2. Rotary Balmoral partnership raises $40,000 for the
Connecting with Cambodia Project, resulting over
850 children having a better life
Thank you for your support of the
Connecting with Cambodia Project
CWC has been operating for over four
years and your contributions have
been used to provide critical surgical
and non-surgical treatments to
children living in provincial areas in
Cambodia born with congenital or
acquired physical deformities such as
club foot, cleft lip/palate and burn
contractures, giving them a chance at
a normal life.
The program is led by Professor Vuthy
Chhoeurn, Head of Surgery at the
National Paediatric Hospital in Phnom
Penh and enables local surgeons and
health professionals to receive the
training and the support they need to
help the children of Cambodia.
What this support has achieved
3. New NGO makes big steps in
treating children
97%
of all contributions
go directly to fund
project activities in
Cambodia.
In 2015 we established a locally-registered NGO called
NextSteps which will encompass the Connecting with
Cambodia activities as well as provide a legal structure for
us to expand our activities and partners. The first area of
focus was the provision of non-surgical treatment for club
foot in ten provincial hospitals across the country
Our surgical missions will continue with the 2016 surgical
mission planned for June 9 to 12 at Oddar Mean Chey
Province in the remote north west of Cambodia.
Should you wish to continue to help improve the lives of
Cambodian children donations may be made through
Rotary via their project link now called Next Steps in
Cambodia or via the Donate page in the NextSteps
website. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible in
Australia.
