  1. 12th Annual Regional Entrepreneur Conference Takes Place Sep. 4, 2013 - Morehead State University’s Center for Regional Engagement, Morehead Small Business Development Center and the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Commerce presented its 12th Annual Regional Entrepreneur Conference last Thursday at the Morehead Conference Center. The one-day event lasted from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and was focused for the small business owner and entrepreneur providing professional development and encouraging economic growth in the area. This year’s event was “Small Town Opportunities,” and featured the keynote presenter Marc Wilson providing a speech, as well as exhibitor booths, workshops, and training opportunities for those interested in tips for improving their business. A free lunch was also offered for those in attendance. Wilson, who acts as a national retail consultant, has helped more than 1,000 retailers, restaurants and tourism-related small businesses in more than 300 towns. To help keep small retailers relevant during this turbulent economic time, he presents new ideas on how to help bring focus to why their offering in particular is unique, who its customers are and how to better reach and connect with them. The Morehead SBDC is a part of the Kentucky Small Business Development Center (KSBDC), a network of 15 offices located all throughout the state that help existing and startup businesses find success by offering high quality, in-depth and hands-on services. As Kentucky Governor Beshear stated "Small and young companies are vital to our economic health, not just in Kentucky, but across the United States. By helping

The KSBDC is a partner program with the U.S. Small Business Development Administration SBA.
