10. The end of Dynamics CRM as we know it
• Currently, we’re used to ”plans” and/or single apps.
• Dynamics 365 “Plans” were introduced as the “new way, better
of Dynamics CRM licensing” in 2016. And it was a huge change
back then.
• For the last 3 years, Microsoft has been making a great deal
about plans as a price-effective alternatives to buying separate
apps.
• And yes, it was a great deal, when compared to Salesforce licensing.

11. The end of Dynamics CRM as we know it
• From October, you cannot buy Dynamics 365 Plans anymore
(incl. Customer Engagement or Unified Operations).
• Microsoft will no longer offer the Plan as it moves to an a la
carte style licensing offering.

12. DYNAMICS 365 – Let’s delve deeper
• For Dynamics 365, every user will now require a BASE license, and an
ATTACH license for every application the user wants to have access to.
• Each user must have at least one BASE license.
10/24/19

M365FL Meeting
13. • Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations is now split into Supply Chain
Management and Finance
• Retail and Talent stay as separate apps

M365FL Meeting
14. • If a user requires more than one application license, the higher
priced license must be used as the BASE
• That effectively means that users might have two BASE licenses (eg.
for Project Service Automation), whenever they access apps that are
not offered as ATTACH licenses. Yes, that means a huge price
increase.
• Each user might have as many ATTACH licenses as they need

19. • Team Members licenses are not affected.
• The Team Members subscription entitles the user to light weight access
through designated scenarios built into Team Members experience.
• Tiered pricing is still available for Enterprise apps.
• The ”Sales” module continues to be split into two different apps
(cannot even be combined within the same instance):

M365FL Meeting
• As with Dynamics 365, starting from October, you cannot buy
PowerApps plans (Plan 1 / Plan 2) anymore.
• Microsoft introduced simplified… plans to replace… plans.
Per app Plan Per user Plan
And if that’s not crazy enough, wait to learn how many custom apps
each “per app” Plan gives access to…
J
21. Per app Plan
• An “app” is a combination of Power Platform assets that solves
a specific business scenario
• Each “app” can include:
• 1 PowerApps Portal AND
• 2 custom apps (model driven and/or canvas)
• The “per app Plan” provides use rights to a fully featured app for
1 user
• Minimum 30 licenses per app are required

25. Consequences for customers
• The change introduced in October 2019 means that all “old”
SKUs disappear from all licensing channels, ie. from Volume
Licensing (EA, EAS, EES, SCE), Microsoft Products and
Services Agreement (MPSA), Microsoft Online Subscription
Program (MOSP/Web Direct), and Cloud Solution Provider
Program (CSP) price lists.
• That means all customers MUST switch to new licenses upon renewal
(current agreements are not affected). And yes, for many customers
this change means higher prices than before October.
• Example? Finance & Operations - $210, $190 before October.

M365FL Meeting
26. Consequences for customers
• Dynamics 365 Enterprise licenses will no longer include
general purpose PowerApps and Flow use rights.
Dynamics 365 Enterprise application user can continue to run
PowerApps applications within their Dynamics 365 environments but
running PowerApps applications in non-Dynamics 365 environments will
require an additional PowerApps license.
