Bullying is a learned behavior where one person purposefully tries to control or harm another through verbal abuse, exclusion, or violence. It affects an estimated 1.6 million students in the US each week and can lead victims to cut class or experience depression, low self-esteem, and even suicide. While bullying distracts from class and upsets victims, addressing bullies can deter future incidents and encouraging students to support each other can help stamp out bullying.
