Letter of recommendation for Johan Fredriksson
Johan Fredriksson (880630-3957) has a degree in Master of Science in Engineering
at the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) at Lund university. His educational program
was Nanoscience with a specialization in Technology Management.
At the faculty we have almost 9000 students with more than 1400 students starting
the studies each year. The education is highly demanding and requires a significant
effort. However, some students are also able to contribute to the development of
new activities at the faculty. Johan Fredriksson is such an outstanding student and
he has contributed in a remarkable way.
The very start of the education is extremely important for the students to be
successful in their studies. We have spent large efforts in improving this
introduction. In 2014 Johan initiated a new approach and he worked as a project
leader for an excellent introductory project: "Problem Solving for Engineers - with
the Soft Variables". It resulted in a new and highly appreciated way of introducing
freshmen to the Faculty of Engineering. The project comprised of an educational
and event-based full day about leadership and team work for over 1000 new
engineering students.
Johan´s broad understanding of the different elements required to make the
students think about their role in the education and their role in society was
impressing. The introduction was highly appreciated by all the students as well as
by the faculty. We hope to be able to continue this introduction for all the freshmen
in the coming years.
Johan has a very positive attitude which makes it easy for him to gain support for
his views and ideas.
I certainly will support him with my best recommendations and wish him and his
future colleagues good luck.
