Jessica Lee Drum is a PhD candidate in Community Psychology at Wichita State University. She has extensive experience in program development, evaluation, prevention research, and teaching. Her research focuses on relationships, social networks, computer-mediated communication, and health factors. She is currently the primary investigator on a project examining how social media undermines romantic commitment and a co-investigator on a project assessing campus sexual assault perceptions. behaviors enacted through social media undermine commitment in romantic
relationships. Specifically, the project seeks to determine if such behaviors fit into
categories of anti-relationship behavior previously developed to explain face-to-face

Project Description: This project aimed to understand the extent to which a
computer intervention would impact social health factors of independent living
residents of two continuous care communities through the use of a private social
media software, KeepInTouch. KeepInTouch was designed to be easy to use for older
adults living at Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. Social Factors assessed
included size of social networks, social isolation, loneliness, and quality of life. My
role as a co-investigator included survey development and interviewing
participants.
Subsidized Senior Housing: A study of Social Convoys and Computer Use

residents of subsidized senior housing, including the extent they felt socially
isolated or lonely. In addition, computer use of these residents was investigated.

carried out.
