  1. 1. Kirsten Cullen Sharma. My boutique private practice began after more than a decade of working with a strong team of clinicians at NYU Langue Medical Center, Child Study Center. This clinic specializes in evaluating, treating, and collaborating with schools for children, teens, and young adults. A significant portion of my expertise is in early childhood development, learning, behavior, anxiety, executive functioning, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. In addition to being a neuropsychologist, I am also a child psychologist. The fact that I provide both therapy and assessment for children, teens and teens makes me extremely proud. With expertise in both assessment and evidence-based treatment, I am able to better understand the "whole child," the underlying causes of challenges, and what interventions are most effective. I have gained valuable insight over the last decade by working with hundreds of families and learning about brain development, learning, self-esteem, and thinking patterns. In my job, one of my favorite things is working with evidence to put pieces together to understand a child's strengths, potential, and social and emotional well-being. I am committed to ensuring that children, teens, and teens thrive through effective collaboration between parents and schools. As part of my role as a therapist, I receive deep satisfaction and fulfillment from helping children and families reach milestones. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps improve happiness, confidence, and relationships for children and families by providing them with strategies, skills, understandings, and tools. As a result of my ability to customize treatment for each family, I am able to bring about meaningful change for them. My experience as a mom has taught me how imperative it is to understand your child and their challenges. You must also be empowered with strategies that will foster growth, mastery, and confidence. As a professional, I try to put myself in the shoes of the parents with whom I work. This is how I can provide them with the highest quality and compassion possible. The media community often asks me for advice on effective parenting practices, child development, executive functioning, and screen time management.
