therein. On October 17, 1990, Needham developed and posted a
collection of Unix shell scripts which could be used to search the lists,
and thus the database that would be incorporated in UK in 1996 as Z

videotapes.

In December 2014, he bought a certain something (X) at an auction,
which actually belonged to Y for £3 million. X had been with Y since
1962, and as a gesture of respect for Y, and describing Y’s condition
as “unacceptable”, Usmanov decided to return X to Y after the auction.
Y, now 86 years old, said that he would donate part of the proceeds to
charities and to support scientific research.

James Watson (Y) put his Nobel Prize for Biology gold medal (X) up
for auction, which was awarded to him along with Francis Crick and
Maurice Wilkins in 1962 for proposing the double-helix structure and
function of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).

One version of the story about the inception of X goes like this.
The idea for X was conceived at the Major's Cabin Grill restaurant in New York
City in 1949, when co-founder Frank McNamara was dining with clients and
realized he had left his wallet in another suit. His wife paid the tab, and
McNamara thought of a multi purpose charge card as a way to avoid similar
embarrassments in the future. He discussed the idea with the restaurant owner
at the table, and the following day with his lawyer Ralph Schneider and friend
Alfred Bloomingdale.
McNamara returned to the same restaurant the following February and paid for
his meal using a cardboard charge card and a signature, and the concept of a
credit card was born.
X was founded in 1950 first independent credit card company in the world and
established the concept of a self-sufficient company producing credit cards for
travel and entertainment.

the Lal Bagh Road in Bangalore and Gandhinagar area as well and

Founded in 1924 as a restaurant, the business currently comprises 2
separate entities - X Restaurant and X Foods. X Foods was sold to
Orkla, a Norwegian company in 2007 for $80 million. It is said that once
a Chief Minister of Karnataka stood in a queue to have masala dosa at
X restaurant.
X claims to be the inventor of the popular South-Indian breakfast item,
Rava Idli. According to X, during World War II, when rice, which is the
staple item used in idli was in short supply, they experimented in
making idli using semolina and created Rava Idli.

the search for the perpetrators.
Independently, thousands of users of reddit took it upon themselves to
sift through the evidence and try to find the suspects.
Things quickly got out of hand when real life journalists and
newspapers started taking the crowdsourced investigation seriously
and printed pictures of those the Internet thought were suspects.
One of the standout “accused” was Brown University student Sunil
Tripathi who had been missing for a month prior to X. This led to
massive witch hunt of Tripathi’s family by anonymous people on social
media. Tripathi was later found to have committed suicide and had no
connection to X whatsoever.

criticism in the recent years. Despite this, statistics reveal that X still

In an article titled “Why X, not Apple, is changing the smartphone
industry”, X’s CEO said that the company prices the phone almost at bill-

performance compared to other premium smartphones. To profit from the
