3. It all began on May 31st at 11:30 AM when I boarded the Farakka
Express, which was running two hours late, setting the tone for my
internship adventure. The anticipation was building as I embarked on
this exciting journey.

4. Reaching Bhagalpur at 3 AM, I waited at the railway station for my friend
until 7:30 AM. Eventually, one of my friend's uncles arrived and took us
to a BSNL guest house near Ganthaghar, recognizable by a prominent
clock at the start of the road. It was a welcome relief after an
exhausting journey and early hours at the railway station.

6. We soon realized that the road conditions between the guest house in
Bhagalpur and Kahalgaon were abysmal. Small autos or similar vehicles
wouldn't suffice for the journey. So, we opted for a train, the only viable
option.

7. As the train approached at 9:24 AM, we witnessed a sight like never
before. Men and women were walking on the train tracks, carrying their
luggage and goods to sell in the local market. It was a train journey
unlike any other.

8. The train was not just any train; it was, in fact, a 'milkman train.'
Thousands of milkmen with containers hooked to the train windows
created a unique spectacle. It felt like a milk-selling train.

9. As the train filled up, a game ensued. People were throwing bags and
handkerchiefs into the general coaches to reserve seats. We managed
to find some space as we made our way to Kahalgaon.

plant. We reserved an auto-rickshaw and finally caught our first glimpse
of the NTPC Kahalgaon plant.

12. Upon reaching the plant, we encountered a new challenge. The office
was located about 3 to 4 km away from the main gate, and there was no
internal transportation available. Our only option was to request rides
from anyone with a vehicle.

overview of the principles, something you could grasp by reading P.K.
Nag's book on power plant engineering.

14. The entire month of June was filled with the scorching sun's ultraviolet
rays, flue gases from the chimney, and ash stains on our shirts. But it
was a month of valuable experiences that left a lasting impact.

16. In conclusion, my NTPC Kahalgaon summer internship was
characterized by hardship, but it was also full of unique experiences. It
wasn't just about learning the plant work; it was about the journey, the
people we met, and the memories we created. These experiences set
us engineers apart.
