaul of
the country’s infrastructure.
The recent success of the
Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics
has proved that Russia
has the capacity to stage a
global scale event. However,
managing the size and
complexity of this historic
event will require the kind of
close dialogue with leading
industry specialists that only
a major international b2b
conference can provide.
The World Football Forum,
which will take place annually
in Russia in the run-up to
2018, offers just such a
platform.
AN EVENT OF GLOBAL SCALE

THE ROAD TO 2018
Moscow (Luzhniki and Spartak Stadiums), Saint Petersburg,
Kaliningrad, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Samara,
Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd and Saransk.
Preparing for 2018 will require
more than the construction of new
stadiums and the refurbishment of
existing ones: also underway is the
wholesale redevelopment of local
infrastructure in the host cities,
including the transport network,
hotel accommodation and other vital
services, as part of a massive multi-
billion dollar investment programme.
There will be numerous other demands
as well, from raising sponsorship
revenue to developing a far-reaching
legacy strategy.
A total of 1070 infrastructure
projects have already been identified
in the 11 Host Cities:
