  2. 2.  There are globally agreed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of UN's 2030 Agenda to transform the world  The goals are as follows  GOAL 1: No Poverty; GOAL 2: Zero Hunger; GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-being; GOAL 4: Quality Education; GOAL 5: Gender Equality; GOAL 6: Clean Water and Sanitation; GOAL 7: Affordable and Clean Energy; GOAL 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; GOAL 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; GOAL 10: Reduced Inequality; GOAL 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; GOAL 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; GOAL 13: Climate Action; GOAL 14: Life Below Water; GOAL 15: Life on Land; GOAL 16: Peace and Justice Strong Institutions; GOAL 17 : Partnerships to achieve the Goal
  3. 3.  Besides the emergent issues, the main ones are Accessibility; Data and Statistics (including research); Inequality; Mental Health and Development; Poverty; Natural Disasters; Urban Development; Women and Girls, etc.  However, research needs needs to seen as a cross-cutting activity to chart the progress across the 17 SDGs
  4. 4.  On the basis of an FGD in an NGO, as an abstractin the form of 5As were elicited as essentials for research in institutions and organization as systematic and focussed activity
  5. 5.  A-1: Applied scientific research with centrality of sustainability to be viewed as a relevant dimension in the effective achievement of the United Nation's SDGs Agenda by 2030
  6. 6.  A-2: Analysis of on-going research scientometrically to map the progress of relevant research towards SDGs for course correction be encouraged
  7. 7.  A-3: Appreciative studies on contribution of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research towards sustainability science as knowledge area
  8. 8.  A-4: Approaches to research that are collaborative and team-project based be considered, discussed and carried out to make them robust
  9. 9.  A-5: Accelerating support the research transition for sustainability by creating in-house units and forums for exchange, dissemination, discussion, orientation on sustainability researches and learning
