Strength based questioning: What are your interests and passions? 2. ‘Why do you want to do this apprenticeship?’ Talk about what you would bring to the role, not about the opportunity. 3. Rate a piece of content. Say why you liked it; would you improve it? 4. Make your own content. 5. Talk about skills, teamwork. Example Questions What would you create if given £100,000? What are you passionate about? Give a time that you achieved something you thought you could not Why do you feel this opportunity is important to you? How will it help you in the future? Have you been involved with creating content, what skills have you gained? Do you have any prior experience? What is your favourite place? How would your family and friends describe you? Questions from previous interviews BBC Mock Interview Can you tell me why you want to apply for this apprenticeship with the BBC? What gets you out of bed in the morning, what motivates you? Can you pick a piece of BBC Content on any platform, and tell us what you think is good about it, and what would you change? Can you tell me about a time you worked well in a team, and how you affected the outcome? Programme making at the BBC requires a lot of organisational skills from the whole team. Can you tell us how you like to organise yourself, and what tools do you use? Can you give us an example of when you have shown some creative thinking? Skills based apprenticeship What skills do you have to apply to the job?
  2. 2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? What is your biggest achievement? What is the hardest thing you have had to deal with? Job interview What are your hobbies and interests? What does respect mean to you? How would you show respect in the workplace? Why choose (workplace)? How would you greet a customer? What is more important, fast or friendly service? Who inspires you? How would your teachers/friends/family describe you? What is a difficult task you have encountered and how have you overcome it? Is it important to be happy at work? Tell me about yourself. KEY: Green: Most likely to be asked. Blue: Less likely to be asked. Red: What is this question, never heard of it. Tips to interviews Look confident, even if you aren’t. Wear smart clothes (Shirt and trousers, smart jumper) Speak clearly If they offer you water TAKE IT- it helps Try and be as professional as you can
