ESTABLISH MAPPING FOR ANALYTICS
PRECEDA METRICS
In order for the pre-defined Analytic Views to display correctly, it is important to establish some rules
within your database beforehand. These simple rules will enable the data to be grouped and
displayed in a format that is easy to understand, and compare over time.
These Preceda Metrics rules are located within Talent > Reference > Workforce.
The Employment Type Mapping (as displayed below) ensures that all of your existing Employment
Type codes are mapped to a pre-defined Preceda Metrics Code. This will enable standard reporting
of data into Analytic Views in a standard format across your data.
Remember to maintain this file if you create or amend any new Employment Type codes in Preceda.

The Leave Types Mapping (as displayed below) ensures that all of your existing Unscheduled
Absence Hours Codes for Leave are mapped to a pre-defined Preceda Metrics Code. This will
enable standard reporting of data into Analytic Views in a standard format across your data.
Remember to maintain this file if you create or amend any new Hours Codes for unplanned leave in
Preceda.

The Termination Reasons Mapping (as displayed below) ensures that all of your existing
Termination Reason Codes are mapped to a pre-defined Preceda Metrics Code. This will enable
standard reporting of data into Analytic Views in a standard format across your data.
Remember to maintain this file if you create or amend any new Termination Reason codes in
Preceda.

will make the individual Views available from the Main Page in Preceda.
Ctrl+Q to locate Dashboard Access, and then locate required existing Access Profiles. Activate the
Dashboard functionality for each profile, as required.
Enter the Activity ID for each View, as required:

SETTING UP A DASHBOARD ON YOUR WELCOME SCREEN
When a user logs in to Preceda after Dashboards have been enabled within the appropriate Access
Profile AND on the User Profile, they will see a blank dashboard titled System Dashboard. If the user
clicks on the icon, they will be able to customise their own Dashboard(s). The user can then
select their preferred layout and change the name of the Dashboard by overriding the Dashboard
Name:
The Dashboard can also be linked to an existing Preceda module by selecting the module from the
prompt list within Link to Module.
To add widgets to the dashboard, there is a small icon next to the New Dashboard tab that once
clicked shows the different categories and widgets available for each one of those. All of the Views
being processed via Jaspersoft (Analytics Subscription) are available from within the Analytics folder:
Multiple widgets can be added in each dashboard and multiple dashboards can be created for the
user to classify the information according to their personal preferences or needs.
Within each widget there are several options:

PRECEDA METRICS
In order for the pre-defined V12 Views to display correctly, it is important to establish some rules within
your database beforehand. These simple rules will enable the data to be grouped and displayed in a
format that is easy to understand, and compare over time.
From Administration > Reference > Dashboards select Worked Hours Mapping
WORKED HOURS MAPPING
To use the Unplanned Absences widget there are some additional configurations to be set up. The
Work Hours Mapping screen allows the user to select the hours codes, or additions/deduction codes
to be defined as worked hours or unplanned leave. These codes are then used to generate the chart
displayed in the Unplanned Absences widget.
Once the general set up for the dashboards is finished, the user can start setting up its own
dashboards.
