7. SEWAGE WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
• Work on the 31 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in Greater Hyderabad
• As per the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), the State government would contribute
Rs 1,546.49 crore (40 percent) of the cost while the remaining amount would be
mobilised by the contracting agencies who would also be responsible for
maintaining the STPs for 15 years.

8. ACCOUNTING OF WATER IN TRANSMISSION AND
DISTRIBUTION
• SCADA system meant to measure quantity of water lifted, supplied and water
losses along the network is installed at the all water supply stations.
• The exact quantity of water lifted from all sources for supply of water to its area
could not be measured accurately due to lack of staff.
• Water tarrif has not been revised since 2013.

13. CONCLUSIONS
• The Board has implemented the automation which increases the revenue of the
board and it also improves the system as well.
• The board also plans for the future update of the outdated and extension of new
pipeline systems to the remote areas which will ultimately increase revenue
• Losses are increasing due to no proper metering and collection
• Telangana government announced free water supply which will cause more
burden on the board as revenue will decrease and O&M charges will be same.
