Our travel teams have led dozens of trips to Haiti,Tanzania, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Honduras, India and Guatemala.
Our participants are immersed in a new culture in a very safe and encouraging environment. Each shoe
distribution includes meeting the locals, washing their feet, fitting them for new shoes and seeing the smiles

Why it’s important
1.2 billion people worldwide live in extreme poverty. Soles4Souls creates sustainable employment to address
this challenge, providing micro-entrepreneurs in the developing world with high-quality, low-cost shoes
and textiles. The demand is endless. Our ability to meet it, however, is not. U.S. landfills are overflowing with
product, but our current network of volunteers who collect it before it is discarded simply cannot keep up.
This is where we need you. This is your opportunity to continue to serve.
The model
Soles4Souls seeds and supports Veteran-owned and operated product collection operations all over the U.S.
These businesses help fill our supply gap by selling collected product to Soles4Souls, allowing us to continue
to expand our overseas poverty-alleviation efforts, further contribute to local environmental sustainability
and give back to those who have sacrificed for us.

Soles4Souls is a global social enterprise committed to fighting poverty
through the distribution of shoes and clothing.
Since 2006, we’ve helped in 127 countries. Soles4Souls has distributed over 22 million pairs
of shoes with over half of our distribution events taking place in the United States. These new
shoes, primarily donated by footwear manufacturers and retailers, help prevent debilitating
diseases, allow children to attend school, and offer hope and dignity to those in need around
the world.
Soles4Souls provides long-term solutions to fighting poverty. In places like Haiti, Honduras
and parts of Africa, many live in deep poverty, surviving on less than $1.25 per day. Soles4Souls
collects used shoes and clothing with the help of thousands of volunteers, then funnels these
to qualified micro-entrepreneurs in the developing world. By provisioning micro-businesses
with a steady supply of high-quality, low-cost product, Soles4Souls provides a powerful and
sustainable way for people to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
Soles4Souls contributes to environmental sustainability. Americans throw away more than
68 pounds of textiles per person per year. That adds up to 3.8 billion pounds of unnecessary
waste added to our landfills.The EPA estimates that only 15% is donated or recycled. Soles4Souls
diverts new and gently used shoes and clothing away from landfills and repurposes them, giving
them new life through our network of micro-entrepreneurs.
