1. Bowling at Galaxy!
We went bowling last
Sunday and had a blast.
Jeremy and Jake and all
the mentors went and
had tons of food and
FUN! Most everyone got
at least one spare or
strike!! Herbie actually
got three strikes in a row.
Matt had the
professional bowler
stance down to a tee.
Let me just tell you the
whole bowling
experience was just
crazy WACK!!!! Besides
having fun we also raised
money for the Big-
Brothers, Big-Sisters
program. If weren’t able
to make it, then you
really missed out on a
great time.
Teen-Zine
Teens got off to a great start this
semester with some fun programs. If
you missed the first couple of meetings
then you missed the mentors amazing,
“ If I were not a TEEN” skit. It was so
funny!!!! I’ll give you a few details if you
weren’t there to experience the
wonderfully acted dramatic characters
that we portrayed. Herbie was a
cheerleader “GO! GO! FIGHT! FIGHT!
Gee I hope I look alright!!!” Katrina was
a plumber. “Plunge it! Flush it! Look
out below! I wouldn’t want to be near
that toilet. :-) Then Alex who was a
February FUN!!! preacher, “Well, well, you never can
tell you might go to heaven or you
might go to….” What more can I say?
Then there was Matt who was a
fireman. “Jump baby, jump baby!
Ahh….Splat!!” Then we had our
awesome new mentor Josh who was a
farmer! “Give Betsy Give!!! The babys’
gotta live!” By the way, he was
wrapped in a present just for you and
we almost lost him because he
couldn’t breath. Then Luke was a
flasher. “Hey Lady, you Lady, Look
what I got!!!!” He says this as he opens
his long overcoat. So much more has
happened besides the skit, but you will
have to ask others to find out!!! Ask
about Once On This Island!!!!!!!!!!
“All our dreams can come
true – if we have the courage
to pursue them.”

bottom of the page:
Have you ever quit a job you had? Most people quit their
jobs because they have found a better-paying job
elsewhere. Some, however, quit for unusual reasons. The
Creative Group, a California-based staffing service, took a
survey of managers by asking them:
What is the most unusual reason you’ve heard of an
employee giving for quitting his or her job?
The responses include:
“A worker didn’t like to use the computer and said the job
wasn’t as glamorous as she thought.”
“A person left because she didn’t like the lighting in our
building.”
“One guy said he was making too much money and didn’t
feel like he was worth it.”
“An employee left because he didn’t like the smell of the
office.”
“We had a guy who said he couldn’t get up in the
morning.”
“A worker left to climb Mount Everest.”
Most of the responses came from “exit interviews,” which
help managers find out what departing employees think of
a company, and their reasons for leaving. “These results
show you can’t please every employee all the time,” says
Tracey Fuller, executive director of The Creative Group.
