- My name is Ivan Porta, I’m a customer engineer at Microsoft and today I’m here with my collegue Ian Calcagni to talk about how to Automate your Power BI reports deployment using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. - This are some examples of what is happening every 60 seconds on the internet. Or at least before Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp went down. You might say…Well why I should be interested in 46k Instagram posts or 452k Twitter posts? Well, the people here that are part of business unit might be familiar with that….all this posts, tweets, and even swipes on tinder are giving us information about users that you can use to improve your business. Just to give you an example, BitTitan (company that provide solutions to help IT service providers run their business) wanted to sharpen their marketing and sales. Thanks to did Twitter sentiment analysis and data visualization solution based on PowerBI there were able to make their tweets reach 5 times as many people, attracting more customers. Heathrow Airport. This airport is considered the UK’s gateway to the world. Everyday, more that 200k people (at lest before the pandemic) used to pass through it. In this case they wanted to increase the customer satisfaction. - But even in a standard organization….we can see a constant stream of data flowing through the entire ecosystem. Capturing these data and taking advantage of them, with applied intelligence… will enables better decisions and transformative processes …so we can do things differently …we can create new experiences, new ways of working …and then producing new outcomes. …and start the loop all over again in what we call the digital feedback loop. And this is how many organizations are transforming products, services, optimize operations and empowering their employees ----------------------------------------------------------- by applying a new breed of digital technologies and intelligently engage customers, transform products and services, optimize operations and empower employees companies In fact, we see that: the future growth across all industries, and the business models of the organizations within them, will be driven in large part by applying a new breed of digital technologies to more intelligently engage customers, transform products and services, optimize operations and empower employees. Flowing across and through the ecosystem in which an organization operates is a constant stream of data…. It’s this sum of data – that if captured and harnessed, with applied intelligence… enables better decisions and transformative processes… so we can do things differently… to create new experiences, new ways of working…new outcomes. These new outputs, create new data itself …which can help us learn more, to help us refine things further …and so on. We call this the digital feedback loop. And it is how we help organizations unlock new value. ------------------------------------ To disrupt and innovate, industries must take on a strategy that connects their customers, employees, products and operations as effectively as possible. Streamlining their business to respond to customer demands, and pooling data across the organization so that analytics can hunt. - Companies that were able to do so have seen A dramatically Increase of productivity: estimated to be 430B in 2020 Increase operational income by 8%
- One tool that can help you doing so is PowerBI. But how does it actually work? You collect data from multiple sources (for example SQL Server, Saleforce, and so on) Then you use PowerBI Desktop to create Custom visualizations and models of these data. However, because PowerBI Desktop is a client app. These reports are stored on your file system or a shared folder, so might be difficult to share them within your organization. To make them available to other people you need to publish them to PowerBI Service. By doing so, not only you will make them available to broad audience… but also and accessible from a multitude of devices (for example: mobile, apps, and even HoloLens) Build 1: what is Power BI Build 2: any data, anytime, anywhere Build 3: simple to get started, easy to use Build 4: change the way you work – data driven culture, converting insight to action, collaborate
