Customer Review
A 3-wheeled Rollator Like This One Is Saving My Life! : The one I have is virtually identical in construction to this one, but I bought it
about a year ago from the Dr. Leonard's catalogue of stuff for old folks and other sufferers, about a month or two before my addiction to
Amazon achieved its current levels. The big wire basket has to be taken off and held whenever you're making yourself more acceptable by
showing how handily your rollator gets skinny inside a car, bus, cafe or wherever. But that basket is so handy for groceries et al that I see it
as a necessity, never a burden. Three wheels as opposed to four is a benefit that has already made you a more welcome visitor, a handicapped
person able to get into most places more easily, though without the bonus "seat" most four wheelers give you. I count myself lucky for not
2. having missed that seat (yet), and have found the only real problem with three wheels is that the lonely front wheel can give you a big
surprise if you aren't careful. This it does (rarely, thank the Lord) by slipping into the occasional sidewalk crack big enough to stop it (and
you) in its tracks - while delivering a jolt that could easily turn into a fall. I wrote and rewrote that last sentence carefully, because if my
daughter had read one like it, she might have talked me out of buying mine. And in that case my life would not have been saved, as it truly
has. Anyway, if you plan to own a 3-wheel rollator (and I'm not real sure about you 4-wheel folks), plan always to be on pre-alert for "the
Front-Wheel Jolt." Once you've had such a Jolt, you'll see why. But armed with foresight, you'll look for all the world like you expected the
next one before it happened, Here's one suggestion for whoever's designing next year's model (like my neighbor Tucker Viemeister,
maybe?): Why not give this baby a bigger front wheel and make it that much harder for a crack to trap it? Of course, a bigger wheel would
probably cut down the storage space afforded by its two terrific baskets. A great loss, every square inch of it, in a very worthy cause. But
please, Mr. Designer, save as much basketing as you can. And meanwhile, other 3-wheeled rollator drivers, remember that curbs can be
especially dangerous Jolting places, and that avoiding all sidewalk cracks is a good idea; though many cracks are completely harmless,
they're much more harmless if you see them first.
Invacare 3 Wheel Walker : I pruchased this for my 91 year old mother who was constantly fighting with trying to get around in the house
with her old regular walker. She loves her Invacare!! She can get around faster and in more confined spaces and she says that she does not
have to try to pick up on the walker to get around. She can move at a faster rate and feels more independant.
Buy From Amazon! : I bought this identical rollator from my local handicapped store and paid twice this. Frankly, it never occurred to me
that Amazon even sold these things.
I need stability due to a ruined back from a spinal infection. I can walk a little with a cane but am unstable (and I'm only 56 years of age). I
hate walkers-the trad ones like I've still got in my garage. I discovered that these rollators existed when I saw a little old lady in a store with a
Hugo. I drive a Corolla, though, and I needed something not only light enough that I could pick it up, but also compact enought that it would
fit in my little trunk.
I went to my local handicapped place and tested out a whole pile of four wheeled rollators. Trouble was, none of them would fit easily in my
trunk without at least a lot of folding and usually some disassembly. This 3-wheeler just collapses from side to side. I got the basket that's
pictured but have never used it. The soft bag that's between the legs in the photo just collapses with the handles and actually holds quite a bit
of stuff. I mean, when I go grocery shopping I buy way more than this stuff, anyway.
There's no question that a 3-wheeler isn't as totally stable as a 4-wheeler. However, don't rule it out if you think you might not need a
4-wheeler. There are definite benefits in size and bulk savings. The only downside, to this one at least, is a lack of a seat. I've actually seen a
3-wheeler somewhere that has a seat, but this ain't it. I do have two four-wheelers with seats, but this is the one that just stays in the car for
use anytime. I find the wheels do fine on grass and the brakes really hold great. It's given me the stability I need and isn't ugly like a walker.
I'm delighted with mine!
Invacare 3 Wheel Rollator : This is my favorite model to carry This my second one I have 3 more 4 wheel models which are heavy to lift in
car. Only take them when I have to walk a great distance and have to sit and rest. This Invacare 3 wheel fold up quick and is easy to take in a
crowded restaurant.
Great Walker : This walker is very convenient, lightweight and stable. I highly recommend it! It is very compact and easy to collapse (and
set up) when taking it in and out of a car. Also small footprint when going to a restaurant. Loads of storage space, and the front basket and
tray are very handy when at home. Easy to push and maneuver.
Scooterman : Well built. Strong. Easy to manuver. Easy to get in car. Push one lever and it folds up. Light. Love the basket. Scoot around
bedroom in the morning putting all necessities in basket. Socks, shoes etc. Just don't go to fast because front wheel obstruction can cause
head over heel crash. (doesn't come with rollbar)
A Great Walker : THIS MODEL WALKER WAS PURCHASED BECAUSE IT IS LIGHTER AND MORE TRIM THAN THE
STANDARD 4 LEG WALKER. IT IS EASIER FOR MY MOTHER TO GET IN AND OUT OF HER CAR AND USE WHILE SHE IS
OUT AND ABOUT TOWN. IT TOOK HER A LITTLE WHILE TO GET USED TO THE WAY A 3 WHEELED WALKER ACTS BUT
ONCE SHE MASTERED IT, SHE WAS GLAD SHE HAD THIS UNIT.
Problems Using And Returning Product To Medical Devices : I ordered this Drive 3-Wheeled Rollator via Amazon from Medical
Devices in Florida. It arrived ok. However, my wife found it difficult to move over the saddles under our doors. We live in an apartment
building. Also, the rear wheels were wider than her 4 wheel rollator and she had trouble getting it through 30" doors without banging into
them.
I got the RMA and returned the product promptly. It cost me $27 to return it via UPS from New York. Medical Devices charged a 25%
restocking fee and deducted the cost of the initial shipping. There is no indication on Amazon's website that these charges exist. You need to
dig deep to find it. Long story short, I cost me $54 to return a $81 rollator to Medical Devices. I called them and explained the situation, but I
3. might as well have talked to a wall. They accused me of threatening them. You decide if you want to risk it...!!
3 Wheeled Rollator : Purchased this for my elderly mother in-law. She already had a 4 wheeled walker that is excellent but we needed
something easier to transport in a car. Very simple to setup. The pouch, basket and tray are very very useful for her. The larger rubber tires
work well on her gravel driveway. Transporting is easy and simple; pull one lever up and push the handles towards each other. Its light
enough for my wife to lift with one hand. Fits easily behind the front seat of our car with room to spare.
Supplier Poor : This item was defective, then replaced. Within first year, new one had a part break but never heard from supplier about a
replacement part. Ordered a new one, it too had a problem that had to be fixed from parts from older one. Amazon customer service was not
help with this, kept referring us back to supplier.
