Introduction  Geometric construction is an important topic in engineering drawing  it explain methods to draw various objects using only basic drawing instruments such as pencils, compasses and rulers.  traditional drawing and CAD drawing technique are based on the construction of basic geometric elements
3. 3.  A point, line, arc and circle are basic elements use to create the most complex drawings.  The drafting student must understand basic geometric construction technique in order to draw on paper or with CAD, or to apply these geometric techniques to solve problems
4. 4.  In order to produce good and satisfactory drawings, the following aspect should be considered: 1) Understand and competent using various drawing methods 2) Neatness in drawing lines and joining lines 3) Neatness and accuracy of drawing instruments 4) Accuracy of dimensions 5) Fast
5. 5.  Students should be able to draw the following:  various types of lines  identify and draw any size angle  identify and draw various types of triangle and parallelograms  identify and draw regular triangle, square, hexagon, and octagon
6. 6.  divide a space into equal parts; divide an angle in half, divide line into equal parts  draw lines and arc tangent to each other  identify and draw several conic sections  draw correct dimension lines
