"FRIARS KID MR. HARRIS: Veteran Theatrical Manager
Butt of Jokes at Dinner" read the headline of the December
10, 1910 issue of the New York Tribune.
After this, the Friar Club dinners bloomed into an exclusive
event, and the first formal ______ went down in 1949 with
Maurice Chevalier as the guest of honor. It was obscene,
unedited, outrageous and sidesplitting. The Friars soon coined
another motto: “We only _____ the ones we love.”
One of the managers at Oak Ridge stated, “Well it wasn't that
the job was tough ... it was confusing. You see, no one knew
what was being made in Oak Ridge, not even me, and a lot of
the people thought they were wasting their time here. It was
up to me to explain to the dissatisfied workers that they were
doing a very important job. When they asked me what, I'd
have to tell them it was a secret. But I almost went crazy
myself trying to figure out what was going on.”
What was the secret at Oak Ridge?
In WW1, the Germans converted Liner SMS Cap Trafalgar
into an armed merchant cruiser, which they then disguised as
British Liner HMS Carmania. But this strategy did not work
because off the coast of Brazil, Trafalgar was attacked and
sunk by a British ship.
Why did the strategy fail?
X.com (originally known as X Y) is a question answering-focused e-
business and web search engine founded in 1996 by Garrett
Gruener and David Warthen in Berkeley, California.
X.com has been criticized for its browser toolbar, which has been
accused of behaving like malware due to its bundling with other software and
the difficulty of its uninstallation.
The original idea behind X Y was to allow users to get answers to
questions posed in everyday, natural language, as well as by traditional keyword
searching. The current X.com still supports this, with support for math,
dictionary, and conversion questions.
In 2005 the company announced plans to phase out Y and on
February 27, 2006, the character disappeared from X.com. He was stated to be
"going into retirement." However, the UK/Ireland edition of the website
prominently brought the character back in 2009.

In the year 2003 in India, several telecommunications companies were competing for a
share of the rapidly growing mobile phone market. X wanted to convey the message that
its service was robust enough to provide coverage in every part of its coverage areas.
Mahesh V. and Rajeev Rao, Senior Creative Directors at the agency, spent a whole night
developing the idea.
Their first idea was a little sister following her brother. "On second thoughts, we
concluded that a dog would be much less mushy", adds Mahesh. That's when they hit
upon the theme, "Wherever you go, our network follows", and the idea for the
campaign: a dog that follows a boy in the most unlikely places – school, bath, barber
X got the nickname ‘Kojak’ because around the age of 27, he contracted a
severe form of alopecia – resulting in his distinctive bald look. When we
worked, he was very popular in Turkey, because whenever he was involved
– Turkey never lost. In 2004, he was awarded ‘Doctor of Science’ by Hull
University ‘for his outstanding contribution to the sport.’
Beset by technical delays, budget problems, and a certain disaster in 1986,
X was finally launched in 1990. However within weeks of its launch, X
was found to contain a catastrophic flaw, which was a challenge to fix due
to X’s location (it is now the only one of its kind to be serviced in its
X and the organization heading the project became the butt of many
jokes, and the project was popularly regarded as a white elephant. For
instance, in the 1991 comedy The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear, X was
pictured with Lusitania, the Hindenburg, and the Edsel.
Its scientific successor is scheduled for launch in 2019.

X is a run and gun indie video game developed and published by StudioMDHR.
As the title character X, along with his brother, Y, one or two players fight a
series of bosses in order to repay a debt to the devil.
The game was heavily inspired by the rubber hose style of animation used in
cartoons of the 1930s, such as the work of studios Fleischer and Walt Disney
Animation, seeking to emulate their subversive and surrealist qualities.
SKOAR!, an Indian magazine, website, and community dedicated to video
games called it, “The Dark Souls of 2D Platformers”.
X won the IGN Best Xbox One game at E3 award in 2015, and also won the
award for "Best Indie Game" at the Gamescom 2015 Awards. It was also
nominated as "Best Independent Game" at the E3 2016 Game Critics Awards.
The 2011 TIME Person of the Year was “The Protester”. “The
protester” had voiced dissent against authoritarian leaders, first in Tunisia,
and then in Egypt, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Bahrain, and voiced anger
over possibly rigged elections, in countries as diverse as Russiaand
the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the U.S., the Occupy Wall Street
protester began demonstrating first in New York, and then in
There was also an Indian component involved, the movement
was primarily one of non-violent civil resistance, featuring
demonstrations, marches, acts of civil disobedience, and rallies, as well as
the use of social media to organise, communicate, and raise awareness.
What was the protest about?
On February 6, 2018, American Rocket Company SpaceX launched a
rocket carrying a Tesla Roadster belonging to SpaceX founder Elon
Musk as a dummy payload.
The launch was partly successful, with both side boosters landed
successfully; although the center booster suffered two engine failures on
re-entry and struck the ocean, damaging two of the drone ship’s engines.

The piece is played as the title character Peer Gynt, in a dream-like
fantasy, enters "Dovregubbens hall". The scene's introduction
continues: “There is a great crowd of troll courtiers, gnomes and
goblins. Dovregubben sits on his throne, with crown and sceptre,
surrounded by his children and relatives. Peer Gynt stands before
him. There is a tremendous uproar in the hall." The lines sung are
the first lines in the scene.
The romanesca originated in Spain. and is composed of a sequence
of four chords with a simple, repeating bass, which provide the
groundwork for variations and improvisation. British
neurologist Oliver Sacks wrote in Musicophilia that the melody was
found to be one of the most common and problematic earworms.
From the 1970s to the early 2000s, elements of the piece, especially
its chord progression, were used in a variety of pop songs. Since the
1980s, it has also been used frequently in weddings and funeral
ceremonies in the Western world.

X was all too aware of the jokes made about all of her ex-boyfriends and
how she likes to include them in her songwriting. She told the director of the
music video of her song Y, that she wanted to address the general thought of
her in the clip in a fun way by playing a crazy villain.
The video was partly inspired by A Clockwork Orange. Kahn
explained, "There's a lot of symmetrical framing that's Kubrickian, which is a
really funny way to approach a pop video. But it's there if you look at the way
there's center-framing and symmetry throughout the whole thing,“
It is the thirteenth most viewed YouTube video of all time.
The music video also drew the ire of car enthusiasts, who were shocked that
she seemingly destroys a rare vintage vehicle in one scene.
But they can all pipe down, as it turns out the singer didn't really take
a golf club to a vintage Shelby AC Cobra. It was revealed it was staged, and
made to look real with the help of special effects.
X (born October 26, 1971) is an American actor and singer best
known for originating the role of Mark Cohen in the Broadway
production of Rent in 1996 and for reprising the role in the film
version and the Broadway Tour of Rent in 2009. He also played a role
in A Beautiful Mind (2001), and on the television series Star Trek:
Discovery (2017) and is the first openly LGBT crew member on any of
the five live-action Star Trek series.
It took Aleksandr Petrov and his son Dmitri Petrov (who helped his
father) two years to paint each of the 29,000+ frames. The film's
technique, pastel oil paintings on glass, is mastered by only a handful
of animators in the world. It is based on a novella that received the
Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1953.
Petrov used his fingertips in addition to various paintbrushes
to paint on different glass sheets positioned on multiple levels, each
covered with slow-drying oil paints.
It won the 2000 Academy Award for Animated Short Film,
among various others.

X had a catastrophic love life. He was attracted to women in trouble,
thinking he could help them. When he fell in love with his recently
widowed cousin, Kate, she was repulsed and fled to her home in
Amsterdam. X then moved to The Hague and fell in love with Clasina
Maria Hoornik, an alcoholic prostitute. She became his companion,
mistress and model.
Over the course of 10 years, X created more than 43 self-
portraits as both paintings and drawings. "I am looking for a deeper
likeness than that obtained by a photographer," he wrote to his sister.
"People say, and I am willing to believe it, that it is hard to know
yourself. But it is not easy to paint yourself, either. The portraits
painted by Y are more than a view of nature, they are more like a
revelation,” he later wrote to his brother.
X Tiwari was born on 23 July 1906 in Bhavra village, in the present-
day Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh. His forefathers were
from Badarka village near Kanpur (in present-day Unnao District).
In December 1921, when Mohandas K. Gandhi launched the Non-
Cooperation Movement, X, then a 15-year-old student, joined. As a
result, he was arrested. On being produced before a magistrate, he
gave his name as “Y", his father's name as "Swatantrata“ and his
residence as "Jail". From that day he came to be known as XY among
During more than two decades as Egypt’s last independent

X spoke as many as a dozen languages, and was educated
in Mathematics, Philosophy, Oratory and Astronomy. X formed
a drinking society known as the “Inimitable Livers” with the
Roman general Mark Antony.
Antony’s rival Octavian used propaganda to portray him
as a traitor, and in 32 BC, the Roman senate declared war on X.
In a famous Naval battle at Actium, X personally led an
Egyptian fleet alongside Antony’s, however proving no match
for Octavian’s Navy.
