● Use the profile builder tool
● Select the basic, free profile
● Use the summary section to give an overview of what
your degree and skills.
● In the summary, focus on what type of position you are
looking for – be flexible.
● For your specialties, list only those technologies you
consider yourself well versed in.
● List your positions and briefly explain your
responsibilities; provide examples of achievements

no need to include retail or restaurant work

21. Privacy Settings
● You can adjust your privacy settings by clicking on “setting”
in the top right hand corner, under your name.
● You can hide your connections from view by other users.
● You can select the types of messages or invitations you are
willing to receive.
● You can choose a setting which will not let users know if
you have viewed their profile. The down side to this is that
you can’t see who viewed your profile.
● You can manage your preferences for advertising.
