• Dolphins Can leap 30 feet
in the air
• Between 20 seconds to
30 minutes they need to
come up for air
• Dolphins leap when
traveling they use less
energy jumping than
swimming

What Dolphins Eat
• They have 100 teeth but
don use them unless
they’re catching their pray
• They eat fish like
mackerel, herring and
cod, while others eat
squid
• Some fish have a lot of
fat which gives dolphins
the energy they need.

Offspring
• Dolphins can give birth
about every two years
• They carry one baby at a
time
• Baby dolphins can be
born tail or head first
• If they happen to have
twins the stronger of the
two will be the only one to
survive

• Dolphins usually live with
a pod
• Dolphins work as a team
in their pod to get the
school of fish surrounded
• They can plow through
the middle and eat plenty
