Bayer’s deal to buy Monsanto has been approved by the Justice Department, after their landmark request that the drugmaker sell $9B of its assets. Federal antitrust regulators said the divestment would green-light Bayer’s planned $66B purchase of Monsanto.
 
China Tariffs
The U.S. will go ahead with 25% tariffs on $50B of Chinese imports — despite the announcement by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that new levies would be suspended while trade negotiations continued. A final list of Chinese goods to be hit with tariffs will be released on June 15.
 
‘Roseanne’
ABC is cancelling its sitcom “Roseanne” after the television show’s star, Roseanne Barr, made inflammatory tweets about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett. Disney CEO Bob Iger said on Twitter that cancelling the show “was the right thing.”
