VIRTUAL ASSISTANCE
Virtual Assistance refers to the evolving market for personal digital assistant applications for desktops, smartphones and other
devices. The apps function as personal information managers, assisting users with administrative tasks such as managing contacts,
emails, diaries and projects. They have become essential tools for the information-overloaded and time-pressed consumer.
IN-STORE EXPERIENCE
Consumers are increasingly time-constrained and are expecting
technology to work for them autonomously behind-the-scenes.
Instead of having to search for information by themselves,
consumers today rather opt for services that do the scouring and
curating for them.
Further advances in artificial intelligence are leading to
increasingly sophisticated digital personal assistants, paving the
way to automate more and more complex tasks. Hence, over
the coming years we will see an adoption of virtual assistants in
many fields - from retail, to healthcare and construction.
?
WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU?
Personal Coaching
Developing a personal assistant that
becomes a friend-like assistant, coach
and mentor to the customer. Tracking
and monitoring what he or she does and
offering personalised advice, for example
in regards to nutrition, dieting, cooking etc.
Intimate Customer Data
The intimate interactions virtual
assistants have with customers are
yielding extremely insightful behavioural
datasets. This leads to enormous potential
regarding tailored, personalised services
and data-driven decision-making.
Automating & Curating
Using an engagement model that
puts the virtual assistant centrestage.
Automating the mundane tasks
in customer engagement and

FARM-TO-TABLE
Farm-To-Table (also known as Farm-to-Fork) refers to the global social movement of consumers concerned with the stages of food
production, who choose only those foods that are produced locally and delivered locally, within season. Growing demand for local,
sustainably-produced food with minimal environmental impact is resulting in restaurants and brands that are entirely Farm-To-Table.
This trend demands a greater collaboration and closer networks
between local farmers and grocery stores. It not only offers
opportunities for new, more transparent logistics and distribution
models, but it furthermore creates space for a new product range
that caters to the expectations of consumers demanding locally-
produced, organic food.
Farm-To-Table encourages a rethinking of what it means to be a
supermarket, giving rise to a possible transformation from a mere
supplier of groceries to a local producer of food and drinks.
?
WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU?
Fresh Meal Kits
Integrating the experience of a
farmers market into your retail space
while maintaining the convenience of
a supermarket. Merging the comfort
of ready-made meals together with
fresh, local produce by providing
specific recipes and meal kits together
with the ingredients.
Supermarket Farm
Utilising your retail space to not only sell,
but, at the same time also produce food
through modern farming techniques such
as vertical and indoor farming. Eventually
becoming an organic and local micro-
farm yourself.
Farm-to-Consumer Network
Bringing farmers and consumers closer
together through online platforms.
Providing them a gateway to connect
and exchange information and goods in
a convenient, seamless and direct way.

RETAIL MULTIPLICITY
Retail Multiplicity refers to how the retail industry is transforming from simple physical stores to spaces that provide more diverse
offerings. In order to compete with the convenience of online shopping, retailers are enticing consumers with social, playful and
exclusive experiences that give them enough reason to interact with a physical store.
BUSINESS REDEFINED
As consumers want to interact with brands, co-create products
and participate in the brand experience, retailers need to adapt
their store experiences and offerings to provide greater choices
and services.
Adapting to these new expectations means forming rather
unusual partnerships and designing the retail experience from
a consumer-centric point of view. Furthermore, it creates the
need to implement new advanced technologies and to appeal to
customers’ sensory faculties.
?
WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU?
Unique Stores
Using unusual partnerships to come up
with more creative and innovative store
concepts. Identifying potential partners by
analysing what other brands and services
your loyal customers love. For example,
helping digital businesses to come into
the physical space or vice versa.
Become A Hub
Becoming an appealing hub for social
events, gatherings, inspiration and
relaxation. Showcasing innovative food
and drinks products by new startups from
around the world or synthetic and 3D
printing food initiatives by innovative labs.
Exclusive Experiences
Transforming the supermarket into a
playful, social and exceptional experience
with digital tools. Making it a place where
customers not only go to buy essentials,
but also go to enjoy the experience it offers.
