People in the TV Production
Producers entrepreneurs that make the business and financial decisions for a television production. decide the finances and coordination of a production project decide the size and cost of their television endeavors and ensure a television production stays within budget and on schedule
Producers negotiate contracts and guarantee salaries and other expenses plan and coordinate various aspects, such as selecting a script, approving directors and selecting principal cast members organize the activities of personnel throughout the production process heavily involved with the post-production process and may work closely with editing
Producers work under constant pressure experience stress from sticking with budgets, adhering to union work rules and dealing with production schedules work long and irregular hours, sometimes late at night or early in the morning
Executive Producer highest authority in the direct production of the show often oversees the entire production in multiple capacities
Executive Producer makes sure the production stays within budget handles personnel decisions, especially with the director and crew looks over/approves scripts that are written before production
Associate Producer performs limited producing functions under the authority of a Producer often in charge of the day-to-day running of a production usually the Producer's head assistant
Supervising Producer supervises one or more producers in some or all aspects of their work usually works under the authority of an Executive Producer oversees one or more producers in the performance of some or all of their functions, on single or multiple projects
Line Producer specialist who combines his/her knowledge of finances with knowledge of the film industry or TV production  creates a budget that maximizes the quality of the film or TV production while minimizing costs gets the most out of the budget by carefully negotiating down prices of various products and services
Line Producer must have a lot of relevant business contacts  must be able to communicate well with the director and actors to determine what their expectations are so that the film or TV production can be better budgeted
Segment Producer creates specific pieces or segments of TV shows works with editors or is required to edit own footage works under tight deadlines needs to be able to gather all the right elements for each segment.
Segment Producer must be assertive and organized so that the needed equipment is always available and the crew and the people who appear in the segment know what is going on must be familiar with basic media production skills must be great at communicating with people
Production Manager sometimes called “Unit Production Managers” ensures that the film or television productions meet production schedule guidelines and do not go over budget deals with business management, finance, and technical and human resource issues needs strong communication, business management and administrative skills to perform his duties
Production Manager creates shooting schedules, estimate s costs and examines scripts or production ideas generated by producers and senior production staff hires crew members and independent contractors oversees assistant production managers, assistant directors and production coordinators reports a project's progress to producers and line producers
Director calls the shots  in the live broadcast takes the producer’s and writer’s ideas and brings them to life

Location Manager determines all logistics on both equipment and film crew finds out the property owner's fees and get approval from the producer learns all required permits and sends notifications to all residents in the vicinity
Production Designer responsible for the visual appearance of a production designs, plans, organizes, and arranges set design, equipment availability, as well as the on screen appearance a production will have
Video Editor puts the show together by assembling video, audio, graphics and titles using an editing computer or a videotape editing system
Video Editor digitizes and arranges video footage in a way that ensures flow and continuity adds effects and music and corrects any visual, flow or color problems present in the video footage
TV Camera Operator operates big studio cameras for news, talk shows and soap operas head member of the camera crew
TV Camera Operator uses the camera as coached by the Director maintains  that the required action is correctly filmed in the frame, and needs to react instinctively as the proceedings take place
Sound Engineer also called ‘sound operator’ who works in the studio and on location a technical media professional who operates recording and amplification machines and equipment
Sound Engineer skilled in the placement of microphones and operation of multi-track sound-mixing boards, audio equalization, and acoustics
Boom Operator an assistant of the Sound Engineer or "production sound mixer“ main responsibility is microphone placement
Boom Operator places wireless microphones on actors when it is necessary manages to keep the microphone boom, near to the action, but away from the camera frame, so that it never appears onscreen allows precise control of the microphone at a much greater distance away from the actors
Production Assistant usually an entry-level position commonly referred to as “P.A.” assumes a ‘prompting’ role (counting down the time during the production for segments, interview, or commercial break) practically does simple routine tasks and clerical work, errands, and manual labor
Researcher an entry-level in the broadcast industry finds information and ideas for television and radio conducts research for programs and analyzes the show’s audiences pays very close attention to details and makes sure all facts are correct requires persistence and creative thinking
Floor Director the point of contact in a television production between the control room and the floor relays messages back and forth must work well with everyone, from the sound technician to the on-screen talent
Floor Director needs to make sure the set and all props that may be needed are in place prior to the taping of a program  makes sure all technologies to be used have been checked and are ready to go prior to taping pays attention to any off-camera action during the program’s taping or live production
Floor Director holds a superior position on the floor with a thorough understanding of the roles of a camera man, sound man, lighting technician and other roles must be able to relate to and handle any issues that may arise relaying any information from the control room to the floor
Head writer supervises a team of staff writers working on scripts for a television show position is a steady one as long as the show remains on the air
Scriptwriter writes scripts  must be able to write on demand produces content for radio, television broadcast, movies, theater and other types of performance conducts research on different topics in various ways (personal observation, library and Internet research, and interviews)
Scriptwriter / Writer creates and moulds an original story adapts other written, told, or acted stories for production of a television show
Publicity / Publicist raises public awareness of a production  seeks to ultimately increase viewers through promotion  stimulates demand for a product through advertising and promotion
Make-up Artist usually a cosmetology beautician applies makeup to anyone appearing on screen, concentrating on the area above the chest, the face, the top of the head, the fingers, hands, arms, and elbows. manipulates an actor 's on screen appearance whether it makes them look more youthful, larger, older, or in some cases monstrous.
Gaffer head Electrician at the production set in charge of lighting the stage in accordance with the direction of the Cinematographer or Production Designer
Key Grip head grip of the production set creates shadow effects with lights and occasionally maneuvers camera cranes, dollies and platforms while receiving direction from the Cinematographer or Director of Photography (DOP)
