We investigated the performance of Magic Ring (a modified Plastibell device) for circumcision in children to reduce its risk of complication. Introduction This was a retrospective study of 52 children circumcised in Muslimat Public Hospital, Ponorogo. They had a modified Plastibell circumcision designed to reduce risk of complications of standard Plastibell devices (slippage, migration, bleeding, secondary infection, and pain from trapped frenulum). Some modifications were made such as deeper canal to ensure faster drop-off interval, ligation by surgical thread around the canal to reduce bleeding risk and secondary infection, and upsizing the device 2-4mm above the glan’s diameter to prevent slippage and migration. Patients were followed up everyday up to 8 weeks after the procedure. Outcome measures were evaluated such as slippage & migration rate, bleeding rate, infection rate, and pain scale Materials and Method Circumcision using the Modified Plastibell Device reduced the overall complication rate to 1,9 % including a case of postoperative bleeding caused by excessive physical activity, compared to our previous data. There were no cases of migration and slippage reported. No patient experienced infection and moderate to severe pain. All enrolled patients were satisfied with the postoperative outcome. Resulit Conclusion It might come as a solution to reduce risks associated with standard Plastibell usage in circumcision patients as it shows lower bleeding, slippage, and migration rate and better pain scale.
