Diversity in the Classroom
I personally believe that it is very important to acknowledge students’ diversity in
classroom settings. This is very important because no two students are the same, nor do they
learn in the same way. Everyone has their own niche in learning, and as a teacher, it is your
responsibility to find that, and use it to your own and your students advantage.
Knowing everything about your students is essential in being a teacher as well. If any of
your students have trouble understanding English, or just do not pick up on things as fast as
others, it is very important that you are aware of this so you can adapt your lessons and planning
to help them!
Every student in their classroom will have their own background that can make it
challenging for them to learn in the way you planned it, so you have to be the one that takes the
initiative and finds out how to set the perfect lessons for all of your students.
The sheer amount of different things that can affect the learning ability of your students is
astounding, and it is your job to make sure that every student feels comfortable with what you
are teaching to them, and that they have a complete understanding as well. I personally believe
that even if you left one student behind, and all of your other students understood the material,
then you still failed.
To wrap it up, all classes that you teach will be incredibly diverse no matter where you
are teaching, and as a teacher you must help out all your students to the very best of your
abilities!
