Jeff Landsman, founder and partner of Specialty Food Sales, has been in the food
business for over 35 years. He has experience in both foodservice and retail sales
channels. As a broker, manufacturer and distributor, Jeff has always excelled as an
innovator in the industry. With 30 years in the Mid-Atlantic market and a stellar
reputation, Jeff is here to guide your success.
Peter Benario has been in the industry for over 38 years primarily as a broker and
manufacturer. Gourmet Away, a New York Metro brokerage that Peter started in 2005
merged with Specialty Food Sales earlier this year. Peter operates the NY Metro sales
office for us.
We can properly represent your company to the trade. It is our business to understand
your product line and formulate an effective sales plan for our market. We are known

FOODS?
We are in the midst of a green revolution! Natural, organic and
sustainable products are proliferating our markets and our world in
general. Food is viewed differently today than ever before. New food
items inhabit the marketplace; foods with different, foreign and exotic
names like hummus, kumbacha, tomatillo and miso. There is an
enormous acceptance to the new and different. It is within this context
that our opportunity exists for the sale of specialty foods. So, what
makes a food specialty? We answer this as follows: specialty foods
include items that are gourmet, natural, organic, special diet or ethnic in
nature. These products are not the regular grocery items you have
been accustomed to over the last 50 years. Specialty foods typically
require an educational process for the consumer and need to be sold
and presented differently. There is a story that needs to be told with
most specialty foods. Specialty foods offer a unique experience for the
