You must know what chemistry is. It is one of the most important subjects of science,
without whose knowledge a lot of work cannot be done in this world. Apart from this, we
will also know in the article how this word originated?
When we go to the doctor, we are given injections, medicines are given which are made by
chemicals only. Medicines are made only because of the knowledge of chemistry.
Although every subject has its own importance in science, but only because of the
knowledge of chemistry, humans can recognize the activities happening in their body and
can also control it. But they do not control themselves, but when there is some fluctuation
in it, the doctors operate our body.
What is the specialty of this subject, then it is necessary to take knowledge about it and
this is what I thought today to tell what is chemistry. By reading this post, you will know
what is chemistry and what is its importance for our life.
2/7
What is Chemistry
Chemistry is the branch of science that deals with matter, its properties, when substances
combine with each other, how they combine and then separate to form other substances,
how substances interact with energy, these Study about all things.
Many people think of chemical scientists as white coated scientists by mixing strange
substances in a laboratory but the truth is that we are all chemistry.
Understanding the concepts of basic chemistry is a must for almost every profession.
Chemistry is a part of everything in our lives. Everything in the world is made of matter.
Even our own bodies are made of matter.
Chemistry is involved in everything we eat and cook, from cleaning our homes and bodies
to launching spacecraft. Chemistry is one of the physical sciences which helps us to
describe and explain our world.
Origin of the Word Chemistry
If we see the origin of the word chemistry, it is derived from the old name of Egypt,
alchemy. The meaning of this word is – black color. You must also know that Antoine
Lavoisier is called the father of chemistry.
Branches of chemistry
There are five major branches of chemistry, each with several areas of study.
Analytical Chemistry
This chemistry uses qualitative and quantitative observations to identify and measure the
physical and chemical properties of substances. In a way, all chemistry is analytical.
3/7
Physical chemistry
Physical chemists study how matter and energy work together. Thermal mixers Quantum
mechanics are two important branches of physical chemistry.
What is Organic Chemistry
Organic chemistry specifically studies compounds that contain carbon elements.
Carbon has many unique qualities that allow it to be a complex chemical. It is known as
the science of organic chemistry because it is present in all the substances that make up
living tissue.
Inorganic Chemistry
Inorganic chemistry studies substances and gases that do not contain carbon.
Biochemistry
Biochemistry is the study of chemical processes that take place within living organisms.
It is also necessary to study those categories which come under Chemistry.
Within these big categories, there are many small and many categories. Many of which
have a significant impact on our daily lives. Chemists improve many products.
From the food we eat and the clothes that we make in our home. Chemistry helps to
protect our environment and also discovers new sources of energy.
Food Chemistry
Food science deals with the three components of food – carbohydrates, lipids and
proteins. Carbohydrates are sugar and starch. Chemical fuels are essential for our cells to
function.
Lipids are fats and oils and are essential components of cell membranes and lubricate and
cushion the organs within the body.
Because fat contains 2.2 times more energy per gram of carbohydrate than protein. Many
people try to limit their intake to avoid being overweight.
Proteins are complex molecules made up of 100 – 500 or more amino acids that are
chained together. and are transformed into 3 dimensions necessary for the structure and
function of each cell.
Our bodies can synthesize some amino acids, although eight of those essential amino
acids must be taken as part of our diet. Food scientists also study these organic
components of food items such as its water content, minerals, vitamins and enzymes.
4/7
Food specialists can work for the private industry to develop new products or make some
improvements in it.
They may also work for government agencies such as the Suits and Medicines
Administration to inspect food producers and handlers to protect us from contamination
or harmful particles.
Food specialists inspect products to supply information to be used for nutrition labels or
to determine how packaging and storage affect the safety and quality of food.
Flavorists work with chemicals to change the taste of food. Chemists also work on other
ways to improve sensory appeal, such as enhancing colour, aroma and texture.
Environmental Chemistry
Environmental chemistry is a science that includes the understanding of analytical
chemical science and environmental science.
The environmental scientist must first understand the chemical and chemical reactions
present in the natural process of soil, water and air.
Sampling and analysis can then determine whether balanced activity has contaminated
the environment or caused harmful reactions to affect it.
Water quality is a very important area of environmental chemical science. Pure drinking
water does not exist in nature. There is always some mineral or other material mixed in it.
Water quality chemists test the waters of rivers, lakes, and oceans for factors such as
dissolved oxygen, salinity, turbidity, suspended sediment, and pH.
The drinking water used by humans should be absolutely pure. It should not contain any
kind of pollution and it should be absolutely free from impurities. It can be treated with
additives like fluoride and chlorine to increase the safety of water.
Agricultural Chemistry
Agricultural chemistry deals with the substances and chemical reactions involved in the
production, preservation and use of crops and livestock. It is a high level field that
depends on the relationship of many other sciences.
Can work for Agricultural Science Department, Environmental Protection Agency, Food
and Medicine Administration, Private Industry. Agricultural scientists develop the
fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides needed for large-scale crop production.
They also have to see how these products are used and their impact on the environment.
Nutritional supplements are developed to increase meat and dairy industry productivity.
5/7
Agricultural biotechnology has become a rapidly growing focus area for many agricultural
scientists. Genetically manipulating crops that are resistant to the herbicides used to
control weeds require a society distributed to both plants and chemicals at the molecular
level.
Biochemists should have an understanding of genetics, chemistry and business in such a
way that crops are easy to grow and transport which have longer life.
Chemical Engineering
Engineers research and develop materials or processes that do not involve chemical
reactions.
Chemical Engineer combines a page in Chemical Science with BHIM with the concepts of
engineering and economics to solve technical problems.
Engineering jobs fall into two main groups, industrial applications and new product
development.
Industries need chemical engineers to devise new methods to make the production of
their products easier and more cost-effective.
Designing, operating safety procedures, product monitoring, quality monitoring have to
be done in Chemical Engineer Score Processing Plant.
Chemical engineers work to develop new products and processes in every area from
pharma cuticles to fuels.
Geochemistry
Geochemists combine chemistry and geology to study the interactions between
substances found on Earth. Geologists may have to spend more time studying the area
than other types of chemical scientists.
US Geologists survey here for the Environmental Protection Agency to determine how
mining and waste damage water quality and the environment.
He can travel long distances to mines to collect samples and evaluate a rough area and
evaluate that water by following a stream through which system, how getting
contaminated.
Petroleum geologists are hired by oil and gas companies to help them discover new energy
reserves.
He also works on pipelines and oil leakages to prevent chemical reactions that could lead
to explosions or spillovers.
Forensic Chemistry
6/7
Forensic chemists capture and analyze physical evidence left behind at a crime scene. In
which the people involved are identified and it is ascertained how and why this crime was
committed.
You must have seen the Discovery Channel’s Investigation Show, in which the crimes
committed in the 1980s are investigated and then justice is done by punishing the guilty.
Technology was not so advanced in the 1980s and it was very difficult to ascertain from
the evidence available. But today forensic science has developed so much that even if a
small amount of evidence and still crime is detected.
The main reason for this is that today forensic chemists work on it. Forensic scientists use
a variety of analysis methods such as chromatography, spectrometry, and spectroscopy.
Importance of Chemistry
Chemistry is a subject that not everyone likes. There are only a few people who are
passionate about it and study diligently.
They later become chemists. We find boring, it does not mean that it is a boring subject.
Its importance can be ascertained from the fact that the food we eat gives us strength, but
what happens in the middle of it and how does food give us strength, when our health is
bad, then how can we take medicine by taking medicine. The body recovers immediately.
When any part of our body gets injured, how is it cured with medicines?
So there are so many things that chemistry tells us about how important it is. That’s why a
boring subject can be for studies but it is very important for life.
So let us know what is the importance of chemistry and how it makes our life easier by
being involved in many aspects of our life and eliminating the problems of our life.
Cooking:
Chemistry tells us how food changes when it is cooked, how it moves, how food is
preserved, how your body uses the food you eat, and the seasonings you add to food when
it is cooked. How do I meet and change the taste of food?
Cleaning:
Part of the importance of chemistry is how cleaning works. Use science to help decide
what’s best for food dishes, laundry.
When you use bleach and disinfectant, even water, you use chemistry. That’s the
chemistry of how it works.
Medicine:
7/7
You need to understand basic chemistry so that you can understand how vitamins,
supplements, and medicines can help or harm you. Part of the importance of chemistry
lies in the development and research of new medical treatments and drugs.
Environmental Issues:
Chemistry is the heart of environmental issues. Can a chemical combine with one of the
nutrients to form a chemical pollutant? How do you clean up the environment? What
things can you use without harming the environment.
We are all chemists because we use chemicals everyday. We do not even know and we do
many types of chemical reactions every day. Chemistry is very important because
everything we do is chemistry.
In Short
We are associated with chemistry all the time because our body is full of chemicals and
many types of processes go on inside such as digestion of our food, our thinking, feeling
thirsty, feeling hungry, all these are due to chemicals. .
But we do not even suspect that we are using it all the time. We just talked about the
importance of chemistry here.
Frequently Asked Question
What is the importance of chemistry?
Chemistry is of great importance in our daily life. We use items made by chemicals.
Revolutionary progress is being made in agriculture only because of chemicals. Many
types of fertilizers etc., which increase the fertility of the fields and many insecticides have
been made to destroy the germs that destroy crops.
Who discovered chemistry and when?
Chemistry is believed to have become an established science with the work of Antoine
Lavoisier, who developed the law of conservation of mass that demanded careful
