Business need
When AmPro Mortgage Corporation
purchased a national wholesale mortgage
lending operation, their challenge was
to get a clear understanding of the
operation, analyze the business strengths
and limitations, and closely monitor the
execution of new policies and strategies.
One of the key problems faced by the
management team was the proliferation
of business unit reporting databases and
tools. Business units relied on different
data sources, data definitions, business
measurements and terms; and varying skills
in Microsoft Excel and Access to produce
their management reports. As a result, the
timeliness, accuracy and consistency of
critical data were at risk. AmPro needed
relevant and integrated information
delivered consistently and accurately,
in the format and frequency required by
management to make informed decisions
timely.
Intelli-Mortgage is the solution
CIO John Scattergood decided the company
needed a Business Intelligence (BI)
platform. Having implemented a BI system
in an earlier company, he recognized the
significant effort, cost and risk involved in
such a project, including the typical 6 to 12
month project timeline. Intelli-Mortgage
