How to use the database ScienceDirect

1. How to look for journal articles
using
SCIENCEDIRECT

2. Go to: http://www.lib.uct.ac.za

3. Hover your mouse over ‘Search & Find’

4. Choose ‘Databases (A-Z)’

5. Click on ‘S’ to find ScienceDirect

6. Scroll down the page until you find ‘ScienceDirect’
Click on the link

7. Click on ‘Advanced Search’

8. Click on the
‘Journals’ tab

9. Type search term(s) in
the search boxes.

10. Tick the boxes that limit the
search to include only journal
articles.
You can limit your search by
date.
E.g. find articles published
between 2004 to present

11. Click the ‘Search’ button

12. Results of search
Click PDF to download the
full text of the article
