Hans Christian Andersen was born in Odense, Denmark
on April 2, 1805. Andersen is a Danish writer and poet
known all around the world for his stories which have
been translated into more than 5 languages. In 1873,
Hans Christian Andersen fell from his bed and broke
several bones. From then on his health worsened
greatly. He died on August 4, 1875.
