The Department of Defense willstep up the nationwide “click it or ticket” campaign now and during the summermonths as a reminder and encourage seatbelt use and reduce serious injuries andfatalities resulting from traffic accidents. Seat belts are the most effective safety featureever invented and have helped save thousands of lives. Sadly, one in five Americansfail to regularly wear a seat belt when driving or riding in a motor vehicle.
