Evaluation question 3

2.  Looking at the results to this
question I think that the trailer was
a success with the feedback I have
received, the trailer being rated 8
out of 10 on averages is a good
number. This shows me that in
general the trailer was very good
however there could have been a
few adjustments which could have
been made to make it the best
trailer.

3.  All of the people who watched my
filmed enjoyed the trailer which is
the best news I could receive. This
shows me that the audience was
engaged in the trailer.

4.  The results from this have shown me that in
general I used enough different camera
shots to keep the majority of the audience
interested the whole way through the
trailer. This shows me that I should always
aim to use at least this many shots when
creating a trailer for 4 minutes. The camera
shots clearly played a big part in keeping the
audience intrigued in the film as the
majority of them was happy with the
changes. I have learnt that it is important to
keep changing the scenes and camera shots
in a trailer to ensure you can’t keep the
audience intrigued in the trailer.

5.  The results show that most of the people
who watched the trailer thought the music
was effective. I think that the this shows
me the music was definitely worked well in
the trailer to create tension between
different scenes and show key moments.
The results also show me that music in a
trailer works well in advertising the film
even though it might not particularly be in
the movie.

6.  The results to this question show me
that all the audience thought that the
fonts was effective. This must mean
that the font I used helped to create a
scary image on the film. the font was
important in ensuring I could keep the
audience intrigued in the trailer. This
also shows me the fonts helped me to
keep the tension up in the trailer as the
audience was not disappointed.

7.  The results from this question shows
me that the poster was effective in
ensuring the audience was aware the
movie was a horror film. This shows me
that the poster was useful in giving an
idea about the film to the audience
without actually seeing any of the
trailer or movie. It also shows me how
important the image of the poster is
when representing a film.

8.  The results show that more than half of the audience
did not think the trailer was similar to other horror
trailers. This is beneficial as we have created a unique
film using our own ideas and the audience still liked it.
This shows that my idea was a good idea for a horror
movie. However it could also mean the trailer was
missing a lot of different aspects which could have
helped it relate to more popular and successful horror
movies. Also nearly a third of the audience thought it
did remind them of other horrors which could be
beneficial as they might think our film is good due to
their experience when watching the other horror
movies. On the other hand they audience might think
that we copied ideas from other films and the trailer
could start to become predicable which would then
loose the attention span of the audience. The results
however from this question I think has had a positive
effect on our film as it shows that people in general
didn’t think our film was like other but by looking at
other results they still enjoyed the trailer.

9.  The results from this question is a
positive. Nearly everyone who watched
the trailer said they would like to watch
the film after viewing our promotion
package. This is positive as the package
is created to influence people to watch
the movie. This shows me that I
included enough information about the
film to influence people to want to
watch our film.
