2. Initial school magazine task;
The first draft of this magazine was
created on publisher basically to
show all of the different
techniques that could be used
later on for our final piece.
The magazine itself was basic and
the colours did not compliment
each other to create a well made
copy.
This helped me to understand the
layouts and colours that should
be used to create a professional
look when creating the front
page of the magazine.
This could be changed by creating a
cover image that acted as a back
drop rather than little images
that look basic on the blue
background.
3. My final cover of the music
magazine improved from the
school magazine as I decided to
use a background image that
would cover and act as the
colours rather than needing to
create a separate background.
This worked well creating the
white space that is minimalist.
By adding a border at the bottom
of the page it adds a
professional feel and allows
more room for advertisement.
The images of bands and the live
performances were all taken by
me at various gigs and the
backing image was taking using
a tripod.
The ‘Soundwave’ font creates an
appearance to the magazine the
reaffirms the genre within the
magazine
4. The basic contents page for
the initial task was like the
front cover except there are
less images and the writing
stayed as one colour.
This would have to be changed
because otherwise it would
look too unprofessional
The page numbers do not link in
with the letters and the bullet
points are placed down one
side of the page and looks like
it should appear in a basic
draft rather than a final piece
of writing.
5. • I liked the layout of the contents
title and added ‘SOUNDWAVE’
underneath it so that look is more
professional and there is continuity
between the cover page and the
contents.
• I also kept the numbers that
coincide with the column down the
side of the page that links to a
page, it appeared in all of my
research magazines and I liked the
idea of it in my media product.
• The images that range down the
side of the page add a theme of
the music genre with the bright
colours and the idea of the
audience.
• The bottom banner was another
thing that I saw on my research
products it added a professional
look to the contents.
6. The double page
spread follows
much the same
theme and
colour scheme
as the first two
pages.
I like the light
blue theme that
is similar to the
baby pink on the
cover and the
contents • The article itself is spread over the two
however it is still pages and is set out like a Q&A in blue
different to and black to distinguish each part. I like
cover and adds this format because it appears in all
an interesting magazines and adds a professional tone
tone. as well as taking one quote and adding it
to the picture.
