3. LSU History
Louisiana State University and Agricultural
Mechanical College originated in certain
land grants made by the United States
government in 1806, 1811, and 1827 for use
as a seminary for learning.
William Tecumseh Sherman was LSU's first
superintendent in 1860

 LSU has a curriculum that will allow you to
customize the program path you need and
want with electives and specializations.
 Traditional months needed for degree is 22
months and as you go further the amount
of months increase
 After freshman – senior years you will have a
total of 120 hours

8. Other information
 LSU has had many celebrities attend their
school.
 Many have been professional athletes.
 Some are Shaquille O’neal, Pete Maravich,
Patrick Peterson, Brandon Bass, and Glen
“Big Baby” Davis.
 LSU has several Ancient Indian mounds in the
corners of their campus

9. Why I want to attend LSU
 I have always wanted to go to LSU since I
was 7. I am a fan of their sports, which is
the main reason why I like LSU. I have
been on their campus several times and I
enjoyed it every time. LSU, in my opinion,
is the best school in the state, and it is 10
minutes away from where I live.
