that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life.

•What is love?
• True love is a strong and lasting affection between spouses or
lovers who are in a happy, passionate and fulfilling relationship
– google-
• Socrates states that, “Love is the conciousness of a need for a
good not yet acquired or possessed.” In other words we want
what we do not have, and at times cannot have. Love for Socrates
is a superficial occurrence and only based on the things in life that
seem to be pleasing to the eye. – Socrates-

Others says that love is when you have all

•Everybody loves to be loved
•Nothing can exist without
love.

There are different types of love
A husband to wife

A love for a father and his children

A love for boyfriend and girlfriend

A love for a friend

But throughout the Bible we see statements
about God’s Love
• John 13:34-35. “A new commandment I give to
you, that you love one another. Just as I have
loved you, you also love one another. By this
everyone will know that you are my disciples, if
you have love for one another.
• John 14:23. Jesus answered him, “If a man loves
me, he will keep my word. My Father will love
him, and we will come to him, and make our
home with him.”

The gospel of John speaks more specific of God’s love
He presents the greatness of God’s love in a nut shell

God is immutable, Hebrews 6:17
God knows everything. Job 34:21
He is Omni present, Psalms 139:7-8
He is Holy, Leviticus 11:44
He created everything Genesis 1:1-31, Genesis 2:1-
25

2. His love is great because he loves us, (God
so loved the world…)
God loves the human beings
He loves you and knows you personally by
your name.
But we are not worthy of being loved
And while we were yet sinners Christ died for
us, Romans 5:8

3. His love is great because of the way he
care for us, (that he gave his only son,)
• People love other for many reasons.
Because of selfishness, because of receiving
something.
But God loved us unselfishly

4. His love is great because he loves
everyone, (that who ever believes..)
His love does not care for the skin color.
His love doest not care for the race
His love does not care about the caste.
But he loves everyone the same.

5. His love is great for we will not perish if we
believe in Him, (that whoever believes in Him
should not perish..)
•Jesus paid the price for our sin
•He has paid the price for our
sickness
•He has paid the price for all our
frustrations and disappointments.

Conclusion
John 3:16 communicates to us the greatness
of God’s love
It is difficult to understand why many are
blind to see this love
Thus missing the rich benefits offered by
God.

of Christ can heal. Only He in whom
that love flows, even as the sap in the
tree or the blood in the body, can
