Dear Ms. Celeste Williams
In today’s society it’s easy to forget what life’s about. We work 9 to 5 jobs and get home
with only enough time to have dinner and prepare for the next day. Life has left little
room for adventure. However, this weekend the public will have the chance to expand
their horizons.
National Walk on Your Wild Side Day is April 12, an opportunity for all to do something
they’ve never done before. The Fort Worth Nature Center offers many adventurous
activities that can fulfill these temptations.
With today’s climb in work stress, the people of Fort Worth deserve a story that will help
them engage in discovering distressful activities for the readers and their families.
Would you be interested in a story targeted at the local audience?
This article will include five different activities that can be done at the Fort Worth Nature
Center & Refuge. In addition, the activities are written as descriptive summaries and
provide recommendations.
I have spent the past four months researching and preparing feature releases as well as
media kits for the Fort Worth Nature Center. I will be happy to provide these to you at

Are you Ready to Walk on Your Wild Side?
FORT WORTH, April 10/Star-Telegram – January is far behind us, and chances are like
many others the new things you wanted to try for your New Year Resolutions have yet
to be reached. Fortunately, national Walk on Your Wild Side Day has approached us.
April 12, is National Walk on your wild side day, an opportunity for the public to do
something they’ve never done before.
In honor of Walk on Your Wild Side Day, here are some fun, wild things you and your
kids can do at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge.
Get Your Hiking Boots Ready: The 20-mile hiking trail runs throughout all of the
Nature Center. Get an on foot experience of nature and discover the wild life species
such as bison and fox. As well as prairies, plants and hills. The trial runs along the
3,600-acre center, and runs along Lake Worth. Remember, Texas summers are very
hot, be sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen and hiking shoes.
Fish for Fun: When was the last time you let nature speak to you in its quietest form?
Grab a boat, plan a picnic and use this time to bond with the kids. Many fishers would
agree that fishing can be quite the experience. At the Fort Worth Nature Center you’ll be
able to experience Lake Worth and Trinity River at close view and maybe catch the
lovely Texas sunset.
Kayak Kruising: Take a cruise on the river at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge,
and you might just catch a glimpse of the gators. The Lake Worth Lake provides a
beautiful and fun experience for you and your kids. Be sure to bring your equipment.
Bike Ride by the Lake: Bike rides can be quite the adventure, especially when the trail
runs along an amazing lake and handful of prairies. Grab your bike, and helmet and hop
on this amazing trail that will take you along Prairie Dog Town, and the Bison herd.
Bird Watching: Bird watching has become increasingly popular over the years among
youth as well as in adults. This relaxing activity requires great focus and a good
memory, enabling a great brain exercise. In Texas, April is filled with beautiful rare birds
such as the Blue-throated Hummingbird, Wilson’s-Storm Petrel, and the amazing Red-
headed Woodpecker. Don’t forget your binoculars for locating these birds and camera
to capture the moment!
Remember, National Walk on Your Wild Side Day doesn’t have to end that day. These
activities along with many others will be offered at the Fort Worth Nature Center daily,
